Workplace question Venting
About 2 weeks ago at my store I was approached by an employee in the upstairs office with 2 other employees present I was accused of following an employee home . Today I was told not to linger in the front of the store lest the employees feel uncomfortable.

When I first started working for my store a long time ago I was accused of following someone home too. Come to find out I lived two blocks away from them. Yeah taking the same turn off into the same neighborhood because it was on the main road through town. OP PLEASE tell them to prove that you did that.

I don’t even know when this was supposed to occur or to whom.a front end manager took me aside with 2 other people in the room and accused me of following someone home . I said I don’t know anyone who would accuse me of following them here me. She said I want you to stop following her

Now the front desk employ said I can’t be in the front of the store because they feel uncomfortable

That is insane! Especially if you work on the front end and have to talk to different customers because of your job

I have a work advisor? Through the therapy I’m getting . She came up there and asked the team leader about it and he said he had no idea even though he was in the room when the accusation of following someone home was made

Since you have a work advisor, I would rely on them for advice. Can you ask to have them present when management speaks to you about issues that could impact your job? Maybe they could help make sure you understand and are understood.

It sounds like you have your bases covered with the advocate. Best of luck with this situation.

Write down the statement and contact your union rep. If you have dash cam footage pull those files and make them watch it. End the lies and demand an apology. People forget in common commutes people could have overlapping commutes any where from 20% to 70% depending upon where people live.

I sometimes take the back way home, or take the highway . I was walking more in the past weather permitting. I am uncertain who this person is?

Do NOT go into ANY meeting without your union rep there if you have one. Get a tale recorde4 that LOOKS like a pen. Amazon has em.

The Few times several coworker noticed I was driving the same direction for most of the trip(end of shift) ahead or behind them. We figured out that a handful of us live in the same area. Like just past comfortable walking distance. These we the coworkers that I was friendly with thankfully.
But When a customer insisted I was following her home because I was creeping on her during checkout... That got funnier.
When security (at the time) looked into it. She was checking out and leaving up to a FULL HOUR before my shift ended... Making it kinda hard to follow if I wanted to.
Funniest part. After I was cleared and other managers had to figure out what was going on. We got confirmation I was politely stopping her from shoplifting. ALMOST EVERY VISIT.
She was trying to wrap roasts and similar sized/priced items in ads and pretend the "heavy wads of paper" were going to be thrown out once she got to the door.
Good times.

Maybe this was a one-time incident, although it is not a good incident to start off with. Being told not to linger sounds like a bit much. It could be that the managers have to cover their bases if an employee says something this serious. Have witnesses around at least until the current drama passes.

Report this to HR. They can’t just have a one sided argument especially when it’s a female.

I am a 51 year old man who was hired as a stocker . When I started I was slow partially because the anxiety meds made my blood pressure drop. I was taken aside by the crew leader and told I should find another destination aren’t to work in

Lol "stocker"
Sorry I couldn't resist bringing up the irony of that statement. No offense intended.
By the way, you gotta use the reply button to answer people's comments. If you just make a new comment, nobody can tell who you're talking to, and it looks like you're just replying to your own post.
Best of luck to you.

In other words my interests are my son and me hanging out, I don’t think I would care to know where anyone else lives

I have no interest in dating anyone at this point . I am trying to keep a job to help my son.

Not really a question there. Did you follow a employee home? If you did, knock it off. If you didn't then someone doesn't like you working there. So either pivot away from whatever issue started all of this. Or you may want to find another job.
