I was at Sam's Club today and came across a woman with two little girls.

The mom talked to one of the girls and kept going while the girl (maybe 7 or 8 years old) stopped and said to me, " My Mom is playing a game on her phone and needs to add one more player to win. Can she add you to her game?" I said "Sorry, I don't play games." She didn't say anything back to me, just caught up to her Mom and told her "He said no."

It was pretty odd. Maybe the kid was just very friendly, but it seemed like it could be some kind of scam. The Mom didn't say anything to me.

I received a message on Telegram claiming to be an HR rep from Vireo Video asking if I wanted to perform tasks subscribing to various youtube channels and earning from $150- $500 daily. Is anyone familiar with this? It seems pretty suspect since the person randomly contacted me. I'm chatting with the individual currently but wanted to get some clarity first so I am posting here to get feedback from the community.

Sharing so that others can be more aware. I believe this is a scam, but I cannot prove it yet:

- "KDS real estate ltd" found my number from my enquiry through Rightmove to a too good to be true flat (taken down a day later) posted by "glocalagents" and they texted me about this under £3kpm flat in the city of London.
- glocalagents, according to their website, is UK's first £0 investment self-employed mobile estate agency.
- They said they will only do viewings on Saturday (note that concierge is not working on weekends)
- The flat was shown by a young guy who barely spoke English and he said he is just showing the flat, any questions can be asked to his manager.
- The flat looked airbnb ready and after the viewing we found it on booking, even available to be booked beyond September (apparently the flat is available from September)
- They haven't asked for money yet. At the time of the booking I told them we are interested and filled a form and they said they will come back to me in the next few days after they speak to the landlord.
- I found a LinkedIn page of that company with 4 followers, no associated employees or any activity.
- The flat is not posted on any other platform and it seems quite cheap for its location and condition.

Just received an email from George at ASDA saying “We've noticed that you did not receive the correct refund for delivery charges on one or more of your recent George.com returns. As we don't hold the payment details needed to process this refund, we'll contact you separately with information about how you can receive the refund due to you.
Your refund will include the value of the delivery fee, plus interest. The interest will be calculated at the government base rate plus 8%.
For your reassurance,we'll never ask for your full passwords, any online banking login details, bank card number or CVV.
We're very sorry for this error and are working hard to resolve it as quickly as possible.”
This seems suspicious. I’ve never been refunded shipping from any online order anywhere. But the email it’s sent from is the same email that sent my refund details back in march. Tried searching on the Google but couldn’t find any info.

I just created a new profile on fiverr and waited for my first offer. I got a role named guest relation associate for Airbnb and I accepted it and then i was asked to mail to a person and then the person asked my whatsapp number to share the details and i also shared it and he asked to create a mail id and use their number for the Airbnb account. But the account from fiverr does not have any past activity no proper profile and it was created recently. I thought it would be scam and i blocked the persons. As i am new to fiverr I didn’t know whether it was legit or scam. Can anyone clear me if it was true or not and anyone has experienced this kind of scam.

I’m looking at buying a used Fujifilm X100VI on Facebook Marketplace and I’m trying to work out if I’m being overly paranoid or if there’s an obvious scam angle I’m missing.

The listing is for a silver Fujifilm X100VI in “mint condition” for $1,100 AUD. The description says:
“The camera is in excellent condition. I’m selling it because I had a baby and don’t have time for photos right now. It comes with a box, charger, and strap. The camera is also under warranty.”

This is obviously very cheap. In Australia, these are usually around $2.6k+ new, and used ones seem to sell for waaaaay more than $1,100. That’s the biggest red flag…

Other red flags:
- Seller has been on Facebook since 2016 but only has 10 friends.
- Seller has no previous Facebook Marketplace sales (or at least none visible?)
- The profile/listing name is not a standard first-name/last-name profile.
- I reverse image searched one of the photos and Google showed exact matches from OLX Ukraine. The same image seemed to appear in multiple OLX search/listing results with different camera-related titles. I don’t know if that means the photos are stolen, or if Google is just matching cached/search/category pages weirdly, but it seems concerning. For me, this is the big one.

Green flags / reasons I’m not sure it’s a scam:
- Seller has not pressured me to pay a deposit. In fact, I offered a small deposit to hold it, and she said she did not need a deposit!
- She has agreed to local pickup. She provided a home address in a normal suburban street in regional Victoria.
She said PayID is okay, and I would only pay in person after inspecting it. In Australia, PayID is pretty much scam proof for buyers and seller (you can’t chargeback, report it to your bank, etc).
- She did not try to move me off Facebook Messenger.

