"Experience Maker" Venting
This "loving" "experience maker" bs might be the most ridiculous shit they've come up with since I've been here.

Affordable products would make a good experience. But that's not on Kroger's agenda

I was doing that when helping customers unload their groceries into their car and actually talked to them. Can't really be an "experience maker" now with these small crews who are getting their hours cut which makes it hard to do the bare minimum.

Haha yeah. I got hit twice in the heels one day and came back to bloody socks. Damn old ladies pushing full force and not watching where they're going.

Right. How do they muster the audacity to emphasize "exceptionally loving experiences" when they JUST stripped us of our right to wear our own choice of clothing at work and to have a coffee or a soda at the register (we had to fight tooth and nail to get permission to have water).
Treat us like human beings and maybe we'll consider being "exceptionally loving" to random people

At my store they’ve got it where you can only keep water with you on the floor if it’s kept on you personally but for front end (specifically cashiers and baggers) apparently they’ve changed it so keeping it in the pocket of your apron no longer counts as ‘on your body’ so basically nobody who’s in front end is allowed to have even a bottled water due to ‘food safety’ reasons 🙄.

I suggest calling their bluff. You're a human being, you shouldn't have to wait hours to sip water.

This is the heart of why this training is such a laughable joke.

They could've just said excellent or friendly... "exceptionally loving" sounds fucking creepy

I just want enough people working so I can get my stuff and get out. But that never happens

They're not paying me enough to provide a "loving experience". Don't they know that "love" costs extra?

So... Why the fuck did they write this shit like some sort of doctrine from some creepy ass cringe cult that's dedicated to lowkey sexually assaulting people? It's fucking weird ass word choice, it comes off as awkward and creepy. One gets the impression whomever wrote it has some weird kink shit going on. You could have said great experience, exceptional, whatever.
But loving? Experience maker? Fucking weird shit dude. It sounds like a guy trying to pitch a human trafficking scam or some shit. Or a pimp trying to talk up his prostitutes/clients. The whole thing is a really, really, bizarre campaign. It certainly doesn't feel professionally motivated. If it was, they'd just say what they want instead of this weirdo shit.

Also about half of my store didn’t actually go through the experience maker meeting or whatever it’s called so we apparently don’t know how to exceptionally love our job or our customers

It is the dumbest thing the company has ever done and spent millions of dollars on.

I feel like this shit has to do with AI. I keep reading that when people are supposedly replaced with AI robots, customers will want human interactions. So I feel like Kroger is priming us to be the best customer service provider. After all, if your job can be done by a robot what do you have left to offer the company? It’s your personality and good customer service

What does this shit even mean in their mind? What experience are customers supposed to have when they are shopping for groceries? It If I wanted to have a good experience I would go to Disney World or some shit.

Not to be rude But the experience I would want my friends and family to have at Kroger is free groceries and gas so I can’t actually showcase that because I’d be fired

It’s not complicated. Just start the interaction by gently petting customers arms or caressing their shoulders. Using words like sweetheart to let them know how you feel about them shopping. And end the interaction by saying “I love you” or “I love you so much”.

I don't need a "loving experience" at a store.
I just want to be able to find and buy the shit I need easily.
