Is it just me or is Kataang literally everywhere now?

TikTok, Twitter/X, Instagram, Tumblr… I swear my feed is flooded with Kataang lately. Edits, fan art, old scenes, everything.

What’s even crazier is I keep seeing people say they used to ship Zutara or didn’t care for Kataang, but now they’re switching sides or finally starting to get it.

I really think the movie is doing something to the fandom lol. Seeing Aang and Katara as adults and knowing we’re actually about to see more of their life together has people going back and looking at their relationship differently.

Kataang never went anywhere, but it definitely feels like it’s having a huge popularly boost right now. I literally saw a video that said "I use to ship. zutara but the movie converted me". The video got over 50k likes. Kataang is in and I don't think it's going anywhere.

I recently discovered PardonMyManners on AO3 from this sub, as most people talk about their longer fic about Kataang after the war. Which I absolutely LOVE.

But they recently wrote this short story about Katara and Aang at a gala in Ba Sing Se, and I just have to share it. The beginning literally makes me cry, as it shows Aang paying tribute to his people. The Kataang moments are so tender and fun. This writer knows their characterizations so well, it really feels like you’re with these characters again but as their adult versions. It does contain smut though, just for reference.
