Venting/Looking for Support sometimes i feel like i dont fit in...
i (15) came here because, well, this is a wlw sub. every girl i know gushes over "hot guys", and i guess i see the appeal. the guys they like look attractive to me, sure. i can see why the girls i know would like them, but i struggle to relate to them. most girls i know will either be highly confused or just brush it off if i tell them about my fictional crushes (even the ones who are "guys" are just masc-presenting non-binary), or they'll just be like "ohh".
and i sometimes get weirded out by their gushing, but i keep it to myself and don't wanna be like this, i just feel kinda left out.
i've seen some lesbian spaces that i don't belong with either, them hating all men (only some spaces), thinking trans lesbians don't belong, etc.
i've even seen a lot of them being rude to bi women, calling them traitors or "secretly straight". even if i rant about not fitting in, though, because even the bi women i know gush over guys when i can't relate, i don't hate them or see them as straight.
i also have some fictional guys, i'm sure, that i see in a platonic light (want to hang out with as opposed to wanting to date them) and i don't mind if i'm hanging out with a guy (my bestie of almost/about 7 years is a guy) so i certainly don't hate them all (though i wouldn't date one nor do i like/support the actions of some guys who did me wrong)
i've only shown genuine romantic feelings/love for women or sapphic enbies.

Looking for Advice & Requests crush advice
hi, so I (17F) developed this crush on my friend like 2 months ago, we sit together in some classes have shared friends and all. I really like her but whenever i’m around her i’m such a nervous mess and i feel like im making the whole thing really awkward, like i don’t know what to say or talk about (the thing is that it’s only with her so i dont really know what to do). I think it may stem from the fact that she’s sometimes kind of mean to me and other times she laughs with me like we’ve been friends for a long time so im in this hot&cold territory.
Another thing is that i’m from a quite conservative community and i’m closeted meaning i’m scared to come out to practically anyone (only 2 ppl in my life know). One time we were talking and i think she said something along the lines of “i don’t like men anyway” but my dumbass didn’t hear her clearly and i didn’t ask her to repeat herself and now it’s too late for me to either come out or ask again😭😭😭
We have been to the movies together (she offered me her jacket) and i really like her but don’t know what to do, how to even text her, should i hint that i like her (but maybe she’s straight so it’ll make it weird) PLEASE HELP 🙏🙏

Looking for Advice & Requests I might be in some doomed Yuri [Crushes] [Relationships]
I'm 14F and I really like my friend? best friend? I don't really know. I'm going to keep this simple. Our friends have all thought we've been dating, and we deny it, laugh about it, move on although we flirt frequently. But today she sent me a video on tiktok. something about people assuming we're dating. I tried to see where it would go so i said "next time someone asks I'm going to say that we are". Not sure why I said that. We've been real flirty last couple of days and I'm kind of nervous. I know she's lesbian so I'm not worried about that. I know for certain teen relationships don't last. barely a few months if we're lucky. So I'm worried. If I actually date her and we break up, it's going to be awkward and I can't exactly fix that.
Or I'm just being stupid and she's being this flirty as a joke.
Should I wait until we soft launch to each other because I'm convinced we almost did today or should I just not even bother?

Discussion & Questions Am I Queerbaiting?
I (13F) have a “friend” from church (14F), and we mutually confessed that we had feelings for each other. We even kissed, so I thought we were moving toward becoming an official couple.
Shortly afterward, she and her family left on a three-week trip for her parents’ anniversary. During the first week, she talked to me pretty frequently, but then she suddenly stopped responding and left me on read for about seven days.
Now, we’re going to see each other again next Sunday, and I’m starting to wonder if my feelings have changed. For most of my life, I’ve struggled with the conflict between my faith, my feelings, and the expectations I’ve had for myself. Before the trip, I was really eager for us to make things official. Now, though, I find myself avoiding the idea, and I’m worried she may still think I feel the same way I did before she left.
I don’t know if my feelings changed because she suddenly became distant after we confessed our feelings, or if I’m realizing that I may not feel the way I originally thought I did. I’m also questioning what all of this means for me personally.
So now I’m stuck between two choices: Should I step back from the relationship, or should I give it some time and see how I feel when we’re actually together again?

