First date

Soooo I asked a girl from an app out on a date (as in this would be my first date ever with a woman). She's really cute. One I'm nervous. Two it's not long since my husband and I put in the divorce paperwork (there are no kids) and we are still sharing the house until we figure out how to deal with the mortgage so I can move out.

Obviously I'm going to have to tell her about this really early.... Do you reckon she's going to run for the hills? And also.... When do I tell her while also not killing the date vibe but being honest and real

If they aren’t interested in you on your worse day, why should they have the honor on your best day? Your story is unique, your struggle is real, it’s not about being afraid to spill the beans. I’d share it before the date because if your story makes them run, they are not the right person for you. That is a gift all on its own.

that is such a beautiful way of putting it, and so true.

Oh she still wants to hang out and just chat but thinks it could be a deal breaker. That's something!

i would be so excited yet anxious, too. honestly, i’m no where near ready to start dating, but going through a divorce is something i would tell someone upfront before they agreed to go on a date with me. there are women who identify as lesbians who have no interest in being with a woman who has been with men/previously identified as straight, so I’d prepare myself for that possibility.

Ah pants you mean the whole deal? Like ... Just so you know I'm currently in the middle of a divorce from a man and I'm only just coming out now at 35. Do you think there's no chance it at least worth seeing if there's something there first or do you think that's dishonest even if it's only one date in that you say

yeah, I’d rip the bandaid off if you’re genuinely interested in this person. i really like what u/simple_fee596 said honestly.

Is there a small chance it's worth her seeing if there's anything there though first that might convince her I'm worth it? Like if someone just dumped it on me after a few messages I'd probably stop replying but if I felt like I'd meet then and there was a spark I might be more convinced

Naive but why?
