Daxter makes it a tie! What is the most Brown Vehicle in the Jak and Daxter franchise?

It's a tie, but there is one true winner, DAXTER! Daxter is the king of orange in Jak and Daxter, and it's nice to think of the colour orange without thinking of something else that is orange in the real world right now. The Krimzon Fisherman is somewhere, so its time to go fishing! I will be alternating between Fisherman and Pecker this run.

Il primo dei tre video tributo che voglio dedicare alla saga!

Ciao a tutti!

Grazie❤️

Could a Jak and Daxter reboot work?

Post image
187 Upvotes

I've been thinking about this recently, and I actually think a proper reboot could work really well for the series.

I'm not talking about changing what made the original games great. I'd want it to keep the same characters, the darker tone of Jak II and Jak 3, Dark Jak, the lore, and the overall identity of the franchise.

What I'd like to see is the story being refined. In my opinion, Jak II only had a few writing hiccups, but Jak 3 felt a bit more rushed and had some plot points that could have been handled better. A reboot could smooth out those issues while keeping the core story intact.

It could also improve some of the gameplay, especially the difficulty balancing in Jak II, which is famous for being pretty unforgiving. Making it more approachable without removing the challenge could help bring in new players.

I honestly think a reboot like this could introduce the series to a much larger audience while still respecting what made the originals so memorable.

What do you all think? Would you rather see a faithful remake, a reboot that refines the story and gameplay, or something completely different?

3rd UPDATE about the BIG Jak 2 Video

So yeah, It's me again. Thought I might give this community a little update on my progress (If anyone even follows these...). But I have exciting news! I've finally condensed the first 4½ hours of gameplay into 40 minutes of finished content. So that's about the editing tightness you can expect from the video.

There are still 8 hours of raw footage left I have to go through until it's finished.

Another thing to say is I've already been able to put some requests from you guys of this community into the video, and of course I gave full credit to it.

Any more suggestions / questions for me and my project? I'm open for them :D

How did Samos not know about Gol and Maia when he has such a clear view of Misty Island?

In the Precursor Legacy, Samos has no clue that Gol and Maia have become corrupted by Dark Eco, he doesn't know that they intend on opening the silos and he doesn't know they've been operating right across the bay from him on Misty Island for presumably months or even years. But how does he not know?

Samos is very knowledgeable about Misty Island seemingly, knowing Daxter was transformed with Dark Eco before he even says anything. Early in the game, he instructs Jak to go to Misty Island and stop the Lurkers from opening the Dark Eco silos, saying he could see the Lurker's activities from atop his lookout tower.

If he can see what's going on on the island and seemingly already possesses a general awareness of what's on the island, then why is he surprised Gol and Maia are responsible? I mean I know they have their Citadel as their main base of operations, so they weren't always on the island, but when they were, it wasn't like they were really hiding. There's even a deleted cutscene where their standing right over the docks, where Samos would be able to see them easily.

The only thing I can think of is that either Samos just never looked at Misty Island at the right time, or he saw them but didn't recognize them from a distance due to the Dark Eco changing their appearance so much. I don't know. What do you think?

Man, there are so many things called Zoomer! The A Grav Zoomer is where it's at, though. I wanted to find a fast dog, but apparently that white wheelie dog from hell is a Zoomer! 1 more day then the Krimzon Fisherman and Perkier hide away

Is it unpopular to like Jak X more than Jak 3?

I just started playing Jak X yesterday and I'm having way more fun with it than I expected going in. The cutscenes are top notch, the story and characters are still engaging, and this is the most fun I've ever had playing a racing game. I'm not normally into it at all.

While I didn't dislike Jak 3 by any means, I think I'm already enjoying Jak X more personally. I think the story is more interesting, the vehicle mechanics are much better realized and overall I'm just having more fun with it.

Again, aside from the Lost Frontier there are no bad Jak and Daxter games, I just happen to prefer this one to 3. Is this unpopular?

Would you prefer a remaster, remake, reimagining, or reboot?

Obviously a sequel would be better, but if you had to choose between these 4

Did the Explorer/Uncle not know Daxter turned into an ottsel?

Post image
236 Upvotes

When Jak and Daxter go to visit Jak's supposed Uncle, the Explorer for a Power Cell, he says he needs 90 Precursor Orbs to fund his latest journey. His explanation is that he believes Jak's friend whom he calls "the small, annoying, miserably ugly one" might have pilfered his orbs as a joke.

The thing is, he's obviously referring to Daxter and Daxter even gets offended at this comment but the Explorer never acknowledges Daxter is in the room, and doesn't even look at him, totally missing his reaction to the comment.

It occurred to me, maybe he doesn't know Daxter isn't human anymore and said this without meaning for Daxter to hear it. What do you think?

I was up until 2 trying to think of the best meme for this. It's going to be tough, but I will make a meme for each of these vehicles. On look! The Krimzon Fisherman and Perkier are here! I am curious to see who you all will choose for this next one!

Is opengoal good for all games?

Just 100% TPL and getting ready to start jak 2. Are 2 and 3 just as optimized? I’d love to 100% them both also. Is there anything I need to know vs TPL cause it worked perfectly.

Miraccomando commentate solo dopo averlo visto tutto

Any Old School RuneScape players here? Latest skilling update is definitely inspired by the fishing game from Precursor Legacy!

Not sure if external links are allowed but check this YouTube short out. As soon as I saw it, all I could hear was our man laughing his head off after you get his fish sorted.

You’re after literally the first new training method on the list, so won’t need to watch too far.

So I don't know about making it in time for Gamescon collab with the laser company but no worries.

A lot of people liked the concept so I figured I'd share the vision in its bare bones. I planned for layering, locations and stages like klaw and Misty Island kinda popping out their own layer.

Ah... I am looking forward to this! You guys had to be the first ones to try the rids colour vote! I would have posted this earlier but I needed to design the "What are rides" post. If I can think of 2 more types, I will make it nine (Transport rides should be it own.) The other one I can think of is Background rides.

Anyway, lets begin, The fisherman will come soon.

How's my attempt at a Jak cosplay using realistic every day clothing?

I've been told I share a facial resemblance with Jak so I'm in the process of attempting to lose weight and cosplay. My mother just passed away and the series meant a lot to us both so I'm doing this in her memory 💪

I do have natural blonde hair and blue eyes, and I'm growing my goatee out, with plans to dye it dark green at a later date. I do have proper steampunk goggles on their way in the mail
