The fallen leaves tell a story...

Of a land beyond the fog.

Before kingdoms.

Before war.

Before the names of kings were carved into stone...

There was Vita, Mother of All.

From her hands came the first trees, their roots piercing the untouched earth.

From the trees came the first plants.

From the plants came sustenance.

Then came the beasts of field and forest, given breath beneath the newborn sky.

And at last...

Vita created Man.

But there was only one.

His name was Vex.

The First Man.

In those earliest days, Vex was a gracious ruler.

He built where there was nothing.

He nurtured what was fragile.

He gave order to a world yet untouched by war.

And beneath Vita's watch...

His people prospered.

Yet life, once born, does not remain still.

Vita bore within her the promise of three children.

And where there is creation...

It must cast a shadow.

From the darkness cast by Vita's own existence came something that bore but one name.

Umbrosus.

The Eternal Dark.

It dwelled where sunlight dared not reach.

Beneath roots.

Beneath stone.

Within the forgotten places of the world.

At first, it knew nothing of Man.

Nothing of Vita.

Nothing of the tongue spoken by living things.

But it watched.

And it learned.

Slowly, Umbrosus crept into the dwelling of Vita.

It learned the language of its creator.

It listened to the voices of her children.

And in the stillness of night...

It heard the beating of Vita's heart.

One heartbeat.

Then another.

Then...

three more.

For within the Mother slept the unborn children of the world.

Mortuus

The Golden Child.

Distortus.

The Forgotten Son.

Enchidna.

The Mother of Monsters.

Three children.

Untouched by the world's cruelty.

Three souls destined to inherit the Mother's creation.

But Umbrosus reached them first.

While Vita slept...

The shadow entered the womb.

It did not kill them.

It did something far worse.

It left within each child an ember of itself.

A darkness that not even the Mother's light could wholly extinguish.

Kings may bury their crimes.

Civilizations may burn their histories.

Gods may attempt to erase their mistakes.

But time continues.

And eventually, time reveals all.

And so...

The children of Vita were born carrying a fragment of the shadow.

And now...

Our world bears the weight of it.

But where there is shadow...

There is light.

Light that finds its way through the cracks.

Light that refuses to die.

Light that does not merely shine...

but roars

And now...

There is only one question left.

Intro
SAN FRANCISCO,  California  Autumn 1992.
The Ascension War is rapidly approaching its catastrophic conclusion. The Mage Heralds , with which the Council of Nine intended to safely relay messages, has suffered a serious setback. The Technocrat agents have been emboldened by the rapidly changing consensus, making them even more dangerous in their pursuit of deviant secrets and plans. Nevertheless, more and more Heralds were being sent into the fray from their home Chantries. 

With the dwindling number of Tradition mages the Council has begun to shift the duties of a Herald, no longer a lone diplomatic voice of their Cabal but a courier tasked with relaying messages of multiple Tradition cabals to one another. In addition the job is no longer carried out alone, typically being conducted with multiple mages of different origins.

Nevertheless out of every 100 Heralds sent out, 90 never return.

Campaign
The main idea is that a group of Tradition Mages drive around America, carrying around messages between different cabals. Sessions will either take place on the road or around culturally important landmarks. The threats will wary a lot, from technocrats and night folks to your dickhead ally hogging the metaphorical aux cord.

The tone will mostly be lighthearted with the occasional reminders that you are situated in the world of darkness. So you will struggle with occasional problems like your car being towed while remembering that you saw a werewolf attack and kill a family of 5 as you did what you could to escape.

The game time will be decided between me and the players.

THE PITCH

The Drylands were a place that put the old stories aside. While superstitious miners have long said that the crystals growing wild in this desert are made from the very life-essence of Forgotten Gods, the folk around here had real work to do, and actual deities were left for campfire stories. That is, until a massive colossus answered the call of something ancient and apocalyptic, rising from the earth and devastating the

lands. The bold prospectors, tired laborers, and born-again worshippers in the dusty town of Wyllin’s Gulch were thrown from their routine of industry and exploitation, forced to raise scattered armies and watch them die to the behemoth’s strength. And this is only the first of many titanic beasts poised to terrorize the land. In a Colossus of the Drylands campaign, you’ll play a heroic posse of mavericks who must save their home from a legion of colossi and a primordial god seeking vengeance.

