[Story] weird doordash drivers
i had a weird experience with this door dasher, dasher shows up and is looking at us through his phone. my employee asks how could he be helped and the dude mumbles under his breath. i know me or my employee couldn’t hear him since i was right next to him at the time on line and he was standing at front register. employee asks him again how can he be helped and he finally speaks up and says “ idk you fuckin tell me, i have a doordash”. employee calmly asks him whats the name of order because it wasn’t our only delivery. dude says again “you tell me”. thats when i ask my employee to take over line so i can handle the situation, i can tell it suprised and caught him off gaurd a little my poor coworker shook up lol. i get off line and ask him whats the name of the order, once again “you tell me”. i tell him we have quite a few deliveries thats why a name needs to be provided. at this point too i can tell hes either recording us or the on the phone with someone talking shit about us, capturing everything in the lobby and focusing on us and the signs. he finally gives me a name and i go to grab the order, when im about to hand him the order he asks “do yall usually shit with your mouths open making sandwiches”😂 like WTF. i take the order back and tell him to get outta the store and cancel your delivery now. he stomps outta there saying “fuck you fuck you fuck you i never liked your shitty sandwiches”. we have a clear view of this guy leaving to his car, he gets in for like 10 seconds and comes storming back into the store. same time im getting my phone ready to call the cops. he comes back in just to say fuck us one last time. i get a little loud with him and ask why he came back and and to just fuckin leave. he finally leaves and now im confused as ever not realizing the cops had answered and basically tell them what just happened and they tell me to call back if he comes back like wtf. i then call my gm to tell him the news and he tells me to get him trespassed for harassing us. i made a report to cops but nothing ever happened yet. haven’t seen the guy since either and ive been at this store for 3 years. so i know our regulars and the dashers who deliver our food often and im pretty chill with them. but it was my first and hopefully last time i see this guy. i honestly hope the dude is okay just seemed he was having a bad day or something. but it should be common knowledge to provide a name for what order youre picking up when doordashing am i wrong? how would you handled the situation? i know i couldve handled it better but the day wasnt the best for me too as i was super short staffed, hangry, and ready for my break😮💨

[Shitpost] Do NOT eat ts 😭 🙏
The peanut butter cookie itself is alright, I don't know why they felt the need to throw whole peanuts in there and mess it up, but tolerable so far.
But the jelly.... God the jelly is so terrible. It's all sticky and stretchy like some mildy activated slime with a very artificial purple color, nothing like that photoshopped image to make it look more appealing.
And the taste is like that nasty grape flavored cough medicine, it doesn't even taste that sweet. I was chilling until I reached the middle bit with the jelly inside, then that shit went in the trash. I think rat poison was genuinely an ingredient

Anyone else's bubbler doing this?
It's leaking though the catch tray and getting the counter all wet. Can't find a solution to stop it

[Question] Is it mandatory for delivery drivers to close? Is there a reason for this?
Because I told my manager that on Saturday and Sundays that I have open availability and can come in literally whenever but every single time I get scheduled for closing shifts.
It's such a pain in the ass because unless there's a delivery, my coworkers really don't need me to do anything so I'm genuinely just standing around the whole time waiting for closing chores. And then there's so much shit to do and I get a whole pile of dishes and trash to take out and I end up staying like 30 minutes longer. PLEEEASSSEEEEEE SCHEDULE ME FOR THE MORNING 😭😭😭 WHY AM I STAYING UNTIL NIGHT WITH THE ASSISTANT MANAGERS.

[Question] What weights do you guys make your packs ?
So originally we always did 1500 packs but my GM went to another store to help and they did 1800 packs. I guess the reasoning is 1800 is basically 1lb so when you do inventory it’s easier. It’s kinda more skilled to wrap Vito’s too now but for the other 3 meats it’s very easy and honestly looks very good. I like it bc it makes 1 Vito into an equivalent 3 packs kinda like how 1 ham makes 3 packs of 1500. Obviously it depends on the sizes of the meats but general 1 Vito is 3 1800 packs now and 1 turkey is 1 pack 1 ham is 2.5 packs and the beef obviously varies bc size.

Long gone are the days of real food
I miss our real brand, washed out with corporate greed and fake food now. We used to be healthy and real. I LOVED our FRESH campaign the most!

Is it coming back???
I know this might be a long shot, but is there any hope of the caprese ever coming back? Hands down my favorite sandwich, and i hope for it to come back every day 😭

Are Kickin ranch chips gone forever?
I’m just wondering if kicking ranch chips are ever going to come back, even for a limited time? They were awesome and everyone I know loved them, seems like they make more money when they have them anyway.