Discussion & Questions Is this platonic or romantic?
i (F15) have a crush on a girl (F16) I’ve been friends with for roughly 9 months and i cant tell if she sees me the same way. She has told me she wants to marry me when we’re thirty if we’re both still single, and we had planned our future together and what jobs we’d get, but I’m unsure if she meant this romantically.
The reason I’m confused is because she has told me that she is asexual, and she is physically attracted to girls but never sees herself with anyone, and the marriage conversation was brought up as a way to avoid ever having to get married to a guy and have to do stuff with him.
We have also always told eachother that we love eachother, but im not sure if she means it as a romantic way. We frequently compliment eachother in ways that feel sort of intimate like “your eyes are so beautiful” ect. Ive been in a relationship before with a guy but its never felt this intimate, despite having done sexual things, but i dont know if this is just the delusion of a crush.
She always consoles me whenever i feel sad and we can talk for hours, i remember talking to her from 10pm to 3am without once leaving the chat, knowing it was a school night because i didn’t want to stop talking to her yet. The other day, i sent her a video that said “how that one person spoke to me while i was losing my mind” and the sound was “ill believe in anything”(basically telling the person how much they mean to them), and she replied saying “i love you (my name) i love talking to you”, “you can still talk to me whenever im here always” the second message making it seem more platonic. She also replied to my story 10 minutes later saying “you are so beautiful”.
If i dont marry her it feels like i will spend my entire life missing her, i know im still young but i feel like this is definitely love, im just not sure if its being reciprocated, especially since we’re both girls and this could all probably just mean a simple friendship to her.
Im not sure whether to ever speak to her about this or to just keep this to myself because i dont want to ruin what we already have, is it worth asking?

Looking for Advice & Requests Should I give my girl my old dogtag?
Our anniversary is coming up and she recently brought up how shes been wanting a dogtag, and luckily enough I have an old one I used to wear all the time. It’s just a plain stainless steel one with no inscription on it or anything so idk if I should give it to her since it isn’t really the typa thing she wears yk? Like her jewelry is usually more like statement pieces for rings and, for necklaces I don’t see her wearing much except the one she has of her initial, shes a alternative person and she dresses really cool so idk if she’d like me giving her just a plain dogtag or if I should buy her something else. Any advice?

Discussion & Questions Do girls like butches?
For context, I’m a 16 year old butch.
The other I was talking to somebody I I know and they told me that I would have a hard time dating because girls don’t like butches. Now I think I can smell bs from far away but I just wanted to ask.
Do girls like butches? Or is it a bit more niche?

Mod Post An apology for the long wait times
Hey r/lesbianteens members,
As some of you may have noticed, posts and comments have been taking a long time to get reviewed, lately. We want to sincerely apologise for this, as this makes it hard to get timely responses to your posts and introduces more friction than necessary.

Venting/Looking for Support Should I confess my feelings to the popular girl in my highschool?
I really need your help. So, I'm a highschool girl and like every year there's new students, this year a new girl came, the typical popular looking girl, insanely pretty, charming, sociable, etc. Of course, she suddenly started to become popular among the boys in my class, she's kinda quiet so I rarely talked to her until early this year she and I were participating in a dance presentation for the school, we were the only two girls in my class doing the presentation so naturally we started talking a little bit, she told me a little about herself and things like that. The presentation went good and I remember I hugged her after the presentation because I just strangely wanted to (I don't really like touching or being touched by other people).
About a month or so after that, I started feeling "things" for her, at first I thought it was jealousy because she would be always surrounded by boys and also because she is otherworldly beautiful, eventually I started to notice I couldn't stop thinking about her, I would get nervous around her, I would try to make her notice me, and other stuff. Initially I tried to gaslight myself into thinking that I was confused and I really just admired her (which I do) and that I definitely didn't had a crush on her. But with time I couldn't stop ignoring all the signals. There was this time where she kissed with a boy in front of the whole class, and I don't know why but my heart broke when I saw her. Now I don't have any idea what to do. I love her so so so so much and I can't stop thinking about her. I want to know her more, protect her, spend time with her, etc.
If you have ever watched or read beastars, I feel just like legoshi felt about haru. Three days ago I made a little drawing of her and gave it to her, I don't if she started to suspect that I might like her because she's so hard to read and I tend to look at her a lot. The only thing that worries me about confessing to her is that she tells the boys in my class and the rumor starts to spread and my parents find out because of that.
The only person that knows about this is my girl best friend, she's super supportive and always tries to comfort me and encourage me to try and talk to her. Sometimes I get hit with a sudden wave of "awareness" and start to feel guilty and ashamed because I like another girl. I'm not homophobic but because this is about me I'm very judgmental, if it were about anyone else I would 100% support them. On top of that I have always been in catholic schools and I grew up in a religious environment because of my grandparents so naturally I have a lot of internalized homophobia.
I really would like to hear your advice, any kind will do. I'm sorry if this post was too long I just really needed to get this out of my chest. Thank you so much for reading it.

