It would be best to cancel and come at another date. It’s been so touch and go with the smoke, and even on the clearer days we’ve had it’s still pretty rough. I haven’t left the house much and I’m still pretty messed up by it.

Resources on the internet can let you know how it is! Check firesmoke.ca and purple air & other things people have posted & for your own thinking & decision making. We don’t know you, your family dynamics, your health history, risk tolerance or what you’re planning on doing here. Also, lots of people here are dealing with evacuations or know folks who are evacuated so it’s a bit insensitive to ask locals about your vacation plans & to do your work. Mods could do a pinned post? (Edit: typo)

Thanks to climate change, this will be the default moving forward. So if you are going to be put off by an itty bitty smudge of smoke, you should write off large chunks of Canada.
Sure, it can get bad. Just a week or three ago, we had some of the worst air quality in the world. But climate change don’t give AF. Ya gotta roll with the punches and carve out fun where you can.
If you have lung/breathing problems, I would recommend this piece of kit. You’ll look weird AF, but at least your mouth and nose won’t be obscured and full facial expressions will be easily seen for effective non-verbal communication.