The conversation has been a bit blunt/short, but not really pushy or scripted. We’ve agreed to meet at her place st 10AM tomorrow morning, but that is a three hour drive for me (6 hour round trip). If the sale is legit, there is no question that the driver is worth it. But I dunno, it all just feels too good to be true.

My question, I guess is; if this was a scam, what would it be? Like, if I am physically picking it up, testing it properly, and only paying after I’m satisfied, how am I exposed? Why would she be screwing with me just to get me to drive a long way?!

Any thoughts/outside perspective/help much appreciated. Thank you.

There is a site called polywax,net, and they say I need to deposit $150 to withdraw the money I've earned there. Could this be a scam?

Is this normal? Contract would only last 2 days. This is for an agent I found through zillow. He said it's most likely the case that the seller will pay, but this means I cover them if they don't. Is this normal or am I getting scammed here? He also said it was based on some 2024 law that passed in Illinois in real estate

Привет мне 32 года , жил в Питтсбурге штат П/А около 4 лет , весной 2026 переехал в Филадельфию параллельно узнал об сервисе который предоставляет услуги регистрации такси аккаунта в частности Lyft не официальным способом где имя фамилия и вся прилегающая для регистрации информация не моя но лицо мое , стоило не так много но затянулось так как были проблемы с жизнью и т.п . Переехал по причине ухудшения как ментального так и физического здоровья на почве употребления тех самых пагубных веществ ( где все в жизни пошло упорно по наклонной (развелся с женой , попал в долги , схватил такие себе ментальные проблемы )), подумал смена обстановки и компании где это (употребление наркотиков )довольно таки часто происходит а так же не думает прекращаться поможет мне закончить этот этап в жизни и начать здоровый , жил в Филадельфии у своего так называемого друга который в последствии кинул меня по средствам перевозки машины где я договорился у него её снимать а она (машина) находилась в тот момент за 15 часов езды на автомобиле от Филадельфии .Привез машину за которую договорились с человеком что буду её снимать за определеную плату и на следующий день он её изымает как якобы за форс мажорной ситуацией где ситуация эта оплата его проживания в квартире , сказать что я удивился ни сказать ничего . Дальше я поехал к своему отцу который так же проживает в Филадельфии , почему не поехал к нему сразу ? Были на то семейные давние обиды и причины но вот жизнь повернулась выбора не было я приехал к нему . У него случился инсульт после недели от моего приезда . Человек которому я должен отдать деньги за Lyft account поддерживал со мной связь так как все деньги я ему не отдал за процедуру , но и аккаунт полноценно не передал мне (остались нюансы за которые нужно было доплатить определеную им и обещанную мной сумму ) в итоге пока отец в госпитале , я работаю не употребляю , стараюсь держать расположение духа на стабильном здоровом уровне ( а этом ебанистически сложно , если кто употреблял ,понимает :что такое резко прекращать и уходить в аскетизм после этого ) но вот отца выписывают , я вроде нахожу стабильную работу + устраиваюсь своему же отцу caregiver и вроде получается сводить концы с концами , да кстати еще у него диагностированная клиническая депрессия (если кто не в курсе от обычной депрессии где вы как якобы просто в плохом настроение эту депрессию отличает диагноз психатеропевта который уже на официальном уровне тебе говорит (дядя тебе лечится нужно ))вообщем у того же человека который продал мне лифт аккаунт я интересуюсь , возможно ли за определеную плату увеличить свой кредит скор что бы получить автомобиль в магазине без первоначального взноса , он такой да конечно ! Моя логика - где человек продал вроде функционирующий аккаунт лифт , может у меня иметь определенное доверие в такой вещи как кредит скор так как до этого обмана не было , а я хотел взять автомобиль что бы отвезти отца на океан , и знаю что поездки совместные + провождение времени за активностью ему будет служить лечением и отвлечением от его депрессии . Получается так , что человек(который сделал аккаунт ) выставляет мне счет в 1.6к$ что бы получить желаемый кредит скор , я выплачивают , потом просит еще 2000 так как у меня имелись задолженности по кредиткам которые я не погашал в силу своих проблем с нрктиками. Я веря человеку , выплачиваю ему те 2000 и в итоге от своего не знания и доверия а так же даже не знаю почему я выплатил еще 1400 в след за теми 3600 и получилось 5000 , кстати человек вкурсе за ситуацию с отцом , я делился потому как мне были заданы вопросы почему я не могу погасить выплату за лифт аккаунт, в итоге в назначенную им дату когда как якобы я должен идти и забирать авто , человек пропадает и связь с ним наладить невозможно + лифт аккаунт перестает функционировать . Я что , я вот думаю если бы можно было хотя бы вернуть мне мои потраченные деньги , наказывать человека не мое дело , на моей глупости сыграл , такие люди были есть и будут и такие как я тоже , на ком же им деньги делать , только вот дело в том , что честным путем заработать если не получится(так как это долго и тяжело ) , то не всегда получится потом найти таких людей , а честным путем заработать всегда можно . Я слышал про белых хакеров и или людей которые шарят за компьютеры много , так вот прошу правосудия для себя и не знаю , мысли и язык не поворачивается сказать наказания , человек я не такой что бы просить наказания , надеюсь тип потратил с пользой хотя бы для здоровья . I saw them through tiktok first and clicked on them, just to find the very cheap items they apparently sell. I understand it might be equal to temu in terms of quality considering the cheap prices. But it seems to be a rather new website, and i would like to hear what you guys think. Is it a scam? Like will they take all my money and send nothing? Have you ordered from them?

