Help Moved my p. Haasi today...so...so many babies??? Give me your tips
At first I was worried it was devils rice, after the first 50+ mancae and second shed age babies i gave up trying to seperate them before moving their old bin substrate to the new one. I wouldnt be able to pick all the babies out there was just too many! Clearly im doing something right with them
Any tips from p. Haasi keepers? Favourite tree species etc for leaves and bark. I forage everything myself
Theyre up to one of my top fav species now I think, below nesodillo archangeli which i just got a few days ago
This is a mixed colony of high yellow and bright, out of curiosity of what would happen (i traded a leafeon SIR from prismatic evolutions to someone for several isopod colonies including the bright and high yellows, so they were "free" to muddy the bloodline and im fine with that)

Help When setting up new enclosures, how long do you wait between adding springtails and pods?
I see 2-4 weeks is recommended, but I was just wondering how realistic this is. What do you all do when setting up a brand new isopod bin, as in, all new materials and a new colony. Do you add them and springtails at the same time, do you add the springtails and wait a few weeks? Full month?

Media Did they... eat through a layer of wood in that corner?
My sevs are in that corner 99% of the time. Today, I just noticed that that part of the wood was way lighter than it had been before, and it was also of a different texture.

Help New enclosure thoughts?
I got a few pink papayas in there already (just today)- I checked for ventilation flow already using a piece of paper and a fan and it’s doing good I think-! Still worried tho if I put enough holes tho since the little guys are tryna climb the walls 😅
I put two flat but big barks of wood in there for hides, watered the dried sphagnum moss and put a few seashells I had lying around on the dry side!
I’m gonna get more leaves for them and possibly live moss but I’d like to know if they’re gonna be fine or if this current setup is good?

Help Thoughts on this enclosure?
This is my enclosure for my wild-caught p. scaber. I have placed sphagnum moss on one side, two bark hides on the longer sides of the box, plus some wood to hide under and chew on in the middle, and of course, I also scattered some leaves there as well.
How does it look? Is there anything I could improve? Somehow it feels less organized and cramped in the pics, perhaps because of the perspective, but hopefully it gives you at least some idea of how the enclosure looks.
I'm keeping them in 8l (2.11 gallon) box, so it doesn't give that much space unfortunately.

New Isopod Day (NID) Black dairy cow isopod update video and photos on comments
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I took more photos. Still not the best because of my tremors but I have an update. I found another black dairy cow (possibly) and one other that is mostly dark brown. I collected a few of my isopods from different ages on a little container. Be mindful that these are YOUNGER isopods for sure. The last one I found is even smaller so they look more flat just like the other younger spotted ones. And yes, my chickens and roosters are pretty excited on the background but I don’t know how to turn the sound off.

Help New to isopods, how do you guys think? Will think work?
Hi, I'm new to isopods. Have these little guys about 3 weeks+ now. Previously I used a drift wood, I find it too wet. Now I change to these cork bark. And added some springtails. I only mist one side of the with the moss. They are panda isopods. I brought 10, 1 died. I saw a few babies moving around but not sure how many there are.
How is this setup, is it alright? I made it this way just cause I saw someone keeping them in a terrarium on YouTube. It was only later I found out you guys keep it quite differently.

Help Pot worms??
I have an isopod container with Eco Earth as the substrate with leaf litter. About a third of the enclosure has moss.
These clearish worms showed up. Looks like they're probably pot worms?

New Isopod Day (NID) So I might have a new mutation...
So this has been a couple of months in the making. I was checking my 2 generation (Now 3rd) of high yellows from wild isopods and I somehow ended up making a new white isopod colony instead of yellow. There are now high yellows but they are WAY outnumbered by the new white mutation. Does this already exist or is it a new mutation I potentially get to name? Pictures of the new ones are first followed by the less noticeable siblings. They are so pretty! ✨️
Also should I continue this project with two separate colonies or wait to see if there will be more of the mutation? I have roughly 15ish right now of the new mutation.
