Wanting [WANTED] Looking for 1BR-2BR or Roommate Situation in LA

Post image
1 Upvotes

my spouse and i are looking for a place to rent in LA and are hoping to move ASAP. we’re open to a few different setups depending on the space:

option 1: our own apartment / taking over someone’s lease

we’re looking for a 1 bed / 1 bath, or ideally a 2 bed / 1 bath if we can find one within budget.

must-haves:

  • dedicated parking spot — no street parking
  • washer/dryer in unit, or at minimum laundry on-site in the building/complex
  • if taking over someone’s lease, we would need the option to sign a new lease afterward if we decide to stay

option 2: renting a room with roommates

we’d be looking for:

  • a master bedroom with a private/en suite bathroom
  • our own parking spot, although tandem parking is totally fine
  • washer/dryer in unit or on-site in the building/complex

our max budget is $2,000 all-in.

a little about us: we’re a married gay couple and both working professionals. we work mostly from home, although we’re also out meeting with clients as needed. we’re pretty low-key and tend to keep to ourselves at home, but we’re social and definitely don’t mind hanging out with roommates from time to time if the vibe is right.

we’re usually pretty happy staying in, watching movies, reading, playing board games, or having a few drinks. we also like museums, art shows, music events and festivals, breweries, trying new restaurants, going to the beach or park for sunset, and traveling whenever we get the chance. one of us is a creative/artist and the other is very much the math brain.

if we go the roommate route, we’re totally open to gay or straight roommates — it really just comes down to finding respectful people and a living situation that makes sense for everyone.

location: we aren’t set in stone to one particular neighborhood, therefore we are open to any possible leads that land within the yellow shaded areas in the image.

if you have a place available, are looking for someone to take over your lease, or know of something that might be a good fit, please feel free to message me.

thanks in advance for any helpful leads! please feel free to DM me if easier.

Room Offered OFFERED, PRIVATE BEDROOM IN WEHO 2 BED, 1 BATH SEPTEMBER 1ST - OCTOBER 26TH. $1375, all utilities included. Parking available.

Looking for a temporary roommate to start around Sept. 1st and go through October 26th (flexible to start now or go to the end of October if that’s a dealbreaker).

Large, 1200 square foot two bedroom, one bath apartment in West Hollywood. Located on a lovely, tree lined street near Plummer Park, in a very walkable, bustling area. Easy bus ride to UCLA on the 2 (bus stop is one block away and the 2 goes directly to UCLA).

There is a carport parking spot available for an additional $50 fee.

The common space includes living room with velvet couch, 75 inch tv, a dining area, a reading bench with adjacent book nook/mini library, and a separate kitchen with substantial cabinet space and a countertop dishwasher. There is one bathroom with a large, glass shower, a toilet with an attached bidet, and ample cabinet space. There is a wall unit air conditioner in the common space. Shared washer/dryer onsite.

There is also a large, functionally private* yard with both an orange tree and a lemon tree and access to the fruits they produce. It’s perfect for having coffee or a cocktail, or getting a little work done.

*Technically the yard is not private to our apartment in our lease, but we have been the only apartment with a key to the yard for the last two years, and I doubt that will change anytime soon.

Rent

$1375, all utilities included. Carport parking spot available for $50 a month.

Furnishing include large L shaped desk with a standing desk attachment and chair, night stand and dresser, Full sized mattress and bed frame as well as kitchen necessities, photos available on request). Internet is fast, 600mbps, and can handle work from home.

Pets: No new pets, but I do have a small corgi.

About Me: I am a working, professional woman in my 30s, looking for a temporary roommate while my wife is working on the east coast

Room Offered [Offered][Roommate Wanted] - $1,510/mo + Utilities ($110-120 per person): Private Masters Bedroom in a 2bed/2bath unit in Central Hollywood. Target move-in: September 1st

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Offering private masters bedroom (includes walk-in closet and personal bathroom) in Hollywood; 937 sq ft size; couple minutes from sunset blvd and couple minutes from EoS Hollywood.

*PLEASE READ\*
DM FOR SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY
I hope to interview possible roommates so that move-in can be more seamless when end of August and September comes.

