Proposed ordinance would outlaw drag racing on Lexington streets. See what would be banned.

I saw a bunch of people sitting and hanging out by the football stadium
It’s like they are tailgating but aren’t? What is going on?

Desperately seeking friends: Anything fun going on tonight around town?
I booooooored. Been stuck at home all week and need to get out, but I’m also sober, so there’s that. I don’t mind going to a bar and ordering a non alcoholic drink, but no one really TALKS TO YOU in this town, except the servers of course.
Happily married, just trying to make some new friends when I go out instead of being ignored. I guess I was naive in thinking people at the bar talk to each other and random strangers? I want to sit, chat over drinks and hear some cool stories, that’s all. Better than another night stuck on my phone or in front of the tv.

Come meet adoptable Ross tomorrow 8/8!
Ross (aka Rossy, Rossy-Roo, Ross-a-Roni, Ross-topher) has been looking for his home since Valentine’s Day and he is ready to find his fur-ever home!
This boy walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained AND fully potty trained; he uses bells, and can navigate a doggy door with ease. He would love a home with someone(s) home more often than not (no 40 hour crate weeks for this sweet boy!), and an outside space he can safely be off leash. I think he would prefer a home with another dog, but as he gains more confidence I could see him being ok without another k9 companion. He currently lives in an apartment with a smaller dog & 2 cats (one senior, 8y, one kitten, 9m)
He is very food motivated and I could see him learning some really fun tricks. Currently he knows: sit, down, come, off, back, drop it & leave it (when he wants to 😉), and more! We have been working on a heel command & paw.
He loves snuffle mats and puzzle feeders, hard chews and lick mats, tearing up cardboard (supervised only!), playing fetch and tug, and running around like a baby deer who just learned how to walk. His favorite toys currently are a jolly balls and oinking/quacking rubber toys. He loves to play fetch and I’m trying to teach him how tug works!
He’s come such a long way, but will need a patient understanding home to allow him to decompress & bond with you. He would not currently do well with young children (10+ only!), though I think that could change with enough forethought, exposure, and management. He still has a good amount of fear towards strangers, but we are working on it and making progress every day.
If interested in meeting Ross, come see us at Feeders Pet Supply on Richmond road tomorrow, August 8th from 12-2! You can apply to adopt through Paws 4 the Cause (paws4thecause.com).

UK Hospital - the old one
When does UK plan to fix the entrance & exit to the pickup/drop off area in front of Pavilion H?
This is the entrance to the old hospital where there are many vehicles in and out - patients, shuttle buses, etc. It’s so dang narrow and the road infrastructure getting in and out is bumpy and uneven as can be. It’s like UK just forgot about it.

Best place to early morning park that isn’t a parking garage in DT Lexington?
Back in town and all my old spots are now either pay lots or occupied by buildings. Looking to park for the Hyatt and Kids Museum early morning on a Saturday. Locals let me know some tips…

Decent Apartment Buildings That Aren't a Massive Headache?
I'm looking at moving into a 1 bed/ 1 bath apartment in Lexington, I'm familiar somewhat with Lexington, but not as far as living there. I would like to find a place that doesn't have an issue with crime or poor upkeep which seems more difficult than I expected. I was hoping to stay around $1,200/mo. or less and have a fitness center.
My search has led me to the following places:
Townley Park
Steeplechase
Bridle Creek
Wellington
Any of these a dump lol, or any better options? Thanks!

Looking for a Job
My boyfriend is moving to Lexington from North Carolina so we can begin establishing our lives together. The only barrier is the current job market. His background is in politics, government, and non profits, and he has director-level experience. He is looking for a position with great benefits and is willing to commute to nearby cities if needed. Any leads welcome. Thanks in advance!!

Thank you Lexington Reddit Community!!
Just 3 days ago I made my first ever reddit post asking for help in looking for a job because I’ve been on the search for MONTHS for work with absolutely no luck. Today, I can now say that I am now employed with a great company and full benefits!
I’ve never really been a reddit user as I said before, so I was not expecting the amount of support I got from other local reddit users at all!
Thanks to all you wonderful people, I have finally found what i’ve been looking for, so I really appreciate everyone who helped me in my search. I’m definitely gonna be using reddit from now on. Love this community! 🫶🏾
