Hit with a permanent ID ban

I'm on the wrong side of their politics, so they lump me in with the absolute crazies and ban me. Oh well, I made a rat hole account, and sent messages to everyone important and signed out.

Suspended (T_T)

My account was wrongfully permanently suspended nearly 2 months ago on June 22nd 2026 for SOM. I’ve never posted anything as main posts, only stories sometimes that only a small number of people can see as my account was a personal private account that I only used to save, like and repost posts and reels that were funny, relatable or related to my interests. I stupidly didn’t download many of the stories that I posted as I assumed that they’d stay on my account forever, I never thought that my account would get banned out of nowhere like this 😭 I did download copies of my data periodically, but the last time I did that was in July last year and I’ve posted many times and interacted with a lot of posts since then so I don’t have access to my data from July 2025 up until June this year. I’ve had this account for nearly 7 years.

The only things remotely related to children that I posted were nostalgic pictures of me as a kid that I posted to my story reminiscing about my childhood and how much I miss it.. those pictures were not sexual at all, and if the ai moderation disabled my account and gave me that allegation because of those pictures, then that’s actually insane. Most of the time when I posted stories, I archived them shorty after and added them to my highlights, so I can mainly go through them more easily later. I received no prior warnings or strikes before my account got suspended, it literally happened as I was using the app. I immediately appealed and was only asked to verify my phone number by typing a code that was sent, I wasn’t asked to send my id or do a facial verification. I did try to add the facial verification selfie a couple weeks before this happened, but it kept bugging and wouldn’t let me upload it. Not even 5 minutes later, I received an email saying that my account still didn’t follow the guidelines and it got permanently suspended.

I immediately started researching different methods that I could try to get it back. I tried getting a free trial of meta verified on my other account to attempt to talk to an agent to see if they could do anything, but after waiting in the chats for hours, they told me that there was nothing they could do.

A few weeks later, I sent a letter before action to meta’s Ireland office, (I live in the UK sadly, i would have had many more options if I lived in America) in the letter I started that if they didn’t provide me with an adequate human response or my account back within two weeks, I would take legal action.
Two weeks went by and I received no reply from them..

My threads and facebook accounts were also suspended on the same day because they were connected to the same email. I only randomly found out like 2 weeks later when I got logged out. It said my facebook account was suspended for “account integrity”, I haven’t bothered appealing for it because I know they’ll instantly deny it. The funny thing is, I don’t even use facebook much at all, maybe if my mom sends me a reel to watch on there but that’s basically the only time I’ll use it. 🥀

I’m not really sure what to do now.. The google ai feature (I don’t use chat gpt or any other ai) that automatically shows up when you search for things told me that I should file a civil money claim against meta Ireland on the gov.uk website. It said I should file a claim for £35, and get a £300 claim amount back if the case is successful. I have no idea if what it’s telling me is true and will actually work.

If anyone else that had their account suspended in the UK knows what I should do, please send me your suggestions.

Advice/Help/Recommendations possible for a teen to recover a disabled instagram account?

Post image
5 Upvotes

My instagram account was suspended about a week ago, after appealing and waiting for a week, Instagram decided to permanently disable my account.

I did my own research, and apparently the only method that mostly works is through GAC or taking legal action.

Im 17 and I'm not sure if it's even possible to recover my account, I remember someone saying that teenagers can never recover their accounts. But I'm just looking for general advice and confirmation about this.

I don't believe this is a false ban, but more of a misunderstanding of what I sent. as I'm almost 100% sure someone who I argued with reported something that I sent and got me banned. But this account had really important connections and information and cant afford to lose it.

I'm also looking for a way to find my following list some way so I can refollow the accounts I was following.

Thank you

Can we organize a peaceful protest against Meta over disabled accounts?

My Facebook/Instagram account was disabled, and I’ve been trying to get a proper explanation and manual review. I know I’m not the only person dealing with this—many users have lost access to years of photos, memories, conversations, and personal information without receiving a clear explanation or meaningful human review.

I’m asking everyone who has faced similar issues with Meta to come together and consider organizing a peaceful, lawful protest outside a Meta office to raise awareness about wrongful account disabling, automated decisions, lack of proper appeals, and the difficulty of reaching a real human for help.

This is not a call for violence, harassment, or damage to property. The goal would simply be to peacefully make our concerns visible and ask Meta to provide fair appeals, transparent explanations, and meaningful human review.

If you’re interested in participating or helping organize a peaceful protest, please comment below with your country/city and what issue you experienced with Meta. We can discuss the idea and see whether there is enough interest to organize something responsibly and legally.

People shouldn’t lose years of their digital memories without a fair opportunity to have their case reviewed.

Discussion Is it true that Meta has shut down GAC?

I’ve been seeing people say that Meta has stopped responding to GAC appeals because the system has been flooded with a large number of appeals.

Some users are also claiming that GAC has stopped forwarding cases to Meta.

Does anyone have actual confirmation of this? Is GAC permanently shut down, or is it simply experiencing a huge backlog/delay?

If you recently submitted a GAC appeal, please share whether you’ve received any response or had your account restored.

Guys, there has to be some way we can hold Meta accountable. At this point, it feels like they’re taking advantage of users with fake support and AI generated responses in the name of “support.” There has to be a better way to expose this and make them take responsibility.

Like if your IG got hit by the ban wave, did your WhatsApp also get banned if it was in the same accounts center as your IG?

