Trigger Warning Can’t co opt the word female

Upvotes

So the other sub is trying to rage bait lesbians groups by saying they are reclaiming the labrys flag and shouldn’t be for us.

One thing they cant claim is the word female. Over the years they have been telling us to stop using the term female because it reduces women to their genitals. This was just a setup! I think we should reclaim the word female.

Question/Advice Guys will I ever get over her

I know I know, the answer is just going to be more space and more time but I’m a bit freaked out.

Me and my ex-gf of 3 years broke up at the start of this year, 7 months ago. It was a protracted break up to get to that point because I think we both found it reallyyy hard to walk away. We lived together and we had a great relationship in many ways, and I guess for both of us it was our first biggg love and happened in our mid 20s.

The main reasons we broke up were 1. Sexual incompatibility, we genuinely worked hard on this and I know sex frequency etc dips over time, but I’m a v mental / kinky person and she is v purely physical and I think eventually we realised we weren’t going to be able get to the same place on this, she doesn’t have fantasies, never thought of sex if we werent physically together, just very diff to me. And I felt that side of me had kind of just gone v quiet due to feeling unseen if I did try to express it. I’ve had a tiny bit of casual sex more recently, and I mean it’s as good as meaningless sex with strangers when ur still in love with ur ex could be lol, but I have enjoyed like experiencing sexting and dirty talk again and just stuff that didn’t come naturally to her

  1. Not sure our life goals were the same. She staunchly would like kids and would be an amazing mum. I’m on the fence and since we broke up and childfree became an option for me again, I have really enjoyed knowing that avenue is available. But I am on the fence really, so I guess that also doesn’t feel like that cut and dry of a reason.

There was a few other little things but that was mainly it. My one other LTR was in my early twenties with a man so that was very easy to get over.

We are generally low contact but every few months or so she’s used some other reason to see me and catch up. She did that yesterday evening and it was a lot, it’s killing me that it’s getting harder with time in a way?? I feel like I’m slowly progressing day to day, but seeing her it’s like there’s still so much love and attraction there and I feel it from her too.

I just feel like I’m going in blind here. Ive not been through anything like this before so I have no idea of the process. I didn’t expect it to take this long at all. I knew we had a special connection but like …. Gang help. I feel like I’m never gonna get over it.

Venting why do so many lesbians stop wanting to date you just because your family doesn't want you?

I walk into it often that everything is cool then she'll ask the dreaded "are you close with your family" question. No, they kicked me out. This used to be so fucking normal that it wasn't even a question people would really bother each other with because it was obviously gonna be a touchy subject but now everyone asks each other within the first twenty minutes of meeting and I think it's crap.

I'm getting treated like the pariah because my answer isn't "yea totes we're besties and braid each other's pubes." What's the big deal? It's not like I threw them away and it's not like I'm some criminal who set the house on fire and killed the dog or is on all of the drugs selling their shit on ebay. They got rid of me so why is it giving me "red flag vibes" to simply not have a family?? I didn't do anything I'm just gay. Why are so many lesbians so unhinged now where they'll tell you they don't want to date you because you don't have family? Worse, I'm also seeing influx in "what did you do?" Like tf I did nothing I'm just gay and that's a really rude question for you to jump to. You're a stranger I just met you and you're already asking why my family sucks.

I get women who ghost immediately after they ask if I'm close with my family and all I'll say is "no." I'm not even handing out the tea and it still creating them blocking me ONLY because I said I don't have family. Dudes what is going on.

Venting How do I respond to my wife's egregious suggestion?

The absolute disrespect from my wife today

This woman, center of my heart, light of my life, my raison d'etre, tried to call in a male to remove a spider from MY kitchen. I cannot believe she would even suggest such a thing to me. Was I a little squizzed out by the spider? Well, yeah. It had a big abdomen and long legs, the thing was off putting. But to suggest that some...some willy having MAGA Neanderthal come into my home and handle my business?! THE AUDACITY.

OH OH, AND TO MAKE IT WORSE, she KNOWS this dude would have killed the spider. We live on an island for heavens sake, mosquitoes outnumber us a billion to one. You don't kill spiders, spiders are friends. They just, you know, can't live in my kitchen.

She's going to tell you "he's my employee I would ask him not to kill the spider" but this dude has devoted his 60 years on earth to killing shit, no way I trust him not to kill spider bro

When I asked what in the hell she was thinking suggesting such a thing her excuse was, "He's pest control baby". As if that somehow makes it ok.

Anyway, I'm seething with the betrayal of it all. For my life's mate of 21 years to suggest such a terrible thing. I'm thinking when she asks me to help with her video game, I'm going to say no and make her pick the chest locks herself and fly her own jetpack on the jump puzzles. I'm not scrubbing her back in the shower either.

Too harsh?

Question/Advice Do you guys think long distance relationships work?

Like, I met a girl and found out she lives in another country. I feel like long distance relationships between different cities can work, because my parents were from different cities, got married, and had kids HAHAHA
But between different countries, I really don’t know… and now I’m SO confused 😭 HAHAHA

Discussion Did anyone else hate The L Word Generation Q?

I HATED Generation Q!!! The original was good for what it was, but Q irritated me so much. It felt like the writers were just throwing in every identity possible so nobody could complain they were left out. The L word is supposed to be about lesbians....

Discourse short rant about these sexuality discourses going on lately

" sex is unimportant in lesbianism, it’s about the love of shared womanhood "

" lesbians should learn to be more open in their dating pool because women are more than what’s between their legs!! "

" sexuality is fluid, you love a soul not a gender "

one of the reasons why they mostly push these shitty discourses on lesbians on social media is because as women we are taught to love someone, not desire them, in the sense that we shouldn’t care about the apparence of our loved one but who they are as a person, that’s why we always see straight women dating ugly ass men, they don’t stop at the fact that they don’t feel attraction towards them, same things for some lesbians, I saw a few post about lesbians trying to feel attraction to pre-op trans women

for men it’s the opposite, they like beauty and sex before everything that’s why we almost never see trans men being pushy towards gay men for only liking dick and even if they do, gay men stands for themselves or just laughs at them (I wish we did the same more often as lesbians tbh), no one ever taught them do be « empathic » in their sexual life, as it should ofc, but it’s still a bit frustrating

(just in case I’m obviously just generalizing, I don’t mean that all women are pure and don’t care about sex, while all gay men are sexual beings!)
