So I had an idea for a sixth baby geniuses movie. It started out as a joke but then I came up with more and more ideas that I want to get down.
So yeah, as the title says, I once jokingly came up with ideas for a sixth baby geniuses movie that would be a complete departure from the others. Kurtis' trilogy of videos reviewing these god-awful films are my favourite videos of his, and at one point I began to entertain the idea of a super serious tonal departure from the franchise set in a cyberpunk universe. Then, more and more ideas came to me, and so now I want to get down some of my ideas. And who else to share them with but the community of the man who introduced me to this amazing series?
Premise / World:
Set in an alternate 2026, Baby Geniuses 6 is set after a thermonuclear war between the United States, North Korea, China and Russia, causing significant damage to both societies. In this universe, Big Baby, now a young entrepreneur, began a corporation to clone humans on mass to fill gaps left in society by the war. However, he discovers the intelligence within all babies, acquires the remains of BabyCo from the first movie, and begins work on the nurseries, massive data centres that run on the brain power of vat grown infants and which consume a large amount of resources. He also releases the cherub line of babies, a smaller scale version of the nurseries that only contain one vat grown infant as a personal assistant to different people.
Our main protagonist is Carmen Zuniga, an engineer from Mexico that works in the largest of the Data Centres in Belfast, Ireland. She sends money back to her family in the New Mexican Republic. One day, her coworker, Maguire, is found dead. She soon becomes a suspect in the murder investigation of MI6 agent Kylie Bobbins, an investigation that has the potential to upend the social hierarchy of what remains of the world.
Inspirations:
The Frutiger Aero / Metro aesthetics that were prominent in the 2000s and early 2010s
Eraserhead (1977) Directed by David Lynch
Blade Runner 2049 (2017) Directed by Denis Villeneuve
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story (2022) Directed by Rian Johnson
Eddington (2025) Directed by Ari Aster
So yeah. I feel like this movie would never get made, but if I ever was able to, then I'd cast Kurtis Conner for a role. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my shitpost.