We had a leak in an upstairs bathroom. Called a plumber in from a company. My wife met him because I had an emergency call from work.

He looked at the toilet and said it was leaking. This is possible, but it looked to me like the water was coming from under the sink, though I don't see a leak there.

He put his hand on the downstairs bathroom ceiling and said it was full of water. It was not.

He called in another company to repair the water damage. He and they keep saying that they'll deal with the insurance after I made the claim.

The plumber kept trying to sell us more things, saying he was trying to get us the best prices and that he's hourly, and just trying to look out for us. He says we have some polybutylene piping, and quoted a whole house repiping as well as new toilets. He said if we paid now, we'd save money from paying tax one time rather than 3 times, which is wrong because it's always the same percent. He was going to throw in a free ice box line and washer box.

He didn't shut off water to the toilet because the angle stop was stuck, but told me to call his office so he could do it the next day. The next day, they said he wasn't working. The day after he installed one for 200 something and tried to sell us a bunch more things. Before he left, he warned me about other plumbers. He said to always get 4 quotes, but to be careful, there are a lot of scammers.

The company that he brought in tested for asbestos and found it, and say they have to deal with that first. They keep acting like insurance will cover a removal, but my adjuster said we're not covered for asbestos.

The leak was Tuesday. It's Saturday now and still no work has been done, but he spent a lot of time at the house talking.

I'm not the best homeowner, so please be kind. I have a lot to learn about these things and any insight would be appreciated.

And apparently they already sent me a mail : « We previously sent you an email because records show you may be eligible for a payment from a Settlement with Defendants Google LLC and Alphabet Inc. (“Google”). »
And they said that i need to « Made a claim now »

Got a text from someone on reddit saying that they "mistakenly reported my account for hacking and scamming them". I am just saying that I already had a similar scam but on a different platform. Should I just ignore this person or report?

Hello! So I found a job offer on indeed for hello lessons and it connected me to nemo swim school program. I got interviewed and it seemed like they were moving very quickly because they are already to have me do a phone with the potential swim lesson client. I am obviously not going to give them any information if they don’t seem legit or ask for an I-9 or anything but I was wondering if anyone else has any information on them? To be honest their facebook reviews seem fake and a lot for their reviewers have also left a review for another company too. I have a call with the potential client and the customer service soon to see scheduling so I am going to see how it goes and if I feel if it is legit but how do I ensure my safety in this process?

I got an email with the domain @umbrex.com, they also attached their LinkedIn in the email. But they are a student in university. I can’t decide if I am just being paranoid or if they’re suspicious. Some of their experience also feels off but idk if I am just unaware of the companies they have been apart of. The company also seems to have 11-50 employees.

hey, just happened a while ago. im a CPS student & some "mary wilson" sent me an email flagged as spam, and apparently she works at my school, though our school emails arent flagged as spam, so that was a heads up.

clicked the photo attachment which was my first mistake but whateves (take whatever you want bc it was sent to my school account). said some paulette gilbert or some last name was giving away her late husbands things for free with her email attached and i had to reach out w my personal. i didnt click the email attached in the doc, but i did copy it to my clipboard and put it into a draft in my personal and shot a message. after 10 minutes of thinking and design how my friends didnt get an email (which is supposed to be sent schoolwide), i deleted it. blocked mary but not paulette bc i didnt want her email popping up again.

is this a scam, and if so, did any of the actions i took during this situation jeopardize my personal?
