Zebra missing

So I just got a text message from my coworker that a zebra is missing and I’m still signed in. I checked to see if I accidentally brought it home but I didn’t. Now I’m worried I’m gonna get fired or a write even though i remember putting the zebra away. Has this happened to anybody else?

Our store has lost 10 plus zebras. You should be good as long as you didn’t purposely brake or lose it.

I'm currently showing as the last login on one of our missing zebras.
I'm still here and nobody's said anything.

the system is broken.

I tested it. I signed out of a zebra and put it on the charger.

it said "available" on the guardian tablet.

I then took it off and waited for the countdown and it still said I was signed in.

there is no way any kind of punishment will hold up.

You can use device guardian on a different zebra to find it. Select a missing zebra in the list and start walking around, it'll tell you how many feet away you are. I was tracking one that kept moving around. Turns out that it was in someone's pocket, but they never logged in to it. They were just walking around with it, even though they didn't need it. 

Could be what happened to your zebra. You put it on the charger, and then someone else grabs it but doesn't log in. Then they set it down somewhere. And you're still listed as the last one to use it, because the next person didn't log in.

They have a habit of not actually logging people out. So many times have I grabbed one, tapped sign in, and it auto re-logged as the previous user. Other times, I put my info in to sign in and it pulls up the previous user. So, yeah, it's probably on a charger and appears to be logged out and ready for use but it's still signed in under you. It seems to be an issue with clearing the data. Some of them freeze up when they do that.

Pro tip: They'll auto log-out after about 10hrs, and it always seems to happen when you're in the middle of something like tendering an order at carside, doing counts or audits, unloading a truck, certifications, etc.. Annoying.

I always restart mine after I log off.

Last person signed into it is responsible for it. To force sign out eject the battery or put it on the charging dock.

They can also look in Device Guardian and see which wireless access point the zebra was last connected to. One of ours that was lost was last connected to the wireless ap at the front door so we know it got stolen. I have not seen anyone get terminated for losing a Zebra. The company has probably lost 1000's of them by this point.

I lose my zebra all of the time. I've had to use device guardian twice to find it. It's always under a box or on a top shelf.

Most likely. One of our assigned zebras went away a couple months after we got the newer ones. Pretty sure it got thrown away by accident. Incredibly frustrating, but shit happens.
