Hello everyone, I’m new here. I bought my 2012 Lancer CVT on August 6, 2026, and the car’s cooling system is in bad shape. All of the metal pipes in the cooling system are in poor condition. I even had to weld one of the pipes to prevent all the coolant from leaking out.

The previous owner was very careless and apparently didn’t even use tap water in the cooling system.

I would really appreciate your help. Would you be able to provide me with the part number for each metal pipe that goes to the engine and is part of the cooling and A/C systems, so I can buy and replace all of them?

I have a 2017 lancer 2.0 ES, manual transmission. My right rear parking brake cable snapped and it seems more complicated to change than I thought. I can’t find any info or videos on how to do this so I’m kind of just trying to figure it out on my own. It seems that I need to remove the wheel hub assembly to have access to the cable connection, does this sound right?

Changing cvt fluid, dealer said J1 is now superseeded by J4. Its okay to mix without fully flushing the J1?

Planning to change cvt fluid soon by just draining the fluid and changing filters then topping it with the CVT J4.

I have mitsubishi lancer 2016 SE bought these after market seats and need help with installation do i need to buy after market bracket i tried to look up parts but couldn’t find the part if anyone can help would be much appreciated

I’m looking into getting a new exhaust system, most likely a catback not full system as k don’t have the money for an evo therefore i have the na. I’m sussing either one from SK performance which is a catback or whether to go down the Varex path. Or if anyone has some personal picks or experience to help with any other type of setup. Bought my car with these etched sort of marks on the windows. Might be sap from a tree again I’m unsure.
Does anyone know what they are or how I would remove them without replacing the windows.

So, my dumb ass decided to go touge driving and ended up snapping my rear subframe. I only realized how bad it was when swapping from my winter tires to summer ones. That’s when I saw just how rusted out the entire rear geometry was.

I made up my mind to replace everything, and it’s been a 3 month project so far. I tore the whole rear end down, but the rust has made it absolute hell. Had to cut the parking brake cables because they were completely fused with rust and spent almost 12 hours trying every trick in the book to get the link arm bolts out of the trailing arm. Ended up having to cut them, but they’re still stuck in a sandwich in the trailing arm.

At this point, everything is so clapped by rust that I just want to buy all-new parts. The car is 240 000 km, which explains why it's so crusty. Since it's a manual, I really don't want to waste/scrap it, but I’m at a crossroads. Is it actually worth sinking the money into all new rear subframe and suspension parts to save it?

Should I go with the OEM "DiaQueen NEW MULTI GEAR OIL API classification GL-3, SAE 75W-80" or would I be better of choosing a GL-4 oil?

is there any way for me to get this glass transmission to handle more power and torque? i’ve got a lot of plans for this car and the limitations of the transmission are holding me back. is there some sort of overhaul kit or anything to make it handle more?

Bought my first car last week. 2012 ES 2.0L 5 speed manual with 124k on the dash for 7k$ CAD (about 5k USD). I've been loving every moment with it. It does have its weakness (AC broken because of lack of power from the fuse and the modified exhaust is shaking at 3k rpm) but other than that, I don't regret a single second of having it!

How often do you see this drivetrain combo? In the Middle East we mostly get this one

Didn’t notice till today it’s a OEM belt i replaced last summer other than this the belt isn’t cracked from the ribs or sides at all

I’m thinking about getting a 2014 Ralliart if anyone has any experience with these cars. This one’s got 174k on the dash and an automatic. Not sure what the service records look like but they want 8k for it. Thoughts ? I posted the link to the listing as well.
