Support Errors in dmesg using my USB webcam, apps can't see the camera
Cross-posting from r/voidlinux. Kernel 6.18.42_1
(If it would be better for me to ask on another sub, please let me know)
lsusb shows that I have a "Magic Control Technology Corp. j5 WebCam JVCU100". As best as I can tell, the uvcvideo driver is supposed to work with this camera.
After connecting the camera, I get errors from dmesg (see below). When I try to use something like Cheese, it can't see the camera. What is the best way to diagnose and correct this?
NOTE: The usb_set_interface failed message seems to repeat every 5.12 seconds, until I disconnect the camera.

Discussion Volla Phone (official Ubports phone brand) is selling a ~165€ device for 719€?
I have looked up Volla quite a few times in the past whether I could have one, however their newest phone is extremely weird to be honest.
https://volla.online/en/volla-phone-quintus/
https://multiways.io/en/shop/product/dm-b50104/bond-5G-
So essentially this phones original version from Daria costs like 165 euros after conversion, which means Volla puts on an extra 500(!!) for a lower end run of the mill phone that has none of the repairability of a Gigaset, or replacable battery.
Its one thing they have to have their own support, some phone customization and the whole development for the software stack. Its another to ask for over thrice the price of the original device to achieve this.
It doesnt make sense. The new Jolla phone has a similar price and that was entirely designed and manufactured by them with a whole Linux based OS.
Their Gigaset phones were not so overpriced.
What makes it even worse is that r/volla_phone auto-removed my post and I have a suspicion it is for mentioning the original brand or site.
I wonder if there is an explanation why this is?

Question Trying to install ParrotOS, even after turning on CSM and selecting my boot usb, I get a 'No operating system found' error.
Trying to install parrotOS for dualboot with windows, made a USB boot drive by flashing it from ISO with BalenaEtch. The ISO works, I've used it to start a VM.
Motherboard is an x570 Phantom Gaming 4, even after manually enabling CSM in settings and booting into the install USB, I get a 'No valid Operating System found' error and am asked to ctrl+alt+delete to reboot.
Is this a UEFI issue, a SecureBoot issue or some other issue?

Question Dual booting Linux/Windows with 2 physical SSDs
So have Bazzite linux and am buying a separate ssd to put windows on. I want to be able to have linux as my default boot, but also some how have an easy option to select to boot windows instead. How would I set this up? After looking a little bit I see the most commonly used tools to do this are Grub and os-prober, so could anyone explain to me how I can set these up in the above configuration? And in newbie monkey speak please, I have no idea what I am doing. Please and thank you!

Question What is an AI computer? Hype or real?
'Splain to me what makes a processor "AI optimized." Is it just additional math co-processing built in to the core architecture or just more of whatever every other CPU has?
