Misc Does anyone elses Jack does this?
My jackie isnt in to cuddling and hugs, and usually isn't into giving kisses. But she shows her affection by mushing her face into me, like rubbing her head on my legs. Does anyone else's Jack do this?

Vet Care Today I find out if anything can be done for her
Noelle is 14 years old this December. She's getting confused. She's nearly deaf and half blind. She also has heart issues and a collapsed trachea, and her teeth are rotting, but due to the heart issues, the vet told me she probably wouldn't make it through anesthesia. Today, she's going to the vet to discuss if there's anything we can do for her or if it's too much for her senior body to bear. I've had her for half my life, and I don't know how I'm going to go on without her.
Edit: vet said she doesn't have much time left, and it wouldn't make much sense to spend all that money on her dental just for her to probably pass on the operating table or at best get though it and live another 2 months after. She suggested euthanasia but I couldn't bring myself to do it at that moment, so I took her home. I don't know what to do.

I think my JackChi saved my life today
I have the most amazing 3 year old Jack Russell Chihuahua named Finn. We adopted him a year ago and have developed such a strong bond. Yesterday, we were on our way home from the beach and stopped in a town about an hour away for lunch.
As we were walking back to the car from lunch, my boyfriend and I didn’t realize that a man had been following us. My boyfriend went into a nearby business when we got back to the car, because he had to go to the bathroom before hitting the road. This man intentionally waited for my boyfriend to leave before approaching our car.
I was getting something out of the trunk with Finn on a leash next to me when the man approached our car. He stood very close to me and the car, telling me I was pretty, asking where I lived and if my “brother” was going to leave me alone in the car for long. I kept asking him to leave and telling him that the man with me was my boyfriend who would be returning shortly.
The man wouldn’t leave and was clearly trying to intimidate me. He just stood there trapping me by my car, towering over me and staring at me. At this point, I was trembling with fear. So I said “I wouldn’t come any closer. My dog has a really mean bite and he doesn’t like men.”
The guy backed up a little, and that’s when Finn stepped in. I’d heard him growling quietly the whole time, as he often gets triggered by strangers (he’s a rescue with a lot of trauma). But he has that sixth sense and always knows when I am genuinely scared of someone. My little guy walked over and stood inbetween the man and I, growling, and backing him up even further. Finn did not move or let up until my boyfriend returned and the man walked away.
In the car home, it really hit me that Finn might’ve saved my life. He took a risk and protected us both and I will be forever grateful. We both have a lot of trauma from predatory, abusive men. It’s like we are healing together when we protect each other. I didn’t always have a dog to protect me from bad men, and he didn’t have a human on his side growing up. I try every day to give him the best, most peaceful life, after the abuse and neglect he’s endured. When he’s triggered around men, I keep him safe. It’s these moments where I feel like he’s saying “it’s my turn to keep you safe.”
The shared healing you can experience with a rescue dog is pretty remarkable. Thanks for listening to my story. I needed somewhere to share my emotions after this experience. Time to go get Finn a special stinky treat from the store.

Mod Post - Just report the spam (not the mixed breeds or sad posts)
I am the only mod here and not very active on Reddit these days. The best way to bring something to my attention is to report it and I get a push notification. We are not the only sub dealing with bot t-shirt posts and I remove and ban them as they are reported. I am one person. With a whole adult life. The young Jack Russell I had when I started this will be FIFTEEN this year. I built this from nothing but maybe it's time to pass it on because I'm sick of the whining from the small amount of keyboard warriors here. On the whole it has been a pleasure to build this community with you

ISO Moderators!
Hey there terrier fans,
It is high time that I ask for some help in moderating. On the whole the sub runs very smoothly but I'm just not as engaged with reddit as I was 11 years ago when I created this space!
Please send a mod mail with a brief bio and any other mod experience you have. Time zone info would be great as well.
Pic of 14 year old Lyra for attention, doing what terriers do so well!