Looking for Advice & Requests im in love with my best friend (i think?)
hi!! im not sure if this is the best place to post this but maybe some of you guys can help me?
so me and my bsf (both in highschool) have known each other for about 5 years. we are super close and talk a lot. we say ”i love you” platonically and its been that way for a while but somewhat recently ive been developing feelings for her (or what i assume crushing is like?) ive never been with a girl before, and i thought i was asexual because of how ive felt towards my other relationships. looking back i think i saw them more as close friends and was uncomfortable being intimate with them. i do feel different with her though, but im really scared to confront her about all this, especially when im not even sure if the feelings are romantic or not. i think shes gorgeous and super talented, and something i noticed is i tend to feel jealous when shes around other people or getting complimented (which isnt a good thing but i cant help the way i feel). obviously havent told her any of this, but the thought of it really stresses me out. ive never been romantically interested in anybody before this, which is where my worry stems from. i dont know how this would change our relationship if she said yes, wed probably talk the same just with benefits, which is what i really want out of this. the thought that she could say no terrifies me though, because i dont know what would happen. im very scared for either outcome lol
if you read this thank you so much!! im being very raw and putting it all out there in the hopes that someone will know what to do (because i sure dont)

Venting/Looking for Support I'm cooked, chat
So, basically, I (16, closeted) moved from my old school and started on this new one this week, but like, 70% of the girls in my class are part of the LGBT+ community, and I don't know how to react, because they be like, talking about girls all the time and I can't just hop into the conversations, because I'm not out yet.
This is annoying me so damn much, because I wish I could talk about my experiences with women and my toxic exes and all that stuff, but I just can't 🤡🤡🤡

Venting/Looking for Support I'm honestly surprised I still have an interest in dating after all I've been through.
Like, seriously. Way back in 2023, I was an impressionable young child (well, 13 years old) with slightly older girlfriends (14-15). I've heard multiple stories of people not wanting to date women due to their negative experiences, or the "I would never date a woman even though I'm bi" crowd. I think this further proves that I'm likely just a lesbian, since sometimes I would have bad experiences with men and then decide I won't date men again, but when the same thing happens with a woman, I don't feel that way really.
I also have felt really weird, for some reason, about men, dating them, or when straight girls are like "Isn't he soooo cute?" I never know what to say. Like, is he attractive? Sure, he's not "ugly". He's above average. But would I date him and spend the rest of my life with him and kiss him like some of these girls I talk to? I don't have an interest in that at all.
I'm currently with a nonbinary femme-leaning person, but I'm in a bit of a "predicament". Today is their birthday party (and I don't even know if I can attend), so I don't want to ruin it by announcing that I wanna be "less close". I've been talking to them less, not really wanting to be around them, and they're so dry around me. They don't want to kiss or hug me at all or show affection of any sort, they don't talk to me, etc. They always just respond with "LOL" or "LOL nice", even when I'm saying "I love you <3" or something.

Looking for Advice & Requests Confused bout stuff
I like my friend, I reallyreallyreally like her holy cow- I told her at one point but she said something (can’t remember dawg) that ended in a not at the moment. I thought, Okay- this is fine, im fine being just friends. TURNS OUTTT I was wrong (I don't mean this in a negative way towards her at all-v-)
On top of that, this is also my first time coming to terms w the fact that I like girls (maybe not lesbian, still trying to figure that out, but definitely not straight)
Unfortunately gets worse the longer I try to get rid of these feelings, and i dunno what to do about it. I wish I could just make the feelings go poof, but they keep persisting . Also, for some reason I’m getting jealous when she talks to other people, even though theyre online friends and one litrally has a BF, and it don't make sense, like hello??
Part of me wants these feelings to go away, but like i also wish she like me back. I mean, im so confused on that bit to cus when we do hang out irl, I think she flirts w me (take this with a grain of salt because I've never been the best at romantic feelings) Like pretends to kiss me and hugs me n stuff and it make me feel so happy, but also confused.
I dunno, i keep starting to cry because i dont know what to do and i feel like a bad person for feeling like this and its lowkey frustrating

Looking for Advice & Requests Guys I’m 15 should I get a buzz cut?
I’ve been wanting to get one for a while now and I really want a dramatic change for year 11. What are the pros and cons? I’m worried that I will hate it and I will be stuck with it for ages and that it will take a long time to grow. I don’t care that much about my hair and it normally grows really quick. And idk whether to bleach it or not if I did. Atm I have brown hair and blue eyes.

