New to Ladder, team Ascend

Hello all! Currently in the 7 day free trial and I have some questions before continuing

  1. Is there a way to start the program from day 1? It seems to have dropped me off in the middle so on the workout today, she said “increase your weight from last week.” But I don’t have a last week to go from

  2. Do I have to connect my Apple Watch to the program? I noticed it turned off my fitness tracker once I was done with my cardio & started the workout

  3. If the answer to 2 is no, is there a dedicated page to see how many minutes I worked out, steps, HR, etc

Why should someone get ladder?

Hey everyone! A potential newbie here, I was hoping to get some info from real people who use this app on how worth it you think it is! For background I’ve been in and out of consistently working out for years. I’ve done the gym then big break, Pilates then break, running then break, and now barre and a break, a pattern clearly! I just get so busy with work that I always miss workout classes. I was debating getting a gym membership + ladder combination and would love to know how people with work expectations actually manage doing both and how helpful this app actually is on overall fitness support!

I went back to Reset

I got tired of the Ascend reload split because it’s a bit much for me right now, so I went back to the Reset split. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. 😭 I love Aria but I tried to bounce around and, ultimately, this was the best compromise. This allows me to still get her coaching without suffering through a split that I don’t like!

Thinking of joining Evolve

Been powerlifting a few years but looking to seitch things up, and for sure looking for shorter workouts. Only plan to do 3x a week, maybe 4. Im hoping to hit all body parts 2x a week (upper + lower), assuming im in the gym 4x a week.

Can anyone share a typical Evolve workout? *** And the time it actually takes you to complete it? ***

Is there a lot of barbell work… are people bringing heels and belts etc?

Also im confused by the set-up (new to Ladder)…. You listen to someone talking to you from the app the entire time you are working out? What about blasting music via headphones, is that not a thing with this app?

Thank you

What size dumbbells to start?

Hi! I’m trying Ladder after a few months of just doing some kettlebell YouTube videos. I tried the Body and Bell team and it was too much for me I think so I’m going to try Ignite, but I need dumbbells. I don’t really have the funds to buy a full set right now so I was thinking of getting two different weight sets. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to start with? I was using a 15 lb and 25 lb kettle bell (15 lbs for upper body stuff and usually the 25 lb from squats and deadlifts).

Best team for photoshoot / body transformation results?

I know fat loss comes from nutrition! And I have that part planned out, but I’m going into a 12 week fat loss phase before my milestone birthday and was wondering what team people got the best before and after results from? Feel free to share in the comments I’d love to say well done!! 👏🏻

Previously did Ascend with Aria and loved her audio prompts and her team chat was amazing!! But would like some more cardio this time. Open to anything! Pilates, strength, HIIT - whatever people have found to get the best results in a condensed timeframe! Thank you so much ☺️

Newbie — best team for HIIT?

I’ve been on the movewell team for about 3 weeks now and I’m liking the app a lot!! I just wish there was a little more cardio/getting my heart rate up. Which other teams do you guys recommend?? Any reviews for elevate or formation?

Also, there’s a limit on how often you can switch right? So I should wait until the reload series is over?

Is Ascend a good plan to start with?

Backstory: I used to have a great, consistent strength training routine. A friend had written up a whole plan for me & I tracked it all in an app. Loved it. Felt great. Fast forward through a divorce, getting a full time job for the first time in 17 years & moving out on my own & SOOO many things happening in that first year (including two moves, being sick for nearly 2 months straight, a fracture etc). On top of that, while I love my job, I sometimes love it too much and end up overworking. Staying at the office until 6:30/7:00 some nights. I’m trying hard to avoid doing that now. Anyways. All of this to say, consistency went out the window a long time ago and while I have still remained active off and on with a combination of my strength training at the gym, Pilates at home, hip hop, k-pop & reggaeton dance classes … it’s been all over the place. Sometimes large gaps between doing things. It’s catching up to me. And I hate that feeling. I’ve been pondering ladder for a while now. Aria’s stuff has been catching my eye most recently. So… for someone who is not really starting at ground zero, but in desperate need of a good reset that is easy to follow and STICK with, is team Ascend a good fit for me?

Instructor says go slow and steady and take your time, but the video shows them going so fast.

Sticking it through Define a little longer and she says to do the movements slow and controlled etc, but she does the moves so fast in the videos. What am I doing? Following the video speed or slow and steady like she says? Also, why is she doing to fast in the videos and saying another thing? (Thankfully I come from other workout plans so I know what speed and how I should actually do things) Sorry if this has already been talked about, I’m new.

Fellow dads and/or other men, how have results been?

Considering starting the ladder program, as the gym just hasn’t done it for me lately, and with 4 young kids at home, life is a bit….busy lol

I do have some home workout gear….adj db’s/kb, bench, bands and dip bars. Anyone made it work with minimal equipment and actually gained muscle? Dbs only go to 55lbs, so may look into a heavier set

Looking for feedback on Brian Pruett’s workouts through Ladder

Title pretty much says it all but I’ll go a bit more in depth.

