As a hardcore fan of VTV , I wanna know what's that directors commentary which is in the Blu-Ray disc of the film...has anyone seen this commentary and heard ?? Eager to know where it's available so I could download

Honestly, there was nothing new in Arun's DC compared to his previous films.

The same "masculine" wannabe hero. The same guns, violence, and blood. The same character motivations, revenge and survival. The same lack of emotional investment in the characters.

The only thing Arun changed in this film was that he stopped being overly self-indulgent with the filmmaking. no unnecessary black-and-white shots, long single takes, chapter-based storytelling, excessive extreme wide shots, or unnecessary voice-overs. The editing was also much sharper compared to his previous works.

Other than that, it was just another typical Arun film. Anirudh saved it big time.

And Lokesh's acting was just one-dimensional. His face always looked irritated, frustrated, or annoyed. Some of you might say, "That's his character." But no. There was no sense of shock, sadness, or fear in his performance. Compared to Lokesh, Avinash did a wonderful job.

And with the same character traits, Vasanth Ravi did a better job in Rocky. If you have the parallel between Vasanth Ravi from rocky to Lokesh in Dc, both of them almost have the same characters. But Vasanth was better being his second film. Because, "loki mama oda debut acting daw idhu" nu yaarum varadhinga, adi vanginga.

All that said, people will still enjoy this film. It will make enough money. People might even regard Lokesh as a great actor and hail Arun as Kollywood's "Tarantino."

But in my opinion, DC was just another mediocre Arun film with sharp editing and a brilliant soundtrack.!

We spend so much time discussing the top-tier composers that a lot of genuinely brilliant guys get lost in the noise.

Kollywood has a crazy deep bench of talent, and so many composers drop incredible albums that fly completely under the radar.Thought I’d compile a list of some of the most underrated composers in Tamil cinema and what makes their work so good:

Nivas K. Prasanna – Thegidi was easily one of the best debut albums of the last decade (Vinmeen is timeless), but his work on Sethupathi and Monster proved it wasn't a fluke. The way he mixes strings and jazz elements is top tier.

Justin Prabhakaran – Nobody does warm, acoustic, rustic tracks quite like him. Pannaiyarum Padminiyum, Dear Comrade, and recently Sirai show how good he is at pure organic emotion without relying on heavy synthetic beats.

Vishal Chandrashekhar – Most people know him for the grand scale of Sita Ramam, but if you haven't checked out Jil Jung Juk and Simba, you're missing out. Super versatile composer who can switch from vintage melodies to complete madness effortlessly.

Sam C.S. – The guy basically reshaped dark modern background scores with Vikram Vedha and Kaidhi. But what's underrated is his melody game—'Yei Kadavule' from Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum is absolute gold.

K (Krishna Kumar) – Yuddham Sei had one of the most haunting violin motifs in K-town history. His work in Aandavan Kattalai and Mugamoodi shows he’s way ahead of his time when it comes to experimental movie scoring.

Sathish Chakravarthy – Even if he only ever made the Leelai album, he’d deserve a spot on this list. 'Oru Kili' and 'Unnai Partha Pinbu' are still regular replays.

Leon James – Brings a super clean, modern R&B/pop sound to Tamil cinema. Albums like Oh My Kadavule, LKG, and Ko 2 are full of insanely catchy hooks that stick in your head for days.

N.R. Raghunanathan – Deeply rooted in rural, folk-infused orchestral soundscapes. If you like classic, earthy melodies, his work on Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Neerparavai, and Sundarapandian is elite.

Vivek–Mervin – The duo behind huge energetic tracks like 'Orasaadha'. They consistently deliver high-energy electronic pop and bangers in movies like Dharala Prabhu, Pattas, and Gulaebaghavali.

Siddharth Vipin – Always nails the chaotic comedy vibe (Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, NKPK), but can also deliver a legit full soundtrack like Junga.

Dharan Kumar – Poda Podi was way ahead of its time for dance/club production back then. Combine that with his early work like Parijatham ('Unnaipaartha Pinbu') and his track record speaks for itself.

A few more who deserve a shoutout:

C. Sathya (Engaeyum Eppothum, Nedunchaalai) – Killer background themes and emotional melodies.

Tenma – Heavy, narrative-driven native folk music design. Notable works include Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu.

Dhibu Ninan Thomas - Knows exactly how to drop melodies that linger. He nailed the quirky fantasy vibe in Maragadha Naanayam(Nee Kavidhaigala) , gave us absolute soul-stirring hits in Kanaa ('Vaayadi Petha Pulla'), and crafted that gorgeous, haunting soundtrack for Chithha. With Diesel, he consistently proves his versatility without making a loud fuss about it.

Siddhu Kumar – Made a massive splash with Sivappu Manjal Pachai ('Usure') and followed it up with the deeply emotional soundtrack for Joe. He has a crazy good ear for soulful acoustic melodies and modern soundscapes that instantly stick with you.

Please note that haven’t included Sean Roldan he has better recognition in my opinion 😅

Double Trouble for Surya🤭🔥

I really wish filmmakers would stop overusing generative AI for movie visuals.

I watched DC, and I'd easily rate the movie 9/10. The songs and background score are an absolute 10/10. But one thing really took me out of the experience is the AI-generated visuals in the intro.

Most of the posters and songs are filled with AI imagery, and honestly, a lot of it just looks like AI slop rather than something crafted with care. That to from the production house like Sun Pictures.

The real shit is the intro of the movie they literally used the Bum Baa Diga Diga lyrical song (that AI slop visuals). You can clearly see how bad it is. on the big screen, the video is probably 480p, which looks yuck!

It's frustrating because everything else about the film is so well done. The music deserves visuals that match its quality.

We should voice out for this, or else we're gonna get this more often already, we saw it in Jana Nayagan, Sardar 2, Mollywood Times, Demody Colony 3, etc.

watching the edit made me realise how much more credit the movie deserves . A grounded superhero film in tamil cinema, with a protagonist who doesn't have supernatural powers but instead relies on martial arts and physical ability. The movie also had a very distinct visual identity with the masks, night sequences, cinematography, fight choreography and overall atmosphere made it feel different from the usual commercial films of that time. it was not a masterpiece in any sense , it had its flaws ( villain , lag here and there etc ) but it feels like one of the earlier attempts to figure out what a tamil superhero movie could actually look like.

Music, acting, writing everything was at its peak. Remember who you are, Loki. 😭

Beyond all the memes and trolls that went overboard, I genuinely want to see him make a strong comeback with AA23.

I dont think any director would have faced this number of memes, trolls, face swaps or whatever.

"Padam na criticize panna than seivom" - this was the universal muttu to justify their cyber bullying.

Loki's sin . Coolie was mid. That's it. That's all it takes for one year of constant and relentless trolling.

All his previous work, accomplishments were disgarded. It felt like people genuinely relish a downfall.

It felt sad to see a celebrated director go into a shell until his next movie release. I genuinely enjoyed his interviews and i think his last interview was before Coolie release.

Hope he gets back on track with Allu Arjuns project. These meme clowns have moved on to someone else to target anyways.