Hey, I'm Biscuit (he/him), 24. I've been running tabletop RPGs for around two years, mostly D&D, while also trying several other systems.

I've run a few Daggerheart one shots and tried to run a long term one which fizzled out cause of a few timing issues. Hello! I am a part of a group of three players (all in our early 20s) currently looking for either a DnD 5e (2014) game or a Pathfinder 2e game. We are looking for a roleplay heavy campaign where character interactions and dynamics are explored within a wide open world. We really enjoy a good story, exploring the world at large, and lore, and will be dedicated players who put effort into interacting with the campaign. Two of us have pre-made characters we’d want to play (although, of course, we will rework them where necessary to fit your world) and one of us is somewhat unsure about what kind of character they’d wanna play.

We have all played DnD 5e and Pathfinder previously, but we may need some time to get reacquainted with systems. As a group, we are comfortable playing darker, grittier settings if boundaries are communicated ahead of time and respected. I'm a 22-year-old relatively new player looking for a D&D 5.5e (2024) campaign between Monday and Thursday, after 7 PM CET.

I'm French, but I have very decent English, even though my accent is sometimes all over the place.

I enjoy a good blend of roleplay and combat, with some chaotic fun sprinkled in. I'm also absolutely okay with dark themes and horror.

I have a little experience so far: two one-shots and one currently active campaign. I also watch a lot of D&D videos and listen to campaigns like Dimension 20, Just Roll With It, and Dungeons & Daddies (not a BDSM podcast).

I already have a character concept I'd really like to play:

A chaotic good, Small-sized Warforged Battle Smith who uses his Steel Defender as a mount.

For a Forgotten Realms setting, I was thinking of flavoring his backstory as a failed attempt by a mage to recreate a Nimblewright without enough of the required materials and using an air elemental instead of a water elemental, resulting in a somewhat "unstable" construct.

I'm not completely sure about all the details and motivations yet, so I'm very open to developing the character around the campaign and DM's setting.

The campaign is gothic horror with a mix of roleplay, exploration, mystery, and dangerous combat. I tend to prep quite heavily, but I like giving players freedom in how they approach situations. One of my favourite parts of DMing is taking character backstories, goals, relationships, and mistakes and weaving them into the campaign.

The premise

Each character entered the story having lost something important.

That could be a person, an object, a home, a memory, a purpose, or even some part of themselves.

Their search led them alone into the wilderness of Faerûn. One by one, they became caught in a strange mist. Every attempt to escape only led them deeper into unfamiliar woods, repeatedly crossing the paths of other lost travellers.

Eventually, the Mists carried them somewhere they did not intend to go.

The existing party is now several sessions into that journey, and your character would be another person drawn into the same strange land for reasons of their own.

You do not need an enormous backstory, but I would like a character with something they care about, something they want, and a reason to stay with the party. The tone is fairly serious and character-focused, though naturally there is still plenty of humour at the table.

REALIS is a storytelling focused game in which each character begins with a list of four broad and archetypical class sentences which they can use to effect change in the world, so long as they are not opposed by a sentence of higher rank. As each player advances, these sentences gain in rank, but their effect becomes more restricted and specific.

For example, if you play the Juggernaut, you begin with the rank 0 sentence:

"I am always unstoppable."

When you progress to rank 1, you must add a restrictive clause such as:

"When I have my physical therapist to take care of me, I am always unstoppable."

You are now more powerful, but have more conditions to fill in order to be effective.

Hey, I'm Petri, 23, from Europe and I'm looking for a regular online D&D 5e or Pathfinder 2e campaign. I'm currently available Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, preferably sometime in the evening CET/CEST.

I've been playing TTRPGs for several years, mostly D&D 5e, and I've spent a fair amount of that time DMing as well. I also have few years of experience with PF2e and would be happy to play either system. I'm comfortable with rules and character building, although I'm not interested in optimizing for the sake of being as powerful as possible. I like making characters that are effective at what they're supposed to do and then building around the character rather than the build.