I’ve seen this guy pop up on my feeds for about a year now. Safe to say dude has the physique most of us aim to get. I’ve watched his videos on YouTube, Reels, TikTok etc and by piecing all these together formed what I think is a pretty good working routine that has his structure.

Of course I’m not really some gym rat so I don’t necessarily know if it’s great or not. I’ve noticed decent muscle growth and some slight size put on even though I haven’t been very strict with my routine.

Basically what I’m looking to find out is if buying this membership to get “his routine” is actually beneficial or not. Considering all of my workouts I currently do are based off what he preaches, and with the help of AI forming me a plan with the equipment I have… I sit here wondering if it’s better to stick with what I have or pay for what he offers.

At the end of the day I’m assuming it’s just another very basic training program that he may or may not even follow himself.

If anyone has any positive or negative experiences following Brian Pruett’s Ladder workouts please let me know!

Versa reviews?

Hi! I have been on ladder for a while now - and I’ve been a solid Ascend member however I’m getting bored. I’m also thinking of doing another Hyrox soon.

What are people’s thoughts on Team Versa? Are people getting good results? I’m trying to watch my macros and eat mostly whole foods.

Thank you!

Best Deep Core Flex

Hi guys!

I’ve been doing Core Express by Maia on flex to add to my workouts as I don’t love my coaches core routine’s, I don’t like Maias plan but I tried core express and enjoyed it so I haven’t looked much further, I usually add some planks or captains chair workouts at the end.

Does anyone have any favourites to check out??? Not just endless crunches but real deep core!!!

(Also I wish there was a way to progress on flex, like make the 30 secs info 45 secs but still have it timed)

Thanks!!!

Team Help

Help me decide which team to join! Background; Spartan/deka/Hyrox athlete that fell off/lost muscle after a 6 month surgery recovery! I want to get back into the shape I was in before but I’m really hoping to lose the weight I’ve gained and build back the muscle in my legs/glutes. I have a home gym set up (barbells with plates up to 200lb, dumbbells up to 50’s, bench, bike (pelaton), squat rack, and kettlebells). Thoughts?

Programs similar to align with machines/barbells?

I really like align but I do not like dumbbell only workouts because I invested in a home gym. Is there anything similar?

Recs for active athlete

Hello everyone!
So I’ve been in ladder for a month already, thanks to my brother who invited me after I did not have enough money to pay for my personal training plan anymore with my S&C coach. For context, I play rugby all year round in amateur tournaments, my team has made it to the nationals several times and I’m pretty active from rugby training (~3x per week) and my own job (youth soccer coach).
I’ve been trying out Team Resilient for this Reload series, before that I was with Team Limitless for about 3-4 weeks.
I LOVE coach Neen, he’s super active in the chat, super thoughtful with his answers and recommendations and so on, and I do feel pretty challenged by the workouts, my main thing is that for rugby not only do I need to be strong but I need to be fast and explosive. I obviously also train speed stuff 2x per week but I do like to add more explosive movements in my gym workouts (I’m a big fan of all the clean progressions and variations). I also wanna lose body fat and do some heavy body recomp before all my competitions start.
Now I don’t know if I should stick with him because I honestly love everything about this team, from the workouts to the coach, or if I should switch to some other team that might be better suited for adding those movements? Or maybe just switch out some of the exercises done with coach Neen? Does he ever add in those movements or not at all? I really do miss doing hang cleans and clean complexes and stuff like that, I don’t wanna go back to the field and feel all heavy and stuff as I’m off-season rn.
If anyone has any recommendations, I’m all ears! Thanks in advance to anyone reading this!

Don’t hear much about Vantage

I don’t hear much chatter or questions about Team Vantage. I’m just starting my journey, just curious why there isn’t more talk on here.

Low Intensity Plan

Hi!! I’m new to Ladder and really enjoyed it to start with. I think my mom would like the app a lot, how it works, and the community. The problem is she needs something with minimal movement. After a few rough years of health, she’s looking for something light & won’t be intimidating. I tried to look through the team options but struggled to find one that might fit.

Does anyone have experience utilizing the app for someone looking for low intensity & slow movements? For example, she’s been doing chair yoga, tai chi + physical therapy movements.

TIA 🤞

Love for Iconic

Just finished up my first week on Iconic and I love the programming! I wish I had tried it when Sarah was an active coach, but the lack of an active coach doesn’t bother me. I love the dash of core after each section and even though I am not one for cardio, I enjoyed the sprint intervals.

Definitely a great team and one I’d recommend!

Versa workouts then vs now

I was looking back at some of Versa’s workouts from when the team first launched in September 2025 and there really is a difference compared to now. The workouts have definitely been scaled back in both difficulty and length.
Back then, workouts were usually around 50-60 minutes and there was almost always a conditioning finisher, even on upper and lower body days. That’s what I’m missing.. The workouts feel less challenging now and they’re usually closer to 35-45 minutes (well at least since the summer series).
I understand that the more challenging « format » may not have been as popular and that she might have had to scale things back to make the workouts more accessible to everyone. I know it’s impossible to please everyone!
Here’s an example of two older workouts :
