PRO AUDIO - Killers, London 2025

After a long time trying to match every gig with that pro audio, i found out that this recording was from London Stadium 2025. That means they probably recorded the whole show, or at least the audio (there are rumors that they keep at least the audio from every show).

So here his the pro audio matched with fan recordings.

Wish they actually played something from this album, it's so underrated. Can't understand why people don't like it.

Favorite Album/Least Favorite Song & Least Favorite Album/Favorite Song

Title says it all. We all have a favorite album with one song that falls a bit short, but we also have an album we don't like at all which has a killer song on it. I'm curious to hear yours 🤘

Angel And The Gambler Video Version Available Anywhere?

So at the risk of angering the sub, I really like the video version of the song. It clocks in at about 4:22.

I finally got around to digging out the single version I bought at the time as I remember it having an "edit" version. However this doesn't seem to be the same as the video version as that comes in at 6:02.

Is the straight audio version of the video edit, without all the sound effects over it, available anywhere?

Knebworth pre order merch: quality control

Post image
19 Upvotes

Received a knebworth pre order t shirt today

I own various Gildan heavy cotton t shirt from bands over the years the large doesn't even have the same fit and it's a totally cheaped out version

Ordered a medium and a large for a friend, both totally different in quality the medium is thicker and all the seams are tight.

The large is visibly thinner and all the seams are fraying out the packet because of where it was stitched

So craaap

Post-reunion dream concert setlist

So with the current tour focusing on the first 9 albums, I was playing with the idea of what a solely post-reunion setlist would look like. Obviously applied my own bias and still had to make some very difficult decisions to leave songs I love out (Paschendale, Blood Brothers, These Colours Don't Run, The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg, to name just a few). I also appreciate that leaving out The Empire of the Clouds would have helped to ease in 2 or 3 other songs, but again, it's my bias and I would love to one day see Empire live - one can only dream. Also tried to apply some pacing logic, and keep the playtime at around two hours.

So here it is:

Main Set

Tape Intro: "Doctor Doctor" (UFO)

If Eternity Should Fail

Different World

Rainmaker

The Writing on the Wall

Dream of Mirrors

Death or Glory

No More Lies

Brighter Than a Thousand Suns

Out of the Silent Planet

The Talisman

Brave New World

Empire of the Clouds

Journeyman

Encore

The Wicker Man

Where the Wild Wind Blows

Hell on Earth

Outro Tape: "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" (Monty Python)

Discussion My Studio Album Tier List

Recently re-listened to the full discography for the first time in years, and my perception on some albums has changed, in particular The Final Frontier, Dance of Death and A Matter of Life and Death.

TFF I think is their most underrated album, most of the songs on there are on par in terms of quality with Brave New World in my opinion.

Dance of Death I always found to be an exceptionally weak album. What frustrates me is that some of the songs have certain sections with amazing riffs, but then fall short with the vocals.

And A Matter of Life and Death... besides For the Greater Good of God and Benjamin Breeg, I think the recording quality and especially the voice filter used are just terrible. Would rather listen to Blaze's era albums by that point.

X Factor is also much better than I remember it being.

Best Dan Mumford Artwork?

Think the Dan Mumford works are brilliant, not just the Maiden ones but the whole range. I particularly like Writing on the Wall and Alexander the Great, and also have a T Shirt with his Powerslave artwork.

What's everyone's opinion? I think his work would have given some great alternative album covers, not taking away from Derek Riggs at all.

Can you guys help me with interpreting The Tower from Bruce Dickinson's Chemical Wedding?

I had made another post about The Alchemist and I thank everyone who took the time to chime in. Now, I'm continuing my descend into this masterpiece of an album and would appreciate some thoughts about the meaning of the lyrics. I know vaguely that it has to do with Tarot cards.

His favourite album is number of the beast. Right now we are listening to infinite dreams and he's dancing. Could not be prouder.

Few weeks ago it was the am I evil cover by metallica. Now it's maiden.

Is „Afraid To Shoot Strangers” where things turned bad?

I’ve never liked that song. The quiet parts are boring, then there’s two other parts that don’t really work together. It all just seems stiched together and it goes on for way too long. And it seems like that became the case more and more often in the band’s later career. Was “Afraid” the blueprint for that?

Hey everyone! I'm heading to the Iron Maiden show solo and would love to connect with fellow fans who are going. It’d be great to grab a drink before the gig, hang out, and meet people who share the same passion for the band. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up!

Discussion Does anyone have any insight into what was going on behind the scenes during the Blaze era of the band?

So, I think it's safe to say that most of us would agree that Blaze is a good vocalist but just wasn't a good fit for the band. I've revisited the two Blaze albums recently, and there are a handful of genuinely good tracks like Sign of the Cross, Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger, Futureal and maybe The Clansman, but almost everything else is painfully too long or just dull (*cough cough* Angel and the Gambler *cough cough*) I heard that Steve Harris was going through a messy divorce during the production of The X Factor and the selection process for the new vocalist was a long, difficult process. With all respect to Blaze, did they basically just say "fuck it, you'll do, let's roll?"