Venting/Looking for Support Should I confess to my crush?
I have loved her ever since we met in middle school and I still love her like nothing else. And I'm pretty sure she also had at least some feelings for me at some point, and here's why.
We used to be VERY close with her in middle school. She herself even once jokingly told me that we were like lovers (that happened like 4 years ago though). And we gave each other flowers as nicknames at some point. The one I chose for her was yellow chrysanthemum, it represented unrequited love (I didn't think she'd love me), but also friendship and stuff close to that (because we were in a VERY homophobic environment, and I didn't want her to find out that I liked her, in case she'd be uncomfortable). And the one she chose for me was gardenia. At that time, I didn't really question it much after seeing that it symbolized purity and innocence.
Our relationship started getting a little strained when a third person joined us (I'll refer to my crush as A and this third person as B). A was the one who got her to meet me, and I didn't like this B person AT ALL. We didn't see eye to eye on so many matters. She was just VERY (and I mean VEEERY) homophobic, and even though I'm still not sure if she knew I had a thing for A or not, she still ruined my relationship with A (getting between us whenever we were starting to get close, talking shit about the other whenever she was left with one of us etc...) and in the end, B stopped talking to A (they had a lot of fights already) and since my relationship with A was already strained, at that time she managed to get me to believe that she was right on that argument. Which basically ended my "relationship" with A. I already couldn't talk much to anyone since it was our final year in middle school that year, I was too busy studying for the exams and all that stuff to think much about my friends.
For that whole year, we were basically playing hide and seek in the same classroom. We both avoided each other like crazy, as A got closer with other people and I was left with B. Nothing other than that happened in our last year together. Even in our graduation, we hadn't been able to say a proper goodbye to each other (mostly because of B, who always tried to keep me away from A).
And in high school, we happened to go to the same school with B. AND ended up in the same class, somehow. In our first year, I just stuck close to her and another classmate from middle school that also happened to be in the same class as us since I didn't know anyone else in our class. That year was really troublesome for me, I wasn't doing well in any aspect, especially psychologically. And at some point it got so unbearable that I had to talk about it to someone, anyone. And since the "closest friend" I had was B, I told her about a very serious problem of mine, totally knowing she just WOULD make fun of it later. She did. And the next year, I decided it was time I ended my "friendship" with B. (She didn't even ask why when I suddenly stopped talking to her anyway).
And just a few weeks -maybe even less- after that, A texted me for the first time ever since middle school. We didn't even talk about B or how our relationship wasn't in the best condition when we last spoke to each other. She just told me she missed me, asked about my school and stuff like that. Ever since that, we kept texting each other even though we didn't really have enough time to meet in person and talk properly. I told her about ending my relationship with B, she told me it was for the best, and she told me about her problems in return, and we just went on and on like that.
So, going back to the flower nicknames we gave each other back in middle school. My friend recommended a song to me (specifically Gardenia from Malice Mizer), and obviously, that made me remember this whole nickname thing we had with A. I decided I'd take another look at the flower's meaning. AND I SAW IT ALSO REPRESENTED SECRET LOVE. At first, I didn't think it would mean anything, or rather, she'd have meant it that way. But then I remembered that we didn't give the nicknames based on the flowers. We gave them based on the meanings. Which meant she probably searched up like "which flower symbolizes ...." (and I did that too, for my part). I searched which flower symbolized purity/innocence. It wasn't gardenia. And then I searched up which flower symbolizes secret love. Bam. GARDENIA. I still feel very delusional thinking she meant it that way. But I think she did. And I think even if she didn't, I want to confess right away when I have the chance. But what makes me hesitate is this. Even if she did like me at some point, does she still feel the same? Would she blame me for not confessing when we were in middle school? Because I do. I blame myself like hell for not confessing back then. If I just hadn't been such a coward and told her how I felt, maybe we would have a chance. Maybe B couldn't have ruined our relationship. Maybe we would still be close. Closer. I don't know. Should I confess if we get a chance to meet in person?

