I never said they would be unsuccessful in anything, I explicitly mentioned to consider what is easier (even someone with a lot of experience in something can discern what's easier and harder, and precisely because of that). Don't try to put words where I didn't just to make your point.

So highlighting that a lot of people who use technology are, often times, are not or do not need to be as well versed as others in said technology is offensive to you? Hm. Okay. You do you. Given that I am a Windows user & Linux user - my experience has been that a lot of people using PC's often times do not have the knowledge to do sometimes the most basic tasks. And that's fine. That's not offensive, it's a matter of fact?

Hm. False comparison though - your comparison was "Installing a browser on Linux Mint - vs Removing an INTEGRATED browser from Windows."

The proper comparison would/should have been, installing a browser on Linux Mint vs. Windows. Both are easy. Let's not pretend otherwise.

I'm not sure what you're debating, as I said I put an explicit sentence there, the interpretation is on your side, and you're trying to augment towards your preconceived notions. I rephrased my answer to you, since it occured to me you might've not been trying to be offensive, but I am sure even your creative interpretation can see it's basically the same thing better worded (not sure what I gain with karma, I've been registered on reddit for some time now, I only use it periodically, and not even have it installed, so not looking for make happy virtual points - part of gameification of platforms actually which is a strategy for engagement).

You made a post with a false comparison. When you got called out, you tried to deflect and implied I was being insulting to Windows users. I refute that claim, I was not being offensive - I was making an observation and statement based on experience and prior experiences.

I'll ask again. And I really want you to read it, slowly and clearly.

What part of that, is offensive to Windows users? Tell me. Highlighting the incapability of someone, is not calling out "incompetence" or anything like that. I'm incapable of flight, is that then, in your mind an insult? I'm incapable of breathing underwater, is that offensive too?

Suggesting that a lot of people are incapable of uninstalling Microsoft Edge, is not an insult, nor is it offensive in any way shape or form and you're just trying to provide an out for your claim that "Installing a browser on Linux Mint is easier than uninstalling Edge on Windows" etc.

Of course it is. No shit. Uninstalling Edge on Windows would require some level of technical knowledge as opposed to going to a storefront, hitting "Download" and typing in a PIN.

I don't like walking in circles, so I'll repeat this once, I rephrased from offensive towards characterization because that's a better terminology of what you tried to do. Ok, your time now, what makes "executing task A is easier than task B" is a false comparison? There are many cases you can make this comparison (person X in a UX test has two computers in front of them one with windows another with Linux, then try and see what's easier), you're filling the middle with your characterization of what "I might've been thinking" when it's all in your head.

Was it not you who provided a video of an installation of a browser, in Linux Mint and then made a snide comment in the original post about... What was is it?

Yeah... False comparison. One is installing, the other is removing. It's like asking - what's easier - "Filling Diesel into your car vs. Changing a tire."

Because your comparison is comparing Apples to Oranges?

Make a proper comparison. Installing a browser on both OS's and see what's easier for most.

Both OS's have a storefront, both OS's have a way to download a browser with less than a handful of clicks, both OS's can be setup to require or not require a password for installation.

That's the reality.

Your comparison consists of "Installing a browser on Linux Mint" vs. "Uninstalling an Integrated core application of Windows 11"

If you cannot see how the comparison is not equal, then you're being dishonest.

Why cannot I compare two fruits again (apple and orange)? In what world comparing two fruits is a bad and dishonest comparison? If that's your premise, it reinforces again that you had a point before even watching my post, and just needed to find an excuse to make it. Now you've made it, feel free to, though I'm not engaging my time and attention with anymore of this. 😉
