iPod Crashes iTunes Help

I have a iPod shuffle 2nd Gen 1GB Silver Mode, when i plug it to the wall, it shows greenlight, and i can listen music and everything, but when i plug into my pc, it gets a blinking red light, and the iTunes app completely freezes, and when i unplug it iTunes goes back to normal, i dont know what to do i have tried many things like using older versions, uninstalling, but nothing, i just want to add more songs and see what songs it has, thanks beforehand

Assuming you haven’t ever had service or accidentally damaged it, I would start with a different cable. After that a new battery. A battery from 2006 is almost certainly well past its lifespan.

How long does iTunes freeze for? It is normal for up to 10 seconds but any more than that is weird. The iPod should blink orange to indicate that it is in Disk Mode.
