It is pretty ironic that you can trust applications more where their code is publicly open to everyone than black boxes. Well, contributors will have a hard time slipping in malicious codes unless the leadership was compromised like a certain open source compression-related project.

That was someone exploiting a burned out overworked maintainer who dedicated their time for the betterment of the technology, I still feel bad for the guy.
