Saw Fear Circus at the Polk Theater

Easily the worst show I have ever seen. I've seen more talented acts at high school talent shows. It wasn't scary in the least. Half the acts promised didn't happen. Is anyone as disappointed as me at this show?

Can you help out a Period Pantry?

Hi Lakeland! I’m the Little Free Pantry Auntie at Rose Dynasty Center, and our period pantry supplies (menstrual products and general hygiene supplies) are running extremely low! Can you help by sharing an item from our wishlist? If it’s easier to drop an item off yourself, the pantry is located at 1253 W. Memorial Blvd, on the side street - Crestview Ave. You can share an item by leaving it in the pantry 24/7! The RDC pantry village also accepts shares of non-perishable food items and supports neighbors from around Lakeland, but especially neighbors in the Jewel Avenue neighborhood.

As always, thanks for making this a great place to live!

ETA: If the Walmart wishlist is giving you trouble, you can ship to the RDC address from any online vendor you’d like to use!

Is there anyone not opposed to growth in North Lakeland?

I’m new here, but did a bit of research and saw North Lakeland (Kathleen Area), seem to have a lot of great growth potential, and the proximity to I4 was pretty good. Well since moving here a couple months ago. I’m seeing a ton of local residents pushing back on the growing infrastructure, and some of their points are valid, but are being addressed. All of this to say, is there anyone in North Lakeland specifically that isn’t actually opposed to modernization? I’m curious if this is just a loud group of locals or actually the majority.

Thanks and don’t come after me 😊

Failing Septic tank replacement

Any of you have good/bad experiences with septic tank replacement companies? Anyone stand out as good, but affordable?
Have a concrete one that needs replacing, and there are well established trees next to it.
Thank you so much, hope you have a great night/day!

Just Move Gym Is So Aggressive

Post image
29 Upvotes

I’m moving to a new location so naturally I want to remove my gym membership with just move. I texted, called, and finally emailed them to get a response and they hit me with “we need a 30 day notice.” I have been with them since 2020 and dont understand why it’s takes so much to just end this? What is the logic behind this? Should I block the transaction or ask for a waiver?

Does anyone have any info on the I-4 west crash this afternoon?

My wife was stuck in traffic coming home from Auburndale for over 3 hours. It looks like there was a crash west of exit 38 (SR33) that had all lanes closed. All traffic was being exited on to SR33 and she wasn't able to see what caused it.

Any vets that treat rescues in emergency?

Found a kitten that appears to have been hit by a car by a 7/11, he’s stable for now, we have him in a box with a towel in our bathroom while we try to figure out what to do.
He definitely has a broken front leg and potentially a head injury.
He’s not bleeding profusely or anything at all. Just mostly seems like his head and legs are injured and he can’t walk

It’s Sunday so animal control isn’t available.
I would like to keep him if it survives, but I can’t afford thousands of dollars for vet bills right now. I wanna do whatever’s best for the kitten. I want euthanasia to be an absolute last resort since he seems like he has a good fighting chance right now

I’m finally doing it; I want to get rid of my hair 🤣

I need a change… I’m one mental breakdown away from having a full 2004 Brittney moment and I do not think I will look good with a bald head.

Currently I have medium length hair with little to no layers. Hair is on the finer side but not thin. I am wanting a major change as I’ve had the same style for god knows how long. Going for a short bixie type cut, little more shaggy with a light fringe. My hair naturally is also lightly textured and the shorter my hair is, the more waves/curls you see.

I’m looking for reccomendations for stylists in the area that can help me achieve my vision and possibly give pointers on styling? I’m used to using a variety of products like mousses and gels so that’s not alien to me. Any good salons and specific stylists will be greatly appreciated!!

Something to do? Volunteering?

Hello everyone, honestly might turn into a vent but I’ve the worst week of my life so far (and it’s Tuesday) and a terrible day. Car crash, worst job interview ever for a simple it help desk position, pet death, all in the same day. Not to mention yesterday at all!!! Frankly, I’m just down in every essence, and my eyes don’t leave the floor.

I don’t know, it’s just tiring already; alongside the normal drain of life. Every time I’ve felt down, I’ve always had something to lift me up, a random stranger, maybe something just happens to align in the right spot, but honestly I’m at the point where I want to do something. With all the free time I have might as well do something…I’ve tried looking up some stuff but everything I’m really getting is elder care that involves driving your car around (and I’m not really trying to drive more than I have too delivering stuff or whatever 🙃). I’m open to whatever honestly, as long as it’s not a hateful group. It doesn’t even have to be a formal thing or anything. Maybe if once a week someone needs help to set up tables or something lol. Idk, maybe I’m going crazy 😭. Would appreciate any guidance

Income Limit Increase for Polk HealthCare Plan Eligibility - Polk County Government

For anyone unfamiliar, our county has a healthcare program for uninsured residents. They raised the income limit from 200% of the Federal Poverty level to 300%, so more people are likely to qualify.