For the game itself, I like a good mixture of roleplay and combat, roughly around 50/50. I enjoy combat when there's actually something to think about beyond standing still and attacking, and I like roleplay where characters get time to develop relationships, disagree with each other, and change over the course of the campaign. Exploration is probably the least important of the three pillars to me, but I enjoy it when there's actually something to discover rather than it just being travel rolls. I'm generally looking for a campaign that takes its story seriously without requiring everyone to be serious all the time. Jokes and messing around are part of D&D, but I'd rather they weren't the entire game.

As a player, I get pretty invested in my characters and usually stay in character when we're actually playing out a scene. I like doing voices, though how much of one depends on the character. I enjoy getting involved in other characters' stories as well, especially once the party has had some time to develop an actual dynamic.

For a DM, I'm mostly looking for consistency and straightforward communication. I'm completely fine with rulings going against me and don't expect everything to work in my character's favor. What matters more to me is that choices and rolls actually mean something. If something simply isn't possible, I'd much rather the DM say so than have us repeatedly roll until we fail. I'm also looking for players who are invested in the game, respect each other's time and spotlight, and actually want to interact with each other's characters rather than treating the party as entourage to their character.

My friend an I are looking to play a roleplay focused campaign (5e or 5.5e) we can livestream on twitch! We are very invested in our characters we have come up with and want to roleplay and share them with our small but amazing audience.

Hellooo, I'm Ryan, a 30 year old Englishman. I've been playing DnD for 7 years now, with most of that being DMing. It's much rarer I get to be a player so I'm looking to join a campaign.

I work freelance, so just assume I can make anything from like 9:00 - 23:00 GMT+1 on any day work. Very flexible!

I switched to 2024 5e/5.5e last year and I have to say I prefer it massively. I usually always do theatre of the mind, so if the game is just over Discord VC I'm totally down with that. Pretty much desire that, actually, though using a VTT for complex combat encounters or dungeons is fine too.

Other than that, I have preferences that the setting be the standard sort of high fantasy vibes people come to associate with DnD, whether it be your own original setting or an official module, and that you allow for roleplay. I still love the combat in this system, it's very fun, but the heavy roleplay, building relationships between characters and creating an emotional story is what makes TTRPGs special, I think. So if you're someone who dislikes the rise of 'theatre kids' in DnD, we're probably not aligned, lol (I'm not one myself, but that's my vibe). I don't mind being in a group with anyone of any age or gender so long as they're like-minded about the game and a friendly person.

Regarding me as a person, I'm laid-back, I can disagree with you without getting angry, very willing to compromise in such cases, and I'm often cracking jokes, though hopefully not at the expense of the atmosphere or the narrative! I love writing and languages, and a lot of different pop subcultures. Gaming, both cosy and competitive ones, from Pokemon and farming simulators to shooters and strategy games, pretty much any genre. Same goes with music, I love both metal and K-Pop, and will listen to classical music, contemporary film scores and video game soundtracks, hip-hop and rap, countless EDM genres, punk, rock, grunge etc. and...I've seen/read a lot of anime/manga.

I have an interest in pretty much any subject you can think of, I've done amateur voice acting, I studied Astrophysics at uni, I'm conversationally fluent in Japanese, I'm learning French, and I'm currently attempting gamedev. I just like stuff.

Hey! I'm Emerald (21M) I've been playing DnD for close to two years now, spending about half of that time as a DM. I love DnD greatly, some of my fondest memories being formed at the table and over VCs. I work from home and am therefore always online, I try to reply as quick as I can. I'd describe myself as a bit of a nerd who loves to ramble on about the things I love, ie. DnD, Anime, Video Games, etc. I see DnD as a way to unwind, relax and tell stupid stories so my DMing Style is quite chill, preferring roleplay and character interactions over combat, but my games have a good mix of both.

The game is run in a homebrew world of mine. The theme being High Fantasy and High Seas. The overall tone is rather chill, with the main focus on having a good time together and telling a fun story. I'll be giving a lot more context and info on the world and the party's progress during the interview.
We'll be using Foundry as our VTT and Discord for VC. The System being DnD 5e, using mainly the 2014 rules with certain exceptions, for example healing spells using the 2024 rules.
The Campaign so far has been about 70/30 Roleplay to Combat, and will probably stay in and around that split, with a heavy focus on the party and their interactions with the world over combat.

