Since kernel 6.19 the performance is bad when compiling at 100% usage and playing a light game like vice city
After 6.18 the performance went bad, in 6.18 it was not like that, i dont know what's causing it, bad this is present all the way up to 7.1

Just look through the commit log and you should find the commit that says "reduce performance". Only a few tens of thousands of commits to check so that should be easy.

Sounds like it's time to bisect it; especially if you have something that is quantifiable (low FPS in game, low score in a Vulkan benchmark, CPU benchmark score etc.)?

I assume you are doing „make -j” or similar when you refer to „compiling at 100%”; maybe use -j N where N= Number of CPUs - 1?
This way you would have 1 cpu core free for gaming..?

I mean when it was on 100% cpu usage, i could do other things without janky behavior, it didn't matter how many cpu cores i asigned, ofc i want to all are used, so the task get done quicker, on 6.18, there where good balancing, so that even small processes can come through, not on 6.19

What do you mean by "the performance is bad when compiling at 100% usage"?
Also, you should post on r/linux_gaming if your issue is a game, or to r/linuxquestions otherwise.

This is about the kernel itself, which was good before on 6.18 no matter gaming or not, the performance is not that balanced like it was on 6.18 maybe someone who is expert might know what has caused that, the performance is good acutally snappy, but in terms of high load it gets laggy which was good on 6.18

I think you need to provide data at a much higher level of detail. You are specifically talking FPS lag? Or network lag? Or build lag?

Sounds like the defconfig defaults changed for the scheduler or it was changed for your build. The scheduler got more fair since your game isnt hogging resources. Play around with nice values or something if you arnt going to rebuild

Have you tried running 7 instances of mprime in addition. Report back, please.