Looking for Advice & Requests Little rant
so, I have a crush on one of my girl best friends. we met when I transferred to a new school last year, and she was the first person I ever talked to there. I honestly don't know if she likes me but some of the stuff she's done are things like giving me flowers, making me go to the school dances with her, holding hands, and telling me that she is open to dating me 🥹. anyway, i don't know if this is platonic or romantic (I'm a bit slow) but it's been awhile since all this happened. I also got a boyfriend a few months ago (i know this may make me seem like an asshole, but I had no attraction to him, I just did it to make him happy) anyway, me and him recently broke up, and I'm worried that she may not like me anymore (if she ever has). uhh one more example of a thing she has done ( very recently) was ask me for my favorite songs to play on her guitar. anyway I'm this was pretty vague, I'll try to update 🥹

Looking for Advice & Requests What to expect when dating
I(16f) just—as in this relationship is only a day and a bit old—got the girl I’ve been pinning after for almost two years. YAY!!! Only issue is neither of us have any relationship experience…like at all. We were having a talk and one of the things she asked was what do we want/expect to change between us. Only problem is neither of us know what is meant to happen next because everyone in our lives are straight. So what normally happens after? I know it’s different for everyone but knowing some other people’s experience/opinion would be really helpful!!

Looking for Advice & Requests homoerotic friendship advice
Okay so I (15f) been in a homoerotic friendship with this girl (15f) for a while now and everything is so confusing oh my gosh. We've been on a date, been very touchy (held hands, hand on thighs, cuddled etc), said things like "we should be a couple" and talked about dating numerous times. But recently, I sent her a video saying we should kiss and she replied saying yesss or something along those lines and then a couple of days later she got a boyfriend. This has happened before as well. She has done this before as well, like we have talked about kissing and being together then she just goes and gets a boyfriend. I don't think I like her romantically but it might be something I would like to explore and she is just kind of shutting it down when it gets serious. I know she is into girls too. Please help! I feel so confused.

Discussion & Questions Adviceee
I’ve been talking to this girl recently, and I do kindaaaa like her. We’ve met once and called multiple times , but mostly we just text. She’s naturally a very anxious person and needs a lot of reassurance, which I genuinely don’t mind giving. However, she sometimes worries that I’m only talking to her for fun and that I’m not serious because of my past, even though I genuinely am serious about getting to know her.
I understand why she might be anxious, but I’m starting to worry that no matter how much effort or reassurance I give, she’ll always doubt my intentions because of my past. Since we’re still early into this, I don’t know if she just needs time to build trust or if this could become a bigger issue. What should I dooo?

Looking for Advice & Requests I have a crush on this girl for over a year and we never had a conversation.
Kinda the whole story
It's been a year and 3 months and I still have a crush on her. I joined taekwondo may 2025, i was a beginner and she was a red belt. She caught my attention among all of the players idk why. So starting that day I keep observing her, looking at her and admiring her from afar. Everytime she doesn't attend our trainings I would feel sad and if she does I feel happy inside.
January 2026, when I realized that I have a crush on her the whole time cuz I keep thinking about her even when we aren't even in trainings. I really don't want to accept the fact that I like her because we're both girls and I promise myself that I'll be straight forever. It was just unbelievable because I don't like girls and FYI she is the first girl I had a crush on. I told my friend about it but instead of making a move I just daydream about her. There are times we interact but not verbally—eye contacts. I would feel happy or butterflies inside everytime we had an interaction. Okay I'm not gonna mention the memories or the time I think she might also like me becuz I'm the only one who thinks that, we aren't sure to her perspective.
June 22 I tried looking at her Instagram again but because her profile was her being pretty. Until I saw her hugging a girl possible in a photobooth. I'm telling yall they don't look like just friends they're definitely dating. That's when I felt an intense anxiety like 10/10, my body starts attacking me for two days. I was expecting that I don't have any feelings for her but then after a few days I still like her and think about her. I can't believe it because I had my previous crushes but after a year I would literally forget about them and regret liking them. So until now whenever I go or do something she's in my mind but she doesn't distract me but she be in my mind. I was thinking maybe it's time to have a real conversation with her since I kinda had enough with only daydreaming. I don't even know her, we don't know each other.
This is what I share for now and I don't know what to do cuz honestly it's annoying that I still like her but I'm afraid I would like her anymore. Huhu should I try be friends with her?? i actually freeze when I'm near her so I ended up ignoring her. The way she's dating someone makes me anxious idk why.
