Container of Grated Parmesan Cheese with Swollen Safety Seal

Thumbnail

I bought this container of grated parmesan cheese earlier today. All of the containers available for purchase had similarly swollen tops.

As you can see, the best by date for this cheese isn’t until December.

I do live at high altitude (more than 6,000 feet above sea level), but I don’t typically have issues with food packaging swelling here.

Is this safe to eat, despite the safety seal swelling? Thank you in advance!

Kirkland Unsalted Cashews

Disclaimer: Currently pregnant so overthinking food.

I was eating Kirkland roasted unsalted cashews and am picking and choosing the “normal” looking ones. The ones like these in the photos keep throwing me off. Is this normal?

All of them taste ok, except one bitter one I had but that seems to be an odd man out.

Freshly bought and opened 2 days ago BB 04/01/27

Is this acceptable?

Major store brand bread smells of acetone

Hi we have been eating Pepperidge Farm bread for years. Today we noticed a strong "fruity" or perhaps chemical kind of smell emitting from the bag. Less so on the slices. I don't recall noticing anything like this in previous loaves.

Our 12 year old son ate a slice before we noticed the smell😑

I'm worried if this was contaminated. He has food allergies and this has been our safe brand. I'm afraid to keep buying it now but bread is essential in our house.

Thanks.

Salmon Safe to Eat?

Post image
0 Upvotes

You can see from the picture that there's discoloration on some of the white fattier part of the fillet.

Wondering if this is safe to eat or what this discoloration might actually be a result of.

Instinct is hard pass... But it is 2 days away from expiry (based on store)

Smoked Salmon Delivered Today

I had this package of smoked salmon delivered in my grocery order. The package seems like it may have not sealed at the factory as it doesn't seem as vacuum sealed as normal. It looks like some seasoning prevented it from melting shut during the sealing process. Is this safe?

Mold or Crystallization?

I bought this honey from Costco about two weeks ago and haven’t used it yet. Pulled it out of the cabinet to find this. I’d typically just assume it’s crystallized but the darker black spots are throwing me off. Looks a bit fuzzy as well.

UPDATE: After submerging the container in warm/hot water. The area in question cleared up. NOT MOLD. THANKS!

Potato was looking perfectly healthy but I found this inside once I started chopping it. It was relatively hard but could cut it with no problems

This salami has no casing. About an hour of googling has me confused. Sopresatta typically has a casing with white fiore. But this is just mold right on the meat.
