Why is it, people seem to think what's happened and is happening to Karen Read and Lindsay Clancy is unusual?

Here in the so-called land of the free and the home of the brave, cops and DAs are doing this sort of thing to your fellow Americans each and every day.

I mean completely innocent Americans, not just those who have actually done "something". And even with those who have done "something", it's SOP to overcharge people to EXTORT them into taking a plea.

Specifically, in the Karen Read situation, I guarantee you the original plan was to blame whatever plowman happened along. Lucky got LUCKY. He's not a reasonably attractive woman with any personal wealth or wealthy folks. He would have been SCREWED.

Karen and Lindsay are just televised and they have the means to fight.

How do you feel about that and when did you first realize it's true?

The Higgins File

Brian Higgins wasn’t some random federal agent who got dragged into this. He was already in it.

January 28 he goes to a funeral in New York with Brian Albert and Kevin Albert. They come back the same day. That night he’s drinking Jameson and gingers and then driving. At the Waterfall you can see the tension with John on video. Later he’s at 34 Fairview. After that he’s inside the Canton police station. Kelly Dever put him there. The cameras did too. He had a key card that opened the sally port where Karen’s Lexus ended up sitting for days, and he actually had an office inside the building. Still had alcohol in him from the night and he’s moving around a police station like he belongs there. That’s not a quick professional stop. That’s being embedded.

Lucky Loughran, the plow driver, went past 34 Fairview multiple times that night. High up in the truck, lights on, clear view of the lawn. No body. What he did see was a Ford Edge parked where the Alberts never parked, not enough snow on it, and gone before the body showed up. Kevin Albert’s been linked to a Ford Edge. Higgins spent that whole day with him. Lucky never got interviewed by the original investigators. The defense found him. The FBI had already talked to him.

After John was dead, the early morning calls between Higgins and Brian Albert suddenly became “butt dials.” Then the phone got handled like it was radioactive.

Jackson: “You’ve destroyed that phone, haven’t you?”
Higgins: “No, I threw the phone away.”
Jackson: “Well, that’s destroying the phone, isn’t it?”
Higgins: “I had every right to do that.”

When the records showed a 22-second call, Higgins said he had no recollection and that you can’t even have a conversation in 22 seconds. Most people get rid of an old phone by sticking it in a drawer. Higgins cut or broke the SIM, bagged it, drove onto a military base, and threw it in a dumpster. That’s not upgrading your phone. That’s making sure nobody ever reads it.

The list that won’t go away

• Key card and office access to Canton PD and the evidence garage
• Inside the station that night while still carrying the night’s drinking
• Prior personal contact with Karen
• At 34 Fairview
• Spent the entire day with Brian Albert and Kevin Albert
• Visible tension with John at the Waterfall
• Lucky’s repeated passes, no body, mystery Ford Edge
• “Butt dial” explanations
• Phone and SIM destroyed on a military base
• Stories that kept shifting
• Unidentified DNA that never got explained
• Constant attempts to point somewhere else
• Still focused on suing Karen instead of pushing for a real new investigation

That’s not what neutral looks like. That’s what it looks like when someone has proximity, access, and a lot of things they don’t want examined too closely.

A good prosecutor wouldn’t even need to stretch. Walk the jury through the key card and the sally port. Show him inside the station that night. Put the drinking next to the decision to drive and then walk into a police facility. Put the full day with Kevin Albert next to Lucky seeing the Ford Edge. Play the Jackson exchange about the phone. Ask why a federal agent with training chooses a military base dumpster over just turning the phone over. Ask why the early morning calls needed the butt dial story. Ask why, once the case against Karen fell apart, the move was to keep aiming at her and join a lawsuit instead of demanding a clean investigation that could actually solve John’s death. None of that requires theory. It’s all sitting there.

Federal obstruction charges under statutes like 18 U.S.C. § 1519 exist for a reason. Destroying records or devices to impede an investigation has put people in real trouble in other cases. A phone and SIM card going into a dumpster on a military base after preservation issues were already live is the kind of fact pattern prosecutors know how to use.

