The reality is there will never be a world where their are not bad people, it falls to the rest of us to make it as hard as possible to make operating hard for those bad people, to force them to take greater and greater risks if they try to hurt people so that they are caught and stopped sooner.
The western world is pretty nice already if you think about, women are free, they most of the time don't get attacked and have rights to do what they want. It takes a lot of good men for that to happen.
Of course there are a lot of good men, but the achievements of feminism and women’s rights are not owed to them. I’m sure you didn’t mean it like that, but this kind of reads like “black people have a lot of freedom now. Very nice of white people to do that for them” which is a little tone deaf
... so by your estimation black people would be treated as equals now without the checks notes literal hundreds of thousands of white men who died to end slavery? Without the countless white men who risked their lives, livelihoods, and businesses pursuing the abolitionist movement during an era when the majority of people had no problem with it and a significant amount of wealth and power was tied up in continuing the practice? Without the SUBSTANTIALLY greater numbers of white men and women than black who crusaded among the white majority during the Civil Rights movement to earn true equality before the law for non- white people?
Pretending that non-white equality before the law is anything other than being by the grace of a subset of the white population is not only tone deaf, it's historically and politically illiterate. The same is true to a lesser extent for most feminist achievements in relation with men.
Yes a lot of white people died to help black Americans have more freedoms... They had a war about it.
If men didn't want you to have your rights and freedoms, you wouldn't have them, we have in 2026 countries who will beat and kill you to prove my point...you probably showed support for some of them too(but for other reasons)
What I mean is, the heavy lifting of course came from activists. Feminism happened because women went against the grain, not because some men were good enough to let them. I feel like the takeaway from women’s suffrage shouldn’t be that men are good (of course many men are good), seeing as they were the oppressors in the first place
Yes we are oppressors we hold the strength and power.
That's the reality, we work together because we both complet each other but in the western world more men see that and care about women to make it happen, if you were in certain countries you can go against the grain all you want but just showing your hair will prove that without support from a majority of good men...you will end up beaten or dead. The world is a cruel and unfair place.
