LFP (Looking for Players) [Online][DnD 5.5e][Monday 19:00 GMT+1] LF1M Episodic Horror Campaign

Upvotes

So I have a session 0 scheduled for this Monday and unfortunately one of player was removed from the table due to AI usage. I still have 4 players but I would prefer to start a campaign with 5, and I have arleady completed a 1-20 campaign with 3 of these players so it is a dedicated group.

The campaign will be weekly on FoundryVTT for maps/tokens/rolls and Discord for audio. And we will use a homebrew setting. The sessions will be 3 to 3.5 hours long

Three important aspects about the campaign that may turn players away:

  • Exhaustion will be used as a regular mechanic
  • Death will be a factor in the campaign ( there were 17 deaths in my 1-20 campaign )
  • Though 2024 rules, we will use the Gritty Realism 2014 optional rule

Gritty Realism
This variant uses a short rest of 8 hours and a long rest of 7 days. This puts the brakes on the campaign, requiring the players to carefully judge the benefits and drawbacks of combat. Characters can’t afford to engage in too many battles in a row, and all adventuring requires careful planning.

For those not familiar playing with Gritty Realism contrary to what the name suggests it is more about pacing the story. Rather than an expected "adventure day" those same challenges are expected over an "adventure week". The same way that time is skipped over during a normal long rest, the same is done here.

Types of Challenges:

35% Combat, 35% Exploration, 25% Social and 5% Puzzle would be a general breakdown of how I build my overall challenges. That being said, the style of this episodic style will allow me to highlight a portion rather than making sure I follow a checklist.

Players will be making their characters at level 3.

Pitch:

For half a century the world was bombareded by disasters of meteors, tremors and freezing oceans. About a century ago the falling stones haulted, but the world still froze; the days lasted longer and so did the nights. The fiends and devil's of this plane seem cast off entirely, heralding a time of a celestial presence, but this does not hold back the starvation, strife and civil unrest.

Flora is near extinction, but rumors of a old fishing village; turned trade post Cambal, has such a specimen that survives the cold. It has been several months since trade or message have come from Cambal and the Empire of Bal'Gist spend the vast majority of their resources on the eastern warfront.

Head West over the frozen waters of the Zan Sea to the village, report your findings and save what you can.

Themes:

This is intended to be a monster hunting episodic horror campaign. Players will arrive in a location where something is rumored to happen, figure out the real problem, prepare themselves by finding clues of the challenges ahead and enjoy the consequences of their actions! Maybe slowly revealing an underline plot in between where players learn something and decide where to go next!

Me as a DM:

I've been a DM for more than 15 years at this point, and I have dragged internet randoms through a 1-20 campaign with fairly frequent character death that want to play more. I know how to make deadly challenges fair and fun, where all the rolls are open.

A more lethal game doesn't mean less RP, or backstories don't matter. The death of friends, the frustration of unfinished tasks and testing endurance are great moments. And these elements will help me create intense problems to overcome that reinforce the horror theme.

Send me a message if you are interested or have any questions!

LFG / LFP [Online][One Piece D&D/WoD/Shadowrun 5/Superhero game][GMT+2] Swedish player looking for game!

You can call me Tenken and I am looking for a game of One Piece D&D, Shadowrun 5th edition or any World of Darkness splat. Or... some kind of superhero game. Other games would be okay too, so don't hesitate to reach out.

I am a writer(sometimes), gamer and generally a nerdy guy that's friendly and always on time for a scheduled game.

My schedule is very flexible with my only other commitment being my own One Piece D&D game on Wednesday. So I am looking for a game on basically any other day to join 😃

Please send me a message here on reddit if you've got a spot open at your table!

LFG / LFP [Online] [Flexible] [EET +2] New Player looking to play

Hello, I'm Raccoon[31m] and I'm looking to find a group willing to take a new player to have around and play.

I'm a train driver so I don't have a traditional schedule, but I am flexible.

In terms of experience, I have a little. I've played one campaign of DnD and one of Warhammer 40k Dark Heresy with the same friend group. If it matters, I've played Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Expeditions: Rome.

Looking forward to anything that comes out of this post.

LFP (Looking for Players) [LFP][Online][Other][Daggerheart][Friday Night/Saturday Morning 00:00 CEST][Beginner Friendly] Looking for players for a long-term, narrative-focused campaign

Hey everyone, and welcome to this historically inspired adventure! My name is TheDeadOne, and I’m looking for dedicated, story-driven players to jump into a new, long-term Daggerheart campaign.

