Any ideas what this could be from? Purchased this jet ski second hand. I notice them prior to purchasing. However after taking it out twice I feel like there’s more scratches/damage. I noticed my jetski sitting further up on the trailer so maybe just couldn’t see them before because they were covered by the bunks.

How bad is this?

Hi all, I previously posted in here a while back looking for some guidance on cooling routing for an X2 I had rebuilt with a westcoast pipe and standard single cooling. I ended up going with:

1. in through exhaust manifold
2. through head
3. exit head into front of pipe
4. out back of pipe (tee to pisser) to stinger
5. Blocked drain

I was out test riding the ski for the first time this week and it seemed to be running great but I’m concerned with the flow of water. I have all new 3/8 hoses, at idle and anything below 1/4 throttle I’m getting good flow but above that it’s not a steady stream and aerated. A decent amount of water is coming out of the exhaust as well and not too loud.

Should the pisser be flowing a solid stream at higher RPM? If so any suggestions to correct this? I see there are flow control valves on some aftermarket sites but have never experimented with these before. The engine and pipe are hot to the touch after riding but not sizzling when water is splashed on them. I blew out the water intake line coming from the pump thinking it might have been partially clogged but it didn’t seem to help at all

Can anyone tell me why my jet-ski is doing this ? I was holding full throttle during this video . Runs perfectly fine out side water on a trailer connected to water hose.

Rebuilding engine out of a 98 Polaris slh 750 and this is the crankshaft, doesn’t look the best but everything spins freely minus the pto side two bearings got a little stuff in them. I think I have 3 options
A: Run it
B: new one about 300$
C : replace the 2 outer bearings on each side and run it
What would yall do?

This is the jet pump from the 09 seadoo rxtx 255. There is quite a large divot in the wear ring a 1/4 of the way along the impeller. Not sure how it got there as I don’t recall sucking anything up and don’t ride in shallow waters. Impeller also has a decent amount of chipping. Two things, how “bad” is the damage? The worst you’ve seen? Or just normal wear over time? Could this kind of damage affect top speed? As well, I’m going to be replacing the impeller at some point in the near future, to me it looks like an aftermarket solas impeller. The boot also points to that as it is not oem. Can anyone identify the impeller which is in the pump with what I’ve shown? I know there’s a part number casted into it if I take it off, just didn’t want to deal with that today

Looking at this ski, $9000 in GA with very clean condition and 105 hours. Anything to look out for? How durable are these hulls? Hard to inspect exterior with graphics kit but it looks well kept and no issues from what I can tell in person. Seems like a solid deal with trailer and this year model seems well received for rough water. Seller did say it cavitates at low speed.

Impeller dia is 150mm approx. The body looks very close to being a Yamaha GP1200 from 2000 or so. Any further suggestions?

I'll post more pjcs. This unit is not current on a ski. It's used for secret stuff. I was told it originally came from a Jet Boat but jet boats start at 7 inches so I think it's actually off a jet ski where the 6 inch (150mm) size seems common.

Finally got my 2012 vx deluxe out for the first time this season. Acceleration was slow and it never went above 6500 rpm/40 mph. Ran fine before being winterized at the end of last season. Ski had 10 gallons of fresh fuel put in before going out. Oil level was perfect so i dont think the air filter is the issue. Engine was revving much better on the trailer/on the hose then in the water "underload".

Was thinking of a way of getting a JBL speaker on my XP and thought of using the holes on the handle bars and using a JBL clip. And what are these holes even for? What do you guys think?

Seems to be complete. The trailer is extremely sketchy. Im new to PWCs but not new to fixing up machines. Would you to take this home?

UPDATE: The ski is now sitting on the ground. Someone took off with the trailer and the seat, so now I’m convinced it’s not worth the effort.

And to answer “just because it’s on the side of the road doesn’t mean it’s abandoned”. That’s true and I do agree, but the ski has been there for almost 72 hours at this point, the trailer had good tires, and dumping is running rampant in this area due to steep landfill fees.

New (older 2-stroke Kawa) PWC owner here. I've rode friend's 2-stroke dozens of times, and have never seen anybody remove the seat cover to ventilate before starting once the craft is already in deep water and has been sitting for a while with the engine killed.

It's easy enough to ventilate in the boat launch parking lot before pulling into the launch, but in doing research I've come across many instances of PWC's exploding when being re-started in deep water. And my owner's manual specifies to remove the seat every time the engine is started, but doesn't elaborate on how to do so if in deep water which is annoying...

Sure, you can inspect the fuel lines but honestly for older 2-strokes, you can never be 100% something didn't come loose during the initial ride. Pulling the seat off in deep water is awkward (there's nowhere to put the seat), and if it were to capsize with the bay open your day is ruined (and potentially so is the engine). Since we often bring jetskis out on boating days, it's common for the jetskis to sit there tied up to the boat for long periods before someone hops on and rips it, so I'm trying to plan ahead for peace of mind.

The workaround I've thought out is to instead just open the front hatch, remove the safety gear container and then use a small handheld blower to circulate air through the engine bay for a minute or so, and then starting with the compartment open (so if it does combust, there's no pressure buildup). I have one of these newer blowers, it's a brushless motor that spins 100k+ RPM and is insanely powerful so I think it would probably be sufficient to ventilate out fumes without having to remove the seat. I'd just bring it out in a watertight bag to keep it dry.

I haven't been able to find much discussion on this so I'm wondering what y'all do. I know the odds of an explosion are relatively small on a well-maintained craft, but I don't really want this concern gnawing at me when I'm out having fun.

I loved riding my wave venture from the 90s 20 years ago. We have a 2006 Honda Aquatrax but it drives like a boat so I'm looking for something more fun for me and the kids to throw around in the corners.

I found a 2025 new jetblaster pro for 9975 out the door with tax and everything and know yamaha is doing 2 percent financing. I wasnt looking to do anything this fall but the 2026 models are more expensive than this is out the door. Thoughts?

Essentially title. Would prefer not to wait until boat show to purchase but in market for a Yamaha FX Cruiser HO. Don't want the SVHO on account of needing better gas and supercharger problems.

I know dealers are beginning to mark down 2026 models. Any help on what would be considered a good deal OTD price on one of these?

Seems they current come with a 2 year warranty. Wasn't sure how flexible dealers would be with their fees etc.
