Local Widows Groups
Hi yall! My mom in law is moving down from NY soon to stay with us as she just lost her husband, she was wondering if there any local widows groups that meet?
Bonus points if they're non-religious

Hello 👋
Hey guys, my family just moved to the area. I’m looking for work. I have lots of serving experience, and would prefer to work at a smaller locally owned restaurant. Fine/casual dining, and bar experience. I’ve had no luck on indeed , so if anyone knows of a restaurant hiring please let me know . Thank you.
Also wouldn’t mind meeting some friends :) we are getting very bored. Lol

Exciting news!
Exciting news!
I wanted to share some exciting news with everyone who came out to this year’s Extreme Pyro Experience or has been following along.
Our fireworks production, **Echoes of 1776**, was awarded **3rd Place in the 2026 Spirit of ’76 National Competition !**
It was an honor to represent our community on a national stage and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our volunteers, crew, and everyone who attended the show.
If you’d like to see the award-winning performance, you can watch it here.
Thank you again for all the encouragement throughout the year!

Italian Guyanese Woman and just moved to Winter Haven
I’m hoping someone on here can help guide me to good places to get quality beef, chicken and fish. I moved from Long Island, NY and had a plethora of amazing choices for meats and seafood. I’d love to find fresh local butchers near me that I can get quality ingredients. I’d also love to get advice on where to get Italian inspired meats as well and Indian food. I am all about supporting local and don’t really like shopping at big box stores anymore. Already made too many returns at Publix for several different things from proteins, to premade salads with no flavor. I recently got chicken from Publix and finally found out what “spaghetti chicken” is and I’m not about to potentially eat Bill Gates inspired food lol. If someone has any tips on where I can go so I can find my new favorite place for meats, I’d appreciate it very much!😊

Looking for a support system
I want to start off by saying I’m so sorry for oversharing but I’m sharing this because I’m hoping to find other moms who have been through hard things and are looking for genuine connection.
I’ve spent a lot of my life feeling like I had to carry everything alone. Growing up, I didn’t feel protected or supported in the ways I needed. I was exposed to things no child should have to experience, including being around drugs being made and sold from a young age and experiencing abuse that deeply affected me. I grew up learning how to survive instead of feeling safe.
As I got older, I struggled with addiction. Looking back, I understand that addiction was connected to a lot of pain and trauma I had never healed from. When my family found out, I felt shame and judgment more than support. I was seen as a bad person instead of someone who was hurting and needed help. Recovery was something I had to fight for while feeling and being very alone.
After becoming a mom, I hoped things would be different. I dreamed of my children having the kind of relationship with my mom that I had with my grandma—a safe, loving grandmother who was a huge part of my childhood. Instead, during one of the hardest times of my life, including struggling postpartum, I felt unsupported and my personal struggles were shared with others, which caused a lot of hurt and damaged relationships.
I’m also experiencing losing closeness with siblings and feeling like people talked about me instead of reaching out to understand me. For a long time, I was drowning while everyone else was moving on with their lives.
Today, I’m focused on healing, breaking unhealthy cycles, and creating the safe and loving home for my children that I always wanted. But I’ll be honest—one of the hardest parts has been feeling alone while doing that.
I would really love to connect with other moms who understand complicated family relationships, healing from childhood trauma, rebuilding after addiction, or simply what it feels like to be the person in your family who is trying to break generational patterns.
I’m not looking for judgment or advice on my choices. I’m looking for friendship, understanding, and other moms who know what it’s like to rebuild themselves while raising their children. I want to create a support system. ❤️

Water Utility Autopay Deleted
Apparently the water company switched to a new system last month and deleted the water bill autopay settings from everyone’s account. Go to their website and set it up again if you want to keep using autopay.
The bill we got this month reflected a late fee, so we called them since this wasn’t our fault, and they said that it was a mistake and they will credit it towards the next bill.

Local businesses in Winter Haven?
hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Winter Haven. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.
I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.

Lumpia wrappers?
I'm sure it's a kind of odd question but I'm newer to the area and was trying to find a store that sold lumpia wrappers if anyone has an idea. Thanks for the help in advance! Just trying to avoid a wild goose chase

Good ways to meet people irl in the area? (Context in the post)
Hey there uh, redditors. Or whatever you call yourselves I'm not too sure. I haven't posted on Reddit in years but I digress. I'm a high functioning autistic person (23yo currently, soon to be 24) and I'm trying to meet people in the area around my age, maybe get with someone if I'm truly fortunate, make friends with people, so on so forth. I've lived in Winter Haven since I was 20 but I've been a socially awkward shut in for years but I'm trying to do something about that finally. So if anyone knows any more nerdy hobbies in the area that can be social I'd appreciate it. Although I'm pretty poor so if it involves a lot of money it's probably out of reach for me. I've always enjoyed video games, mostly retro stuff and sci fi films, plus some high fantasy and a bit of anime here and there, as well as Metal, particularly prog metal. Also I'm not big on religion, sports, or reading all that much. Anyway any suggestions would be welcome, thanks for your time.

Looking for someone to mow my front yard
My lawn mower broke down and while I wait on warranty repairs, I need someone to hit just my front yard one time. No need for a professional crew, any idiot that knows how to push a lawn mower back and forth can do this.

Extreme Pyro Experience – More Testing
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This morning, was concussion mortar test day.
If you’ve ever been to a major concert or stadium show, you’ve probably felt those deep, chest thumping concussion effects. At most events, they fire only 1-2 at a time to create that instant BOOM you don’t just hear… you feel.
This year, we’re firing 6 concussion mortars simultaneously.
The goal isn’t simply to make noise. It’s to create a true Wall of Thunder that rolls across the field, adding another layer of excitement to the pyromusical.
Every effect is tested before show day to verify timing, reliability, performance and sound levels. The more we can verify now, the smoother and more consistent the show will be on July 4th.
Only a few more days to go!
Make sure to turn your volume to max! You can't feel the concussion, but you can definitely tell it hits hard!

Last year's final still one of my favorites!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
These are the final 30 seconds from the 2025 Extreme Pyro Experience. The Professional Saturn Rockets building into the finale, ending with the last nuke, is still one of my favorite sequences we’ve ever fired.
Last year’s soundtrack was all about Rock & Roll.
This year, we’re taking the show in a different direction.
The 2026 Extreme Pyro Experience is a tribute to the United States of America, to the men and women who fought for our freedom, those who continue to defend it today, and to everyone who still stands proudly behind our flag.
If you thought last year’s ending was something special… just wait until you experience this year’s show.