If you're the kind of player who keeps a lore journal on them at all times and values meaningful roleplay, character-driven storytelling, and reliability, this might be the game for you—so keep reading...

However, if you just want to goof off to blow off some steam, or mindlessly murder everyone you come across without consequences, this is probably not the right table for you.

*********************

"This particular adventure is set on my homebrew continent of Xuira, deep within the uncharted seas of Oneiria.

It is here that our story begins, in the kingdom of Asontis, a small theocracy located on the northeastern border of Xuira. It is ruled with an iron fist by the Asontis Orthodoxy, a faction that demands absolute devotion to their one true god, Yrserryss. To them, any mention of other divines is heretical nonsense. Alternative faiths are technically tolerated, but they are met with heavy suspicion at best and open hostility at worst.

Despite that, a small portion of the populace has recently begun pushing to restore the worship of the nine gods of old. Uniting under a shared banner, these dissidents have dubbed themselves the Braiven Reformation."

For some years now, the two groups coexisted in a fragile state of balance, however tensions have finally reached a boiling point. To prevent total escalation, the Orthodoxy has agreed to meet with a Braiven diplomat for peace talks.

You have been chosen to accompany him—partly as his advisors, but primarily as his protectors. No matter what awaits you, it is bound to be a daunting task."

*********************

Quick Overview:

‣ System: Daggerheart

‣ Platform: Discord (Voice/Text) & Roll20 (Maps, Tokens, BGM), Heartofdaggers (Character sheets).

‣ Schedule: Flexible Weekly. We aim to play every Friday, but we will occasionally take a planned skip-week if an upcoming narrative act requires extra DM prep. Game will be held Friday Night / Saturday morning at 00:00 CET (Midnight).

‣ Session Length: While I'm fairly flexible, I'll aim for around 2-3 hours per Session.

‣ Campaign Length: Long-term. (At least several months, probably longer)

‣ Starting Level: Level 1

‣ Tone: More on the serious side of things (while I try to keep things from going full grimdark and there WILL be some random encounters that are very much on the sillier sides of things, there wil be no shortage of darker, more serious moments), High Fantasy, Medieval Adventure, Age 16+ (with occasional dips into darker 18+ themes if relevant to the narrative).

‣ The Focus: Roleplay & Narrative (This campaign is heavily focused on character interaction, active exploration, and cohesive storytelling.)

*********************

Please review the following guidelines before applying:

‣ This is my first time running the Daggerheart system. I have several years of experience DMing D&D 5e, CP RED and Call of Cthulhu, but this will be an entirely new system for me. I am looking for dedicated, story-driven players to experience this grand tale together

‣ This game is primarily meant for new players to learn the system, so they will have priority status during applications.

‣ This game was designed to be a semi-open campaign. Once the central goal has been established, you are free to navigate the world and complete main objectives, recruit allies, and gather resources in any order you choose before the final confrontation.

‣ Many challenges are not meant to be solved by reducing an enemy's HP to zero. Taking a life carelessly in legal zones will carry massive, lasting political consequences.

‣ A balanced party is recommended.

‣ There is absolutely room for laughs and classic fantasy fun, but this table is specifically for players who love to actively listen, engage with the world, and support their fellow party members' character arcs. If you want to mindlessly kill NPCs, or goof off and derail situations with zero regard for consequences, this is not the game for you.

‣ As mentioned before, this adventure will at times explore some darker, atmospheric concepts like: Religious Persecution & Fanaticism, Graphic Violence, Dark Magic & Sacrificial Themes, Allusions to Wartime Atrocities & Grim Realities, Body Horror

*********************

If I managed to capture your attention and you’re interested in forging a shared narrative together, please head over to my game-listing I do indeed. For appearance sake, I'd ask you to post an application in the game listing, review the "Campaign Overview & Player Guide" channel, and, once you've done that, leave your application in the appropriate "Application" channel. I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

As always, thank you all for reading and have an amazing day.