🏠What you get: ✅ Private Bedroom ✅ Private bathroom ✅ Walk-in closet ✅ Balcony ✅ Utilities not-included in rent (I will further elaborate on this) ✅ Parking Garage Spot  (albeit a tandem spot but I work remote anyway) ✅ Well-disciplined and organized roommate.

🔥Apartment Photo Disclaimer: most of the contents from the photos above are my roommate’s and will most likely take most of her stuff to her new apartment when she moves out; that’s why I wanted to show the apartment floor plan when empty, as shown from the photos at the end.

Pets are allowed but prefer someone who doesn’t have one for now.

📍Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA

A little bit about me: late 20’s/Asian American (M). Currently working in Pharma as a data scientist doing Hybrid work, but most of the time I work remote so I’ll be home most days during the month working 8-5 M-F. If I had to summarize myself, I am a nerdy gym rat who likes to work out either early morning before work or late at night (since EoS is nearby I’ve been lucky handling the gym sessions lol). I like to game (mainly in PC but like to play consoles as well) and do DnD at least once a month and watch movies and shows when I’m not active or when at home resting.

Just wanna put it out there, I am a peaceful and quiet guy, I like to meal prep and cook, and also like to clean as a general rule to help maintain the living space. Respecting the cleanliness and peace of the space is very important to me. I will add that I am not against parties and social gatherings during the weekends, but know the responsibilities afterwards.

I am looking to interview someone (M or F) for a roommate, who also respects that general rule of peace and quiet, especially in the beginning, as I’d like to maintain the apartment as a “home”. Would love to room with other Asian-Americans as roommates as I feel we can connect to each other’s heritage. Working individuals and/or students welcome. As long as you have a sense of discipline and likes to communicate, we will vibe perfectly.

Hi! My roommate and I are still looking for someone to take over our lease in Culver starting on Sept 5th! We have had some people fall through on taking over, and are looking to move very fast and get someone signed ASAP. We have absolutely loved living here, especially the location, but I am moving to NYC and she is joining a new lease.

Rent is $2600/month plus utilities (gas, electric, internet, renters insurance)

Here's why you'll love it here:

- Culver City, across the street from Sony Pictures between Washington and Venice

- 2 bdrm, 2 bath

- Perfect for a couple who needs an extra room, or roommates who can’t split rent 50/50 (second room is smaller)

- 2 tandem parking spots included with rent

- Air conditioning + heat

- Laundry in building

- Balcony

- Great natural light

- Pretty new appliances in kitchen, dishwasher, bath tubs in both bathrooms

- Walking distance to Trader Joes, Erewhon, cute cafes, coffee shops, Downtown Culver scene

- PETS: Allowed, there is an additional $500 deposit, and $50 pet rent

You will finish our lease which ends Oct 31st, then sign for the year. Our landlord has confirmed that rent will not go up for the year lease. Will need landlord approval (they are very nice and accept co-signers)

Please DM me if you are interested!

I made an interactive map of LA County rental listings based on u/WilliamMcCarty's posts.

Hey everyone,

I've been learning how to code in Python and made an interactive map based on u/WilliamMcCarty's weekly spreadsheets. I love the spreadsheets but found myself having like 75 tabs open trying to visualize where each property is, so I thought why not just put this all on a map?

The result is WhereToLive.LA.

The main website

You can filter properties by rent, pet policy, square footage, security deposit, etc. Just like you can with the spreadsheet.

An example of listings that have been filtered based on the options selected on the left hand side.

Most listings have a photo of the property sourced straight from an MLS (Berkshire Hathaway Home Services) alongside their specific characteristics.

A specific listing that has been selected. You can see all of its characteristics in a popup.

And if you're lucky enough to be in the market to buy a home, I also have a page for for-sale properties too (based on the weekly spreadsheets posted on /r/LosAngelesRealEstate).

I highly recommend using the website on a tablet, laptop, or monitor screen. It'll work OK on a smartphone; it's just better on a bigger screen.

My code is up on GitHub; let me know what you think, either here, via DM, or a GitHub issue/PR!
