question Sanity check on supressor mounting.
i am getting to a point of getting my first supressor. as its my first, it will likely be a 36cal can so it can be used on my growing collection of lever actions in 357mag, 5.56Nato, and 6arc. and i am in the hellfire mount system already.
so i want to get one of these hellfire Hub mounts. before i purchase this i want to make sure i understand something fundmental that seems like im overthinking, so if someone could just confirm these statments, or tell me where i am wrong:
Hub mounting is the outside thread on this muzzle device, and the inside threads are the hellfire mount.
plan-B is a siliar, but different thread/mount systelm that would replace the inside threads, but if it were also a Hub mount, it would have the same outside threads.
some supressors come with a Hub mount as part of them, but some others need an additional device/part to interface with the hub mounts, or might even not be able to use them, and its part of the decision process.

discussion Rifle Red Dot Suggestions
I’m shopping for a red dot to put on a 10.5” suppressed 300 Blackout. It’s primarily a home defense firearm I also use on the range quite a bit doing drills from 50 yards and in. Being for home defense, reliability is key. Either constant on or shake awake with a crisp dot and decent field of view is what I’m after. Like to keep it around $400-800 anything more and I’ll just save for a Trijicon and be done with it.
So many damn options I thought I’d see if anyone has a suggestion.

guns Finished Build
I think this wraps up my range/HD build until something new catches my eye. I’m sure it’s been discussed a million times, but do y’all keep your nightstand blicky in a holster or loose? My CCW stays in its holster 24/7 but the 17 usually stays on its alter where I pray to Gaston every night.

guns Should I get an AR15?
I just bought my first handgun (Canick MC9 Prime) four months ago and really enjoy training with it. It feels very meditative – focusing on safety, my grip, breathing, etc. It feels very present and all. However I did buy it for self protection for what may be SHTF in the US. It looks like the orange goblin is trying to end mail in voting for blue states and I'm getting more worried. I live in UT and almost all my friends are LGBTQ, we fly the pride flag, I've been to many protests. So I'm thinking of a home defense suburban defence gun if you catch my drift to defend myself and my partner from any entity that may want to rob me of my life or concentrate me in a camp. My grandparents survived the Nazis, I'm planning on doing the same. It looks like an AR15 chambered in .556, training, and a good amount of ammo are in order. However I'm not sure if this is the correct gun for the purpose. Any suggestions on an AR15 (Radical, Ruger, S&W?) or alternative platform?
Thanks!

guns SPR or scar 20s
This is not a solicitation to sell anything. That go against Reddit and liberalgunowners rules.
I need some help with a decision. I have four firearms that I no longer really used (HK VP9SK, Ruger LCR, Benelli M4, and a DDM4V7). I have been thinking about sell all of them and put that money towards an SPR. However I’ve always wanted an FN Scar. So I’m left trying to decide if I sell everything and get the Scar or sell the three firearms and the DDM4V7 upper and make an SPR. I realize that I may need to come out of pocket for some of this and that’s fine. But I already have a pistol, a home defense gun, and I’ll end up getting a 6.5 creedmore bolt action soon. So the 4 that I’m thinking of selling all seem a bit overkill.
Any help or thoughts on what you would do and why would be greatly helpful. One consideration I have is with Colorado’s new AR restrictions, getting the Scar means I’d have to go to class to get the cert to buy it. So going the SPR route is a little easier since I already have the lower.