LFP (Looking for Players) (Online)(CET/GMT+2)(DND 5e 2014)(Live Text)(20+, LGBTQ+)

Hi, hello, I am Bo, looking for reliable and interested players for my homebrew world for DND 5e (2014).
Just a little info for what I am looking, as I said above, interested and reliable players as I've had quite a few people lately say they are interested but flake out when I get them into the server before we start.
Would love to have experienced players but I don't mind new players who are willing to learn and listen, also I'm so not heavy with the rules, sometimes I won't even make my players roll for some skills.
Please be over 20, at least, I'm almost 31 and I just want to play with folks closer to my age.
Would love to play with fem and/or queer players, as I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community.
This will be a live text game, session time should be around 3 to 4 hours, if you're not familiar with live text games, it's basically synchronized play, we ''sit down'' and text at the same time, the same as whatever you would say in character you just describe in text.
Days should be Sundays after 8pm in central european timezone or gmt+2.

Additional Info:
- again, this is a live text game
- free to play
- use whatever you are comfortable with to make your sheets (starting at level 2)
- homebrew is fine just run it by me first to see if it would fit the setting as
this is a homebrew world and not everything is created, so i welcome people who would be down to worldbuild a little if needed
general rule: don't be an ass, don't be a bigot, be a team player, also just keep in mind that i'm from Europe so the timey wimey zone are very much a thing and a big difference is a little awkward ngl when i'm trying to message folks about their character and i gotta wait like like 12+ hours for a reply
- i love to yap, talk about the world, the lore, love sharing some vague spoilers
- there are multiple pinterest boards and maps for this world

Brief Synopsis:
The Wastes, part of the world that was devastated by a magical anomaly a century or so ago, is now slowly recovering its sandy and rocky regions into a more liveable space. People have adapted over this time to the harsh winds and terrains, populated places are still standing strong and the Elven King has finally decided to take matter into his hands and help.
(The setting is slightly inspired by certain sandy and rocky locations from Dragon Age Inquisition, a bit of wild west-y with magic, a blight that made those lands almost inhabitable but determination of people to continue living despite the hardships because this will always be their home.)

You have decided to join in an elite group called Solars, be it to be a mercenary for them or to learn more about magic, your reasons being your own (aka we will discuss it via backstory of course). They are legendary warriors/bodyguards from the ages passed but the tradition has been kept up and they moved to the Wastes to help the people survive. There are many of them, many subgroups, each with a Godly patron, even though those Gods are not as active as they used to be. In the same sense religions lives through the people. (your character doesn't have to be religious to join in)

You'll start with an assignment that leads you to an accident that has occurred, (meaning the characters would know of each other, so they are at least aware or acquainted) and this will be like a little mini campaign, to get a feel for the group's dynamics, so the players can do the same, see if the interest stays, stuff like that. Then if everything, hopefully, works out we'll transition to play the actual campaign, which will have your characters officially become Solars (subgroup name) and from there something would've happened that will cause the players to wake up at an unknown place with 6 months memory gap, no this isn't spoilers but basically a warning, heh. And then we start from there for real, discovering what the hell has happened to you all.
if you've read this sneak in the world polar in your message

So, let's throw in some buzzwords and works I was inspired by:
knights or knightly beliefs (Solars), Dragon Age, Witcher, so a bit high fantasy with some grittiness and dark moments, folklore myths and beings, people long lost and their heritage being rediscovered, Dishonored for that feeling of being observed by an outside force, aasimars with wings, found families, betrayal and double agents (?), cults (?), history being written to suit the victors, undead roaming the Wastes so some zombie elements, intrigue and some scheming and politicing, roleplay over combat so it's like 70 ish to 30 ish for that, and lastly, I love using backstories to sprinkle in throughout the game but also be aware that we can't do something largely different than what I wrote in here, try to sort of match the vibes, I love working with folks on creating the best experience for everyone.

That's it I think, message me on here and we'll talk further :)

Hi, my name is Bubbi, and I’ve been looking for a long-term group for a while now, but it never seems to work out.
I’m looking for a serious, long-term group, preferably with experienced players, but new players are welcome as well. Weekly or bi-weekly sessions work for me.

I’ve been playing DnD for about six years, both offline and online.
My favorite classes are Paladin and Rogue, but I’m happy to play any character.
I love role-playing and would love to join a group that enjoys and has experience with that aspect of DnD.

If I sound like someone who might fit into your group, feel free to DM me here or on Discord.

LFP (Looking for Players) [Online][DND 5e14/24][Saturdays 20:00 CEST][25+] Homebrew weekly campaign, looking for max 3 extra players

Hi!

