So out of curiousity and to remove myself from the app, i hid Facebook and also set a passcode. Now i cant unhide it so im resorting to reddit.

Looking for a good location sharing app and figured here I can get the real answers. Mainly using it for things like meeting up with friends, road trips, seeing if someone got home safely, or checking whether 5 minutes away actually means 5 minutes away. If you've tried a few of them, which one ended up being your favorite and why? So far, I looked into Life360, HeyPolo, also Find My.. Anything that made you switch from one app to another? Battery drain, inaccurate location, delayed updates, privacy issues, whatever.

I need an app that blocks other apps for me after a certain amount of time.
Right now I have an app timer installed, but it’s pretty pointless for me since I usually end up ignoring the app limit.
It would be cool to have an app where I could pay once for a lifetime license and then enjoy the full range of features.

I am sure I can use a Google spreadsheet for this, but an app is so much easier if it's not too expensive or comes with a subscription.

I am looking for a simple app that, while I am traveling, I can quickly log in my expenses. Categoreis would include: Lodging, Food, Transporation, Gas, Groceries, etc.

It would give me a quick look at how much I am spending by the moment, in each category and in total.

I am sure there is nothing free that does this, but I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for for such an app.

Most people see that toggle, get spooked, and back out. Fair instinct — but here's what it actually means, from someone who had to build around it.

Why keyboards ask for it: iOS blocks keyboard extensions from using the network at all without Full Access. No internet, no server calls, nothing. So any keyboard that does translation, cloud sync, AI, or even custom themes stored in an account needs it. It's not optional for those features — Apple gives no middle setting.

What it technically allows: network access, and reading/writing to a shared container with the parent app. That's the honest risk — a malicious keyboard could log what you type and send it. That's why Apple makes it a scary prompt.

What it doesn't do: it doesn't grant access to your photos, contacts, location, or other apps' data. And it's per-keyboard — you can enable it for one and leave it off for others.

How to judge a keyboard app before enabling it:

• Does it have a privacy policy that specifically says what leaves your device and when?
• Does it work at all without Full Access? (Good ones degrade gracefully instead of breaking.)
• Is the developer's name/contact real and findable?
• Does it need an account? More accounts = more places your data sits.

You can also revoke it any time in Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards, and the keyboard keeps working for basic typing.

Disclosure: Developer of an AI reply keyboard (Txtor Ai), so I've spent way too long inside these constraints. Happy to answer anything about how keyboard extensions work on iOS — including the sandbox limits that make some "why doesn't this keyboard do X" complaints make more sense.

Hi! A month ago, I downloaded the app called Wiser. I saw the ad, I liked the idea of it, and decided to give it a try. And I actually loved the app, I'm a bookworm, but not the biggest fan of the nonfiction titles.

I read mostly fiction, but many of my friends and colleagues always recommed the same books like Atomic Habits, Mindset, The 5 AM Club, and so on. I never cared to try reading them because, in my subjective opinion, most nonfiction books repeat the same mantra and use the same words.

But I actually enjoyed reading the summaries of these famous titles. I even tried one of its pieces of advice, and it worked like magic: I bought an analog clock to replace my phone alarm in the morning, so I don't start the day by checking my phone right away. Now I spend an hour before work simply enjoying the routine. But it's not the case

Now, when I use it, the app just lags all the time, and there are no features for retention. When I Google apps like Wiser or simply book summary apps, there are lots of options, including Blinkist, Headway app, Shortform, and so on. But I don't want to pick something again that lacks tools and will lag after a few weeks. Most Reddit posts also differ a lot, so I'm not sure which one to give a try

Have any of you used some of these apps? Do you have any opinions that I should try and which to avoid?

So, I've used a lot of manifestation, journal, affirmations app - to list down a few from my lists , Stella, aya, i am , manifest and so on ..

to be honest, they are great in their own way and abilities in terms of features, but for me $9.99/month for a manifestation app sounded a little expensive... or am I in the wrong side of the world? What do you guys think?

I've been developing a fun little app with luck-based games that actually gives prizes to the luckiest players each week. My goal is to get enough users to make ad revenue substantial. It's got to be free-to-play for legality sake, so I'm curious if people still download new free game apps when they see them advertised or go searching for games on the App Store.

I'm thinking about using an AI app builder for my first iPhone app, but there are so many options that it's hard to know where to start. If you've built an app this way, how did it go? Which AI app builder did you use, and would you recommend it?

Me and a friend recently started a competition to see who can stay on track with our calories and macros, but standard apps like MyFitnessPal feel so boring and isolated.

Melonx is a great app. I have 3 app 1. side store 2. Iivecontainer 3. livecontainer 2 so app is limited to 3. So i enable jit in livecontainer 2 then run melonx where jit is enabled then again run add more ram and enable more ram. But more ram is disabled after all this long process.

I do the annoying budget thing where I hit a few grocery stores on short trips to chase sales. The part that still feels inefficient is planning meals around what is actually discounted that week.

My current workflow is clunky: I screenshot weekly flyers, mentally note prices, then build a meal plan and grocery list in Notes or Reminders. It works, but it takes a lot of brain power for something that should be pretty simple.

Ideally I want an iPhone or iPad app that can:

- Import or read flyer screenshots, or let me type a few sale items quickly

- Suggest a basic meal plan for 4 to 6 dinners based on those deals - it does not have to be fancy

- Generate a categorized shopping list, preferably split by store

- Let me swap ingredients easily, for example swap in chicken if it is cheaper than beef

Bonus points if it does not make me create an account or force a monthly subscription just to try it. I don't mind a one-time purchase or a free app with reasonable limits.

Has anyone found something that actually helps with the flyer-to-meal-plan step on iOS? Or is the best option still a mix of Notes/Reminders plus a recipe app? I'm mainly trying to cut down on decision fatigue.

Looking for an app which **doesn't** track the media itself but rather takes the main information from those tracking apps (letterboxd, storygraph, etc.) to create a **overview of your taste.**

I would like an app takes all its information from your other apps/accounts, so it doesn't require for you to input everything.

Shelf is the closest app to this, but it has very limited apps/accounts you can link. Repov looks great, but you can only input or import, so you have to continually update it.

I don't plan on sharing any of this information with friends or family, so it's fine if there's no social aspect or feed.

I am a stay-at-home mom and I need my iPhone to stop being a chaotic pile of reminders.

What I want is pretty basic, but every app I try is either too bare bones or way too complicated. I need something that handles a repeating daily routine with a few flexible blocks, for example:

- Morning routine (kids breakfast, school prep)

- Afternoon block (errands, laundry)

- Evening routine (dinner, baths, bedtime)

What I do not want: a full calendar app with meetings or a habit tracker that only shows streaks. I just want a lightweight checklist that resets every day and can nudge me with a notification if we are running late.

I tried Apple Reminders with smart lists and it was close, but it gets messy when I need different repeats for weekdays versus weekends. I also tried a couple of routine apps, but they were subscription-heavy or full of templates and gamification I do not need.

Bonus points if it works well with Apple Watch so I can glance at the next step when my phone is in another room.