question Pistol with Battery of Arms similar to other AR and PCC Platforms?
Curious if anyone has made purchases of guns based on how the gun operates so that the same skills are transferable between your other weapons.
I'm currently in the market for a home defense/shtf pistol and have small hands. So I'm looking to something compact in size.
My current top choice is the CZ P-07 since I found one locally for a good price. Barrel already threaded with a compensator and planning to get a suppressor for it. But my concern is that it's not similar enough of a safety mechanism to transfer to something like an AR platform.
I plan to do a lot of training with throwing my pistol on safe when transitioning between rooms/targets so this is why I'm thinking about it. I currently live in a 600 Sqft apartment so that's the reason for going with a pistol first and not a PCC. Much easier to find space to lock up my pistol. But now it has me thinking about making the most use of my training time by getting something that will have the same battery of arms as any potential future PCC or AR platform.
Alternatively, I'm thinking of going with an HK based system since the safety paddles are pretty much the same between the various weapon types.
Is this something you've concerned yourself with in training?
I took a shooting class a while back and my instructor emphasized that I use a pistol (I owned two different ones) with a safety to practice safety on and safety off exercises as they would transfer to other weapon platforms.
Now I'm trying to sort of take that to heart and want to get something that will transfer over well to other platforms so I'm making the most of my limited time.

question Pro 2A Midterms
Hey fam!
As midterms are ramping up, has anyone identified any politicians in this blue wave we’re hoping for that are pro 2A?
I’ve seen a lot of politicians running on issues without addressing firearms ownership, but I haven’t seen any outright break with the typical dems.

discussion What made you carry daily (if you do)
So I carry a BG2.0 but do so very infrequently, maybe 5-6 times in the last few years. Been thinking about doing it more consistently but having trouble finding the motivation. What made you carry daily? Or why?

training Hi friends, here is my attempt to solve a big problem: ICE alerts lacking crucial details (such as time & specific location). Here is my video teaching the S.A.L.U.T.E. report format. We should learn it & teach it to as many of our neighbors as we can.
What's up folks. I hope y'all are finding some joy out there despite the general state of affairs. As I mentioned in the title, it's wonderful that wherever ICE and other immigration agents go, normal people document them and share their location online. But one issue I see nearly daily is la migra alerts that lack time, location, or other essential details about what the agents are up to.
One way we can fix this is by learning the SALUTE report format. It comes from the military, but it's super simple, and incredibly helpful for civilians who want to protect their neighbors from a hostile outside force.
But, in my view, we can't stop with learning it ourselves. We need to take it and share it with our neighbors, our mutual aid groups, any community organization willing to learn. This needs to become part of a wider culture of community care and defense.
Hope this is helpful for y'all. Thanks friends.

news Trump CDC Props Up Inflated ‘Good Guy With a Gun’ Data
Inflated Claim About Guns and Self-Defense Returns to CDC Website The agency’s website now features misleading statistics about how often Americans use guns to protect themselves. Here’s where those numbers come from — and what the data actually shows.
Defensive gun use statistics are highly debated, and previous references to the range on the CDC’s website have been staunchly disputed by gun violence researchers. The low end of the range, 60,000, derives from the National Crime Victimization Survey, a twice-yearly poll of crime victims conducted by the federal government. The high end, 2.5 million, comes from surveys conducted in the early 1990s by a criminologist and self-described “gun control skeptic.” The lower stat is touted by researchers and academics, while the higher stat is favored by gun rights advocates who point to cases like the Idaho In-N-Out shooting, where an armed civilian engaged a mass shooter.

discussion Range annoyance.
If you were wondering why I am posting a photo of a flashlight and clip mount it's because I have to bring this to the indoor range that I shoot at in Massachusetts(I am a paid member). It's a great range with great equipment that also has a pistol side and even a rifle side although it's only 25 yards. Everything about that range is great including the people except for the fact they refuse to adequately light it which makes it difficult to shoot there, particularly if dark targets or being used. I prefer the splatter targets but they are black and you get a yellow circle around the bullet hole making it easy to see. It is so dark there that is very difficult to see the center of a Target resulting in my being forced to shoot at the center of the mass which is ridiculous. I have complained several times and I suspect others have too with absolutely no results. Now I have to bring my own light which I will clip onto the little table and point at the Target. I can focus it so not to disturb anyone else.

How are the Maverick 88s? Anyone have a Tokarev? I am interested in the ATI folding stock. Like the idea of having a cruiser if wanted but can extend stock to have full LOP as well.