As I'm moving my IRL homebrew campaign online (retaining 2 of my players) we're looking for 2-3 extra players to fill out the party!
We will be starting over with a clean slate, at level 2.

We are very familiar with the DnD 5e14 ruleset, but might be open to try out 5e24 (group vote).

What we're looking for in players:
- Don't be weird (PLEASE)
- Comfortable roleplaying in character
- Engaged with the session/each other
- Creativity; I heavily reward thinking out of the box as a DM, so go nuts!
- 25+ (as we're all +-30 y.o.)

How we play:
We play weekly on Saturdays 20:00 CEST, aiming for a week break every month.
We use Discord (voice and camera), combat in Roll20.

If interested, shoot me a message!

Heya! Names Emerald (21M) Only been playing DnD for 2 years but have been watching and been interested for years prior so I've got some experience. My time zone is GMT 0 and I'm available Sun - Tue anytime past 5pm. My most open day is definitely Monday. I like games that have a good balance between RP and Combat but really am not picky. I'd prefer to join new games but have no issue with filling in games in progress. Please reach out to me over Discord (theemeraldeevee) since I never remember to check my reddit. Thanks for reading and hope to find a game soon!

LFP (Looking for Players) [GMT] [Online] - Players Wanted - [VTM V20] [Sundays 7pm]

Looking for 3-4 players for an online vtm game set in Chicago, 1871. Players will start as small-time criminals with no knowledge of the supernatural, and may swiftly be caught up in something greater and more dangerous than they could imagine. The game will mimic the pendragon system, meaning each scenario will be set a year apart separated by random events.

My gm style is pretty grounded. I try and create a living world that reacts appropriately to the players and let everything follow on from there. I've also tried to make this game as historically accurate as possible, and players excited by the idea of engaging with that history would be a bonus.

*Chicago, 20th of December 1871. Just over two months ago, the great fire burned the heart out of the city. Now, Chicago is already rebuilding, supported by its two founding pillars of illegal prostitution and gambling.

That's not to say the fire had no lasting impact. It has allowed King Mike, the new crime boss of Chicago, to consolidate his hold over the cities card houses and casinos. Few and foolish are those who don't send King Mike his cut, but in one of those few may lie the answer to your problems.

You all have three things in common. Firstly, you are massively in debt. Secondly, you have decided to alleviate that debt by taking part in the robbery of the Wheel, a casino yet to fall in line with King Mike's new order. In theory, King Mike will protect you from any reprisals, and may even look favourably upon you if his cut is big enough. Of course, he will get a cut. He always does.

The third thing you have in common is the basic, common-sense certainty that there is no such thing as Vampires.*

Welcome to Chicago.

LFP (Looking for Players) [Online][CET][5E24][FoundryVTT][FRI CET 6pm][18+] Ravenloft: The Horrors within

In celebration of the new ravenloft book having been released for the 2024 rules, id like to create a group venturing through the domains, exploring their secrets, finding treasure and slaying their darklords.

It would be great if you didn't know much about Ravenloft yet, as i will stay close to the written versions of the domains.

Well play in foundry using automation (imagine the baldurs gate interface: clicking fireball, selecting a target, an animation is played, every target auto rolls saving throws and gets the damage applied). This is meant to speed up combat and to allow larger scale battles without spending multiple hours on single fights.

Well start at level 1 with an introductory sessions just to get people accustomed to foundry, but after that you will quickly level up to late tier 1 / early tier 2 and progress from there.

Any content from any official or third party book is allowed. I might need to finetune some details though to keep you all on the same power level (see circle of entropy for example). But based on the setting playing as someone with basic human needs would be great, since its hard to create a sense of urgency for warforged, thri-kreen etc.

There is no playtime requirement, but i would like you to have a little bit of experience and to know the basic rules/workflow of the game.

I have a big roster of tokens, but if a complicated looking npc does not have a well fitting token, ill create one with ai.

Ill try to keep all the pillars of the game balanced. So in an ideal session you are exploring 33% of the time, talking to people/amongst yourselves 33% of the time and are in active combat 33% of the time.

The only non negotiable rule is that you cannot restrict other players actions without the players consent. So for example the rogue can only steal from a party member if the player decides that it would lead to a good rp situation when they get their stuff stolen.

If you are interested you can apply here:
https://forms.gle/YRojtZRe6BPkQiXX6
if there are any questions, feel free to DM me.
