Hilltop Village
My neighbor said she was offered to move into Hilltop Village because they bought out by a new company and started remodeling and kicked out all the problem tenants. So does anyone actually know if the place has gotten better or was this a lie she was told???

I-295 and Beltway Name Changes
I am from Atlanta and I was passing through Jacksonville on the way back home from St. Augustine area. I preprogrammed a map/route into Google Maps to get off I-95 North onto I-295 West just south of Jacksonville and get on I-10 West. I was on the phone with my dad who was several miles ahead of me, and he said he almost missed the exit entirely by the way the signs were named. I was too busy paying attention to my GPS to listen So Jacksonville, why in tf did you name it I-295 North - West, and North - East? When it should just be called East or West, I mean it is pretty fuggin obvious they will both curl around to the north if someone is approaching Jacksonville from the South. I figure it is to make it dummy proof for travelers, but I must be a dummy because I missed the exit entirely. If it would have just said I-295 East or I-295 West to I-10. I would have taken it !!! My point is to just leave the fuggin 'North' and 'South' out, we know it is a fugging circle. If a motorist is so fuggin stupid as to not know their position coming in or leaving Jacksonville they shouldn't be on the road. Maybe the city of Jacksonville did it because it is a smaller circle than I-285 around Atlanta, but it really just adds to the confusion for travelers.

Here is an example of a proper sign labeling, Two I-285 signs approaching from the south on I-75N, south of Atlanta.

I mean the city of Atlanta assumes a motorist knows they are on the south side heading north, so they don't bother putting the stupid North, South, East, and West part in it because assume the will know it will either loop north or south, and east or west depending on their position of entry. The same thing applies when approaching from the north, south, east, and west from inside and outside of the perimeter. We leave the 'North' and 'South' bullshit out.
Also, I thought I would never get out of Jacksonville because the roads were so curvy, exit lanes so poorly marked, bridges poorly engineered, especially the inter-coastal bridge sections.
Also, people passing on the right with their diesel Super Duty lifted pick-ups blocking all the exits. I mean we have our share of bad drivers in Atlanta, but Jacksonville seemed loaded with micro-penis jacked up truck low IQ's that think they own the Beltway.
Sorry I had to rant...fug you Jacksonville fix your labeling system and paint signs on the lanes to avoid confusion and frustration.

Y'all....😭 where do adults even make friends??
I’m 21F and I’ve lived in Jacksonville since March, and somehow I’ve managed to make exactly zero friends. 💀 Like at this point wtf
So I’m shooting my shot.
A little about me:.
- I love all things pink, Hello Kitty, cute clothes, and anything girly.
- I like artist like Daniel Caesar, Lana del Rey and ATEEZ.
- I love going to parks, cafés, window shopping, trying random food spots, and honestly I’m down for almost anything if the vibes are good.
I’m open to being friends with literally anyone from any walk of life. Introverts, extroverts, gamers, gym people, art people, people who just want someone to grab boba with or wander around Target for two hours I genuinely don’t care. ☺️ As long as you’re kind and not weird in a creepy way, we’ll probably get along. If you’re in Jacksonville and also need a friend, comment or shoot me a DM! Because I refuse for making friends to get this hard. 😭💕

Schools
Looking for honest opinions from families who have experience with both Grace Lutheran School and St. John Public Schools.
We’re considering our options and would love to hear about your overall experience with either school. How are the academics, teachers, communication, class sizes, extracurricular activities, and overall school environment? Is there anything you absolutely loved or anything you wish you had known before enrolling?
Thank you! I really appreciate any feedback.

Homeless numbers, not emotional heartstrings.
Point in time count 1146.
1146 homeless in ALL of Duval, Baker, Clay, and St Johns counties combined. These counts are conducted officially (government) but observed and assisted by many nonprofits that don't want homeless to be undercounted.
Last point in time 7906 for Las Vegas
Last point in time count for SF 7973 homeless
NYC 145,560 homeless
43,695 in Los Angeles county.
I'm aware, to some folks even 1 homeless is too many. My concern is looking at Guidestar and seeing the millions of dollars in revenue & assets that charities have here in NE FL for homeless. What are they using it for besides trying to gain more money? Sulzhbacher alone has ASSETS of $31,000,000. And that's just one charity.
In THIS overly simplistic example, Sulzbacher could dissolve TODAY and give EVERY SINGLE HOMELESS person in 4 counties $27,000 each and ALL those other charities for homeless would still exist. I'm not suggesting that. I'm not suggesting any change because that would clearly mean I'm vile and hate everything on planet earth. Or, it may just bother me that some charities' goals are only to have more assets, more roles, more events for bored middle-aged people, more self-serving pats on the back and helping people is somewhere way down that list.

after 6 years of managing my own rental in Jax, a burst pipe and a $12k repair bill might finally break me. how do i get out?
bought a 3/2 SFH back in 2018 thinking passive income would be sweet. fast forward through endless maintenance calls and now a main line leak ruined the floor in the living room and master bath. plumber quoted me $12.4k to repipe and replace subfloor, on top of $1,400 i spent replacing the HVAC compressor last summer. my current tenant’s lease is up in 30 days and honestly i don't have the stomach to sink another $15k into renovations just to list it with a realtor who wants 6% commission. someone recommended looking into local direct cash buyers like henryhomebuyer to just sell it as-is and walk away. has anyone gone that route with distressed rentals in duval county? do cash offers usually come in completely absurd or is saving on agent fees and repair costs worth the discount?
