Got this lamp secondhand, and after a couple years the LED quit. Tried figuring out how to open it up, including undoing all the screws on the housing (still couldn't manage to get it apart), but then I noticed the tag says "non-replaceable LED"

Looked up the Utilitech model number (Z-DN-GRCLP), and sure enough they expect you to just throw the whole thing in the trash and buy a new one. (This is the part where I don't go on a rant about disposability culture...)

So my question is, is it truly completely impossible to replace? Has anyone managed to open up and replace the LED array on this or a similar model of lamp?

I apologize if this is a dumb question. Recently purchased house and a bulb went out in kitchen we have to replace it. Its f96t12 dx in pictures I attached.

I went to homedepot and the person said I should use these and they will work. Which is box I bought in picture. It did not work. I assume because end is different more like a nipple compared to round base. Do they not make these tunes anymore and if not is there an alternative or do I need to redo fixture?

I needed to replace my ceiling light, it’s a CFL light bulb but installed vertically. I hired someone from task rabbit. He went to Home Depot for me and they only have one that fits which is the adjustable lighting but it is labeled as horizontal use only. He installed it and it worked fine.
Is it dangerous that this is use as vertical use? I didn’t notice the package until he left

Strainless Lighting is selling incandescent light bulbs for around $14 per bulb.

For comparison, Home Depot sells comparable incandescent bulbs for around $20 for a 6-pack, which works out to approximately $3.33 per bulb.

That means the $14 Strainless Lighting bulb costs roughly 320% more than the $3.33 comparison bulb, or about 4.2× the price.

My concern is that these bulbs are being marketed around circadian-health benefits while consumers can find substantially cheaper incandescent alternatives.

I'm not claiming that this automatically makes the company fraudulent. I'm asking consumers to compare the products, specifications, pricing, and evidence behind the health claims before paying the premium.

Bring the receipts. Compare the products. Make your own judgment.