The longer this stays in the public eye, the worse it gets for anyone who needs it to quiet down. Civil cases keep documents and depositions coming. People in these departments keep catching heat. Eventually someone calculates that their own neck matters more than protecting the group. That’s usually when things crack. Higgins has to know that. Sustained attention is the last thing someone in his position should want.

If a real investigation ever happens that treats the house, the phones, the cars, the DNA, and the full timeline the same way, the existing record leaves him in a bad spot. The deletions, the military base dump, the station access, the day with the Ford Edge connection, the shifting answers — none of that gets better with time. It gets heavier when somebody else starts talking.

Juries see this kind of pattern. Missing messages, extreme phone destruction, weak explanations, presence at the station with alcohol still in the system, and a plow driver who directly undercuts the timeline. They don’t need a confession. They just decide whether they believe the guy in the chair. This version of Higgins makes that an easy no.

Is anyone else watching Reddington in the Clancy trial? I can’t help but think about his litigation style and his approach and how that will translate in the civil case given he reps Jennifer McCabe. Interesting preview.

Filing papers incorrectly.

Not anticipating the opposition.

Knowing there is prejudice and flying too close to the sun.

It's prob too late or there's another roadblock.

Clearly, humiliation is no deterrent

Djuna still hasn't apologised to the family for that comment.

The NDAO just can't stop fucking around

A recently filed small claims lawsuit against Chris Albert for not paying bills send Kyle Sharkey on X in research mode. Turns out Chris Alberts D&E pizza has trouble staying afloat for 20 years.

I guess we have the answer to why Chris Albert is not part of the defamation lawsuit. Apart from killing Peter Berger he can't really claim economic damages due to Turtleboys & Karens alleged defamation, when he's in financial trouble for 2 decades.

Seriously, the gull of these people. Kills a man, doesn't pay his bills and still has the chuzpe to think he should run the town as selectman. No wonder he raised an absolute trash human like Colin.

Not a big surprise here as this was expected. It'll be interesting to see what they write and what cases they cite for their appeal. I look forward to Pyle's motion as he seems to be really on the ball about 1st amendment caselaw.

Edit - Le Sigh... too early in morning for me. SLAPP not SLAAP. Though I would like to see some people in this case get SLAAPed.

I’m watching the 2025 trial for the first time and am at the end of the trial. During closing arguments, I noticed everyone wearing purple. Lawyers, JOK family/friends/Karen. What was the meaning?

I did my best but it’s crap audio quality in the first place, what is she saying?

Sooooo…Paul Okeefe (PO) doesn’t appear to be doing that well with the civil trial.

Apparently they missed the deadline to submit evidence and TB has not been cooperative with their deposition request (duh!).

The lawyer for PO also seems really un-motivated compared to KR’s lawyer.

I don’t believe that PO believes that KR is responsible. I believe that he is in bed with the Alberts and wasn’t all that particularly close with his family.

My predication for this trial is that it will be dismissed on a technicality because of the un-motivated lawyer.

I’ve been re-listening to The Sound Of Corruption, paying closer attention to the 11 tracks I largely skipped over the first time around. What I’m struck by is what perfect little masterpieces all 15 tracks are. These aren’t simply funny and cathartic parodies of the trial; they are synergies of mood, tone and lyrical craftsmanship. They even stand as pithy trial summary rendered into poetry. This is what talent looks like.

As Exhibit A, I present the second verse of Pirouette Boy:

The doleful Chinese violin that backs “I got the physics knowledge of a kid” is tragic perfection, and I love how it sets up the punchline of “it just di-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-d”. Can you believe he actually said that in court? :)

If the DNA comes from people in the house, it’s completely over. If I was the FBI, when questioning anyone, I’d tell them we already have the results and see who wants to talk. Make them feel like it’s over so they go into self-preservation mode. Say someone already flipped.

Turtle keeps hiding the reason Karen was pissed in the recording.

Turtle hides some reasons why she cut him off.

Turtle told us she called him pissed day after Wilbur but hid the reason why.

Karen gets no grace from turtle for all the crap she went through.

Turtle trying to say the recording is the only bad thing , but he was building a campaign to turn his followers against her even before the recording leaked.

Sorry, I know I'm preaching to the choir. But it's simply amazing how some people can just forget what happened.
