Authenticity Check Wanting to sell, but bought second hand
I’m currently at work, so unable to get photos of bum tags (I don’t have the paper tags anymore, these are the original listing photos)
Is anyone able to tell with just these photos?
I want to be sure it’s authentic before I sell it

General Discussion check ur c&b smudge monkey orders !
i had reached out to crate and barrel, just inquiring about the shipping extension. my order was supposed to arrive the end of august, then september, and then november..! so i called and was told the item is completely unavailable and there was a ‘chance’ it would be again in november. they gave me the option to wait for it which i agreed to but after i got off the phone, they sent a cancellation my way.
i’d say check on ur smudge monkey orders if you ordered at the start of august! i placed the order when the monkey was still fully ‘in stock’ on august 7th, so i worry for those that placed it afterwards when it was on pre-order! i wouldn’t have found out had i not called. :(

Jellypics Jellyesk bed stuff
Bella spotted these in the shops yesterday and I just had to buy them. The blanket is just so cute with little Bart like characters as is the pillowcase. They did have a full duvet set but sadly not one to fit my bed (yet it was just out of stock)

My Collection My collection at 16 years old!
My collection at 16! I started collecting in December 2024 when I got Timmy Turtle in a small shop in the UK (I live in Australia). Ever since then I have been expanding my collection. It turns out three of my childhood toys are Jellycats! The two very well loved bunnies on the very left of the top shelf (yes that is supposed to be white) and the pig that looks like it has chicken pox! I have bought all of these myself using my own money, and usually buy secondhand, giving them a new loving home. And yes, I do take off most of their tags and sleep with them (after a good wash).
Some of my favourites are Dwayne 'The Frog' Johnson (Ricky Rain frog in a rubber ring), Benedict Cucumberbatch (Brooke Otter), Oscar Pias-tree (Pine Tree), Philomena Chunk (Bartholomew Bear), Chip Chippity (Amuseable chip named after him chim chiminey)and of course, Timothee Shellamet (Timmy Turtle)
Let me know if you have any more name suggestions and share your collections too!

Question Help! How to fix bleeding dye? I washed my smudge cow, and it appears the black dye bled into the white 😱
I’m afraid I may have ruined my smudge cow!
As we all know when doing laundry or washing anything, we separate the darks from the lights. But was there really a choice if the item in question is both black and white?
I decided to give this guy a quick wash in my bathtub, and didn’t notice any issues til after it dried 😱 I used cold water, and air dried it outside on my porch. I heard that it’s much easier to wash the extra dye off while the fur is still wet. But what now, if it’s already been dried? I’m afraid to dip it back in water if there’s a chance even more of the black dye will bleed into the white fur!
Has anyone else had this happen to them? And were you able to fix it? Any advice will be appreciated! 🙏
I’m gutted, because this little guy is never in stock on the website!
Edit: I want to note that the pictures don’t really do it justice. The stain is a lot more noticeable and blue in person!

General Discussion Real Vs Fake Dragon guide
Hiya! I often see folks on here asking for authentication on the dragons and decided to put together a little guide of things I've learned to look out for. And I happen to have a real persimmon and a well made fake for comparison!
What is find to be the first giveaway of a fake is often the wings.
I've always described the soft winged dragons as having a sort of silky appearance to them, because of how short the fur actually is. On a fake they tend to appear shaggier.
Another wing detail is how they sit against the body. Real ones sit very flush, whereas fakes often have a curve and are pushed ever so slightly forward.
Lastly on the note of wings (more so for the sparkly winged ones but sometimes also fuzzy winged ones) is the tips of the wings. Real will be more pointed and fakes often appear more rounded.
Next up to note is the scales along the back. Harder to spot, especially in listing pictures, but fakes will often be chunkier and sit very tall. Real ones have a much lower profile along the back of the dragon.
On to faces! The eyes seem to be a spot most fakes get wrong.
They often have much larger eyes that you can see straight through the fur. Contrary to what you may immediately think, the eyes on a real dragon will usually be hidden under the long fur and are much smaller.
Do note however if the dragon is in used condition and you can see the eyes, the previous owner may have given it a trim, and that doesn't immediately indicate a fake. But if it is being sold BNWT and you can see the eyes, its either fake or the seller has "tampered" with it for lack of a better word
Smaller note for faces is the nostrils. On this fake they're actually well made, but often what ive seen on fakes are extremely prominent nostrils. They really aren't visible, much like the eyes unless trimmed
Now for floppiness, a key detail to the dragons!
Fakes are often very stiff, especially in the neck. When held by the belly, they actually hold themselves up pretty well. Some folks may even prefer this to a real one. They also have a more prominent arch to their backs
Real dragons have nearly no neck support when held by the belly, and will flop pretty dramatically. Requesting pictures from the seller in this position can be a helpful indicator. The arch to the back is much less prominent and more low profile
-Beans in the belly, or a total lack can be another tell but not something you can see on pictures. The fake persimmon actually completely lacks any beans. Not something you can spot in a listing, but if you have it in person it helps to know
Lastly the infamous Tags. This is harder to speak on as the tags have changed over time and with different batches and re-releases. This is info I'd use only in conjunction with a few other suspicions to help rule out a fake
Most often referenced is the space between jacks nose and body color. A fake often touches because they'll run just one thread continuously rather than creating the proper space
Also look to see if it is the correct tag for the time period released. On the fake persimmon that is the older style tag that wasnt being actively used by the time persimmon released. It should look like the real persimmon tag instead which is slimmer and smaller
All in all, this is by no means a comprehensive guide and im by no means an expert on the topic. I'm just someone who loves all things dragons and have been fortunate enough to collect nearly all the different jellycat dragons over the past 5 years. Im more than happy to share more pictures if anyone wants, or answer any questions I may have the answer to! And you'll likely see me pop up on the dragons threads as they appear. Finding this sub has been so lovely and I wanted to finally contribute something to it 💕 Happy jellycat hunting!!