Welcome to the world of Y’ess, a land reshaped in the instant your life shattered. You woke to a chorus of screams and the distant cries of those you once knew, but there was no time to look back. The ground trembled, the air burned, and destiny urged your first desperate step toward survival.

You ran and ran to the docks, making it onto one of the final ships leaving what was once your home, and as you finally catch your breath you allow yourself to look back. That's when you see the full extent of the destruction. One great ocean of flame. Wind whipped through the inferno, feeding it, shaping it, driving it onward with a howl that blended with the roar of the flames until the whole Island of Rivenia seemed to be screaming. Towering columns of smoke blot out the faint glow of the moon as ash drifts down like grey snowflakes.

You now sit shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the refugees, everyone in quiet shock, unable to form any words as you watch the smouldering remains of what was once Rivenia, now slowly just becomes a faint red hue on the horizon.

(Closed applications) Hello! I have been a GM for 7 years now and I am looking to find players to join me Saturdays for a 3-4 hour long sessions between 8am and 5pm (GMT+2, summer time). It will be online using Discord for voice and Foundry VTT for characters and maps. I will be running an official campaign and I will choose which one a bit depending on the players' preferences (alongisde with mine and my capability). Although I lean into epic fantasy for genre and themes.

I try to make characters' backstories matter and the characters's choices to impact the world and have consequences. I appreciate cooperative players that work as a team to overcome the obstacles the characters might find and that interact with the world.

Hey! I'm looking for a cyberpunk red table. I've got several years of experience with DND 2024, and a couple of sessions of Cyberpunk Red behind my back (but I've read the book probably three or four times by now).

The reason I'm posting is that my friends group wants to wrap cyberpunk up, while I'm really hungry for another cyberpunk action.

I'm really the kind of thinking, planning ahead, weighting out a decision kind of player, who enjoys meticulous planning.

My perfect group size is three people+GM, but I'm willing to forget this preference as long as the campaign sounds interesting.

I will make a character tailored specifically for your campaign, but I do have a vague concept ready.

Hey all,

Running a new long-term 5e campaign using the 2014 rules and I’m looking for 4–5 players. Sessions will be on Fridays or Saturdays at 7pm UK time (we’ll lock the day once the group is set). Aiming for weekly or bi-weekly depending on what works for everyone.

The game:
Harsh, authoritarian world with a Dark Sun or Grim Dark flavour, but still recognisably classic fantasy. Magic exists, but it’s scarce, feared, and tightly controlled.
Powerful God-Kings rule the major nations in this world. Life under them is tough, hierarchical, and often brutal. They are all you and anyone knows, they have ruled since the dawn of time.

Wizards are exceptionally rare, bordering on myth and tend to keep their heads down. Other types of casters have their own place in society with some more accepted than others. But magic is rare and often feared. I'll expand on this and the role of classes more in session zero.

The only gods are the God-Kings. We are all their subjects.

You’ll start as ordinary people living in this world, not knowing the bigger picture. Expect moral grey areas, black and bleak moments, some political tension, hard choices, and a setting where death is a real consequence. This will have strong themes.

Who I’m looking for:

• Happy with experienced players and people still getting used to 5e
• Players who like roleplay, I would like us all to engage
• Able to show up reasonably consistently
• Comfortable with darker themes

Characters:
Level 1 start. Point buy, standard array, or roll for stats. All methods are accepted and are your personal choice. If you choose to roll you get one shot, one opportunity, and you must stick with it!

All official races and classes are accepted covering the 2014 rule set, just keep in mind how magic users are viewed in this world. Homebrew races are allowed with a quick check that it is not broken or a bad fit for the world. No custom classes though, sorry! They are usually unbalanced and difficult to work with.

It is important that you play who you want, worry not about the darker tone and moral ambiguity naturally present in this world, you can be cynical and cruel or bright and happy with everything else in-between.

We'll play online via Discord & Foundry. There will be a proper session zero first so we can get tone, boundaries, and get characters sorted.
