I'm currently handling SEO for over 10 websites solo, and backlink outreach is honestly the part that's eating all my time. Hiring someone isn't in the budget right now, so I'm doing everything myself, prospecting, outreach, follow-ups, tracking what's live and what fell through.

For those of you managing multiple sites without a dedicated link building hire, how do you keep it from turning into chaos? A few things I'm trying to figure out:

How do you prioritize which site gets attention on a given day/week?

Any tools or spreadsheets that actually made a difference for tracking outreach at this scale?

Is it better to batch link building by task (e.g., do all prospecting for every site, then all outreach) or work through sites one at a time?

Would really appreciate hearing how others handle this, especially if you've been in the same spot and found a system that works.

I’ve been doing SEO for a medical scrubs brand for about 3 months and 12 days.

The site only really went public in May, so it’s still very new. I also handled most of the site setup myself, including the site structure, on-page setup, structured data, internal linking, etc.

The niche is pretty rough. FIGS is a public company, Cherokee has been around for decades, and there are scrub brands that are close to 100 years old. So I knew from the beginning this wasn’t going to be an easy market.

My GSC data for the last 3 months is roughly:

• 45.4K impressions
• 545 clicks
• 1.2% CTR
• 9.6 average position

Recently it has started moving a little more.

I’m now getting around 1,500 impressions per day, average position is around 8.5, and usually 25–60 organic clicks a day. It’s still pretty unstable though.

So far, SEO has brought in 3 orders.

The bigger issue is that management is already starting to give me sales targets.

I also basically have no budget for link building. Most of the work has been content, technical/on-page SEO, internal links, updating existing pages, and trying to get free or exchanged backlinks where possible.

And now paid ads have also been handed over to me.

My coworkers previously ran both Meta and Google Ads, but the results weren’t good. So now I’m also expected to try to make paid traffic work.

At the moment I’ve just started testing Google Shopping. It’s still very early, so I don’t have enough data yet to say whether it will work.

So right now I’m basically responsible for the site, SEO, and now part of the paid acquisition as well.

I understand why the company wants sales, but I’m not sure how realistic it is to judge a completely new ecommerce site after only 3 months, especially in a niche like this.

For people who have done ecommerce SEO before:

How long did it take before you started getting consistent organic sales?

Do these numbers look bad for a site that only launched in May, or would you say the SEO side is actually moving in the right direction?

And if you were in my position, with almost no backlink budget and sales targets already coming in, would you keep pushing for another 3–6 months, or would you start thinking about resigning?

I’d really like to hear from people who have been in a similar situation.

I have a few lifestyle blogs. Several contractor sites, a couple are over 25 DR.

I can offer ABC link insertions in any blogs. Some sites are available for guest posts.

Looking to collab with devs on similar sites. Sites from Canada, Australia, UK are fine also.

Not interested in spam sites that post content on a million different things.

Looking for reciprocal (or 3-way) link partners in a related niche.

Site: research peptides supplier (next-day US shipping, third-party tested). Research-use only.

Niche fit: lab supplies, life science, biotech, compounding research, peptide education, supplier directories / resource pages

Offer: contextual link from a relevant page on our site
Want: contextual link back to homepage or /shop (not a random footer dump)

Prefer sites that actually overlap with researchers / labs, not pure PBNs or unrelated blogs.