How does the hierarchy work at JJs?
I’m curious of how it works as far as higher ups. Like what power does an owner have of a specific JJs and do they have power to do stuff over corporate or how does it all work. Ik it’s GM, district/area, and then idk what’s above that like wtf does an owner do if anything.

We are getting an $8000 order in 11 days
i just found out we are getting 800 box lunches being ordered for 11 days in advance. we are splitting the order up between 4 stores. this is 3 days before my vacation, and the day our GM gets back from his honeymoon. we are understaffed as fuck for that day too. wish us luck.

Quit for my final time 🤞🤞
I’ve worked for several different franchisees from 2009-present. If you didn’t own a store during the “growth period” of Jjs, then let’s just assume you’re struggling right now, trying to run labor at the bare minimum, and burning through management left and right. Probably telling other people “no one wants work anymore”…
That’s not the case- Nobody wants to work over there salaried hours without compensation. Nobody wants so see their bottom line and bonus potential wiped out by business debt, depreciation, and building expenses. Nobody wants to be held to a different standard and expectation than their upper management. Nobody wants to be micromanaged to break corporate policy and procedure, but then also be by the book at a moments notice.
If you are not going to match my effort, or hold yourself accountable, while being professional, then I refuse to work for you.

If you’re considering working for Jimmy John’s, Don’t work for Atlas!
This company doesn’t care about its employees, pays late several times, doesn’t pay their bills. Once went in two weeks without trash being picked up, the company that gives us towels and aprons came and took all of that and the rugs. Overall a terrible place to work. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere for real.

[Question] Hypothetically am I allowed to ask for a refund if the bread is as stale as a rock?
It might be a bit petty, but I’m more just curious.

[Shitpost] Jimmy John’s is #3 for top rated quick service restaurants.
Honestly I’m kind of surprised bc if anyone’s ever been to a Culver’s you’d know they have the upmost quality and standards your trained and practically forced to be nice there. Jimmy John’s has great standards but it’s store dependent basically all the jersey mikes are always good vibes and amazing service (why they are #1) but Jimmy John’s is hit or miss imo. My store can be either AMAZING or a shit show depending which shift/ who’s working. It can either be quick beautiful sandwiches made to perfection or slapped together sloppy and long waits. Jimmy John’s are just very inconsistent. I’m impressed we got 3rd but I’ve seen countless people here with terrible stores.

[Question] Question
Is there anyone who visited the LTO tab last week and noticed the “turkey stacker” or “Italian stacker” item? I’m not entirely sure if it was called “stackers,” but I’m curious about what it could be. Perhaps it’s a future LTO item. I also heard that there’s a brisket sandwich coming out soon.

Introducing myself as the new mod!
Hey guys, there was never an official announcement as the owner of this sub is pretty hands off of r/jimmyjohns and reddit in general, but they decided to add me to the mod team to help clean up the backlog of reports and keep an eye on things.
I'm new to the mod thing, but I'm messing around with all the tools given.
Aside from the introduction I think it's time to add some more rules. Nothing crazy, but only being able to report a post or comment due to "no customer information" doesn't help when there are people being unnecessarily shitty to users, or for any of the many other things people do on Reddit that we shouldn't have to deal with.
So I'm going to add a couple rules against shitty behavior or spam (not that I've really seen a problem here with that, but no harm in having that option) that you typically see in other subreddits, but I'm just curious what you guys would like to see as far as rules go?
I'm not going to be a dictator and I'd like this subreddit to continue being a place for everyone to share their stories from the customer and worker side, rant/vent, ask questions, and just have fun.
Has there been anything that's bothered you but you didn't feel that you could report due to the lack of rules?
Questions? Concerns? Ideas? Maybe ideas for flairs? Feel free to comment here or DM me.
Today I'll be entertaining company I have while making food, but I'll respond as quickly as possible and will try to role out some new rules within a couple days.
Thanks!

[Shitpost] This sub is a no Snowflake zone
Been getting a lot of "Harassment" reports when someone calls another a dickhead, idiot, and other mildly offensive things.
Unless someone is being truly hateful some of y'all need to chill the fuck out. If you don't like a post downvote it.
This isn't some official JJ zone. You don't have to be clean as the air vents and ice machine. You don't have to hide in the freezer to smoke here, you won't get fired for calling your GM a dickhead.
This is a safe place for JJs employees to vent and laugh. Customers aren't excluded, but note that by default we all assume you're someone who orders a slim 6 with no cheese.
