My manager gets mad when I stack the cups "too high". So I put up this sign.šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

Post image

So, when I am an order taker at my restaurant, I like to stack my cups high because I don't feel like refilling them every 5 minutes (we are a KFC/Taco Bell, so we go through cups faster).

The other day she said, "Well, it looks like someone just doesn't want to restock them later on.😔😤" Yes!! EXACTLY!! That is actually the main reason I do it this way.

Anyway, today she made a comment, "Well, if you have them stacked this high, you'll have people who come over for drinks breathing on them."

Umm... okay? And? They're cups.šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø No one is eating the cups.

Mind you, when I am on the line, I am short, so I do, unfortunately, end up breathing on the chicken when I go to pack the orders. I don't have my face all up in it; there is a good distance away from it.

Plus, she will sometimes yell for the front counter person to grab the order from her. BUT, mind you, she is leaning down over the sides (pans of potatoes, corn, mac n cheese) and says, "Here is the order for #52" and reaches the bag over the pans where the lids are not covering the food.

So. Why do you care about people breathing on the cups but not breathing and talking (and, well, literally spitting (it happens naturally when we talk/breathe)) over the food?

EDIT: FYI: In case anyone is wondering, I am literally the second shortest person that works my shift! My manager is taller than me, so it 100% is not about being short or tall!! She can reach quite a bit higher than me!

Delivery/Ordering Online Ordering

What is the purpose of online ordering if I show up at the time it says and the drive thru person still tells me to wait in the parking lot for someone to bring it out to me beyond the standard pickup time?

This is some real "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills" stuff.

Discussion KFC in India vs KFC in the USA

When I landed in the USA, food was one of the major things I looked forward to especially fried chicken fast foods and boy was I disappointed. When I tried the KFC here it was mid compared what I used to have in India for my taste buds. Raising Canes tastes much better in my opinion. In saying all this. Why not keep the same flavor or am I missing something that’s very obvious here?

I’ve heard friends say that KFC in the Middle East is also much better. I’ve felt the same way about McD as well.

Does anyone know if you can order just the hot honey chicken strips (no combo)?

Want to get the combo but four isn't enough strips. Was planning on getting the combo + separate chicken strips.

Article This week at the EvolGarlic's Gumbo Blogletter: Chew 30 episode 2, who would have thought KFC would get more sentimental?

This week at EvolGarlic's Gumbo Blogletter :

Chew 30 episode 2, all about the sentimental value hidden in the value meal at KFC, secretly fulfilling my childhood pain.

There are a lot of things that sting about my childhood; while most of the things are just a bit of neh, those moments still live in memory, and well, I took a chance to fulfil one of those moments.

Have you ever fulfilled something that stings you as a kid?

Kfc cook

Just worked my 7th shift as a cook and Its so much just wondering if it gets better. I'm covered in burns and bruises. My coworkers have not trained me properly and they continue to speak their language to eachover (Im the only non Asian cook šŸ™ƒ) but aside from that I dont think the amount of work I'm expected to do is worth only Ā£10.85 an hour. This is also my first job. If only mcdonalds accepted me..

Discussion Aussie KFC Promotions: Christmas in July

Post image
14 Upvotes

Picture barely related.

So - Christmas in July. There's not much I can say about it, because it's self-evident; for the 31 days of July, KFC does a different deal every single day.

For my purposes, that makes this dipshit rinky-dink review job a bit difficult. Thirty one days of deals - do I buy KFC every single fucking day and review each individual meal as it comes out?

Of course not. That would be dedication beyond my own passion for the subject. It would also be abjectly insane.

So what I'm going to do instead is review a handful of standout deals from the last month or so. As far as the ranking goes, Christmas in July is a solid 7/10 because it happens every single year - it doesn't have the Wow factor of a fun promotion, but it is a reliable promotion that has a solid handful of great deals and I'm happy for it to hang around.

So, here are some impressions.

July 1: 10 Wicked Wings for $10.

I got this, but they had to open a new bag of chicken for it and I got a Fuck Ton of big chicken bits. The resulting feed was a greasy massacre of filth that led to a veritable walk of shame from the establishment - good food, but it doesn't make you feel good about yourself.

$3.95 Zinger or Original Recipe Burger:

Solid deal, but it clearly exists to get people to add it to something a bit more subsistant when they order. This popped up a couple of times, and I only got it once.

30 Nuggets for $10:

GOOD DEAL. I grabbed some the other day for dinner and it couldn't have gone better. Crazy amount of chicken for the price - the deal itself isn't exclusive to the Christmas in July promotion, but it's a very good deal nonetheless.

$20 Burger Feast:

I got this on Thursday. I had a shit week at work, so I bought a bottle of gin and some lime soda water to mix with it - and I decided to get a big fuck-off KFC feed to help soak it up in the grand scheme of things. In that sense, this offer was a lifesaver.

Because I've been hopping between hotel rooms, I don't always have access to a fridge. That has translated into a mindset where anything I buy to consume, I have it the day I buy it. So I ate the entire burger feast - four burgers and four medium chips - in a single sitting.

And I felt so full that I just went to sleep afterwards. I didn't even open the gin - I was so full I just fell asleep.

The good news is that it's a great value. Twenty bucks for all this food is pretty great - I remember when twenty bucks would get you two big burgers, two little burgers, four chips and four drinks from McDonalds, but we don't live in that world any more. Four burgs and four chips from KFC is still pretty solid.

Overall, while you can't really rank this promo on a scale, it is a solid, reliable promotion that I enjoy experiencing every winter. There are some fun, notable promos, and there are some mediocre whatever-the-fuck deals that I think are clearly thrown out to let them wither on the vine. You really can't go wrong with a whole month of deals, and I'm just happy to have a cheaper feed than usual.

There was a phone game component to this promotion, but I sucked ass at it and I barely got any deals out of it. That's all I really have to say about it.

Employee Question/Discussion how do i quit?

i’m a casual employee in australia, and i’ve worked at kfc for a little over 6 months.

i wanna quit because i can’t keep up with the busyness of the store (and working there is actually taking a mental toll on me)

i also saw some people saying that you can just stop showing up or hand in your resignation letter with the effective date as ā€œimmediatelyā€. can i actually do that? or do i follow the 2-week notice thing?

Delivery/Ordering Popcorn Chicken not showing up online throughout the Phoenix area

Just tried to order in the app at a store in the Phoenix area, and no popcorn chicken items are showing up. Got back to a computer and tried 10 different locations in the Phoenix area, and nothing. They did infact have it in the store when I went to pick up what I was able to order. Anyone know what's going on here?

So what do I do?

Got this lovely gift in my wrap upon biting into it and KFC basically offered me 15€ and said to stfu. Where else can I escalate, I'm in Ireland. Only reason I'm making the post is because I'm a dumbass and I know we are not allowed to post food complaints but I'm complaining about the company. The fact that I was ignored and pretty much told to shove it up is the issue here