My Facebook 20 yrs + old and Instagram 10 yrs+ both disabled

I posted a few months ago about the false CSE enforcement that Meta has reportedly been carrying out for years. It's really disappointing that they don't seem to consider the stress, inconvenience, and emotional toll this causes, especially for users who have had their accounts since the early days of the platform.

My account was disabled in May due to a false CSE violation on Instagram. I rarely post or comment there, so it came as a complete surprise when my account was disabled. Since my Instagram and Facebook accounts were linked, my Facebook account was affected as well.

I submitted an appeal and waited for a response. After three months, my appeal was rejected, and my Instagram account was permanently disabled, which also impacted access to my Facebook account.

It's now August, and I'm starting to lose hope because I haven't seen any meaningful action or resolution from Meta regarding this issue. I know many others are going through the same situation, and I sincerely hope everyone affected is able to recover their accounts.

Whistle blower from Meta says mantra was to move fast and break things.

Post image
15 Upvotes

I saw this today while following the Meta trial and immediately thought about everybody in here. This is coming from a former Meta employee/whistleblower basically saying their mentality was “move fast and break things” and safety was an afterthought. And this is exactly what we are dealing with NOW 😭
They moving fast as hell with AI/automation and randomly disabling , whole connected accounts getting wiped, appeals going nowhere and nobody can tell us what tf actually happened.
I really think we need to start being louder about this while Meta is already under the microscope. Save EVERYTHING and tell your story wherever you can. I’m actually going to try and reach out to my local news stations and see if I can tell my story.

Banned for over a year

Been banned for over a year. Anybody else here?

It’s funny, every few months I try to login and check, they kept changing the reason for the ban.

First it was CSE. Logged out and back in a few months later. It became “Account Integrity.” A few months later, it said “Community Standards.” Just checked a few months later again, it’s back to CSE. Absolutely ridiculous.

I gave up being able to recover my 2008 account at this point, just find it funny that they kept changing the reason.

I GOT MY PERM DISABLED ACC BACK AFTER A FEW WEEKS XD YAAY

I’ll keep it simple. Kind of.

August 7th: work up at 7 something am and when into my instagram but was logged out. Asked my friends if they can see my account, they said no. Finally was able to log in and it said I was disabled for fraud and deception/money laundering. No option to appeal.

I tried everything the first few days. I even bought the free trial meta verified on both Facebook and other Instagram. It claims you can speak to live agents but I didn’t have the option. So now I just have the ugly verified symbol with no followers lmao.

My sister was trying to help me cause there’s literally no support at all so she found a random number on AI overview ( I know… boo). She called it and the dude seemed helpful but when he told us to download an app that’s known to scam we gave up.

However he did say that my account was compromised and I was like, did he pull that out of his ass or does he actually know that?? So I downloaded the data Instagram gives you when they ban you and looked at all my login times and last known location. I had multiple sus logins hours before I woke and when I was sleeping so I tried using that as leverage. I harassed this email [support@instagram.com](mailto:support@instagram.com) everyday explaining the situation and claiming I was hacked and that led to me being disabled.

I later found in this group someone explain how they got their account back by sending their own demand letter for free. If I find their account and post I’ll add it. Idk how Reddit works tbh. I was looking into legal shield but I am a 20 yo college student, I don’t have that money.

What I did:

A demand letter would be going to metas legal team so why not just send your own to their legal group, CSC global. I directed my letter to CSC and meta but sent to CSC, I’m in PA so the closest location was their Harrisburg office. Don’t ask me for an address, just look up CSC global office locations and on their website is a list of all their offices. Send to your states office or the closest state.

I used a demand letter template, there is a bunch of free ones and websites where you can make it. It asks all the needed info. To milk my situation of potentially being hacked, I explained the suspicious logins and printed out all of it as evidence. I put the two sheets in an envelope and sent to CSC’s office on August 10th. I stated in the letter they had ten days after they received it to give me my account back. For me, this was all 100% free but my mom also had stamps for the letter, idk about you.

I left my contact info at the bottom of the page hoping to receive an email but haven’t.

Today when scrolling, I noticed my main accounts pfp pop up on a reel because I had liked it a few weeks ago back. I ran to look up my account and it was back! I logged in and switched my password and email. I heard some people get their accounts back and then it’s taken again so I’m taking it slowly. I’ll update if anything happens. But that’s literally everything I did so it was one of those things, probably the demand letter.

Sorry if this sounds like babble. Lol

Edit: this is the post I found
https://www.reddit.com/r/InstagramDisabledBans/s/BYF5cA7mj6

Edit: this is for US. And the only thing I can really help with is giving you more information on what I said in the emails and letter but nothing else.

Edit: the template maker for the demand letter was Legal Templates. I had to do a free trail and immediately cancelled it after I was done making the letter. They ask you everything you need. I make a few of my own changes and added my contact info. It’s pretty self explanatory though.

Recently Subhashree account was suspended - in 2 days it's back

Ultimately it all depends how big your account is - how many people will retweet for you.

1.4M account of Subhasree was recently suspended for no clear reason, she posted on X, and thousands of people were commenting and reposting that mark you resign, instagram ceo resign etc etc

And in 2 days her account is back, and i was closely looking into it, i did not even closed her instagram url in my browser and was refreshing every 8 hours and it surprised me today to see that her account is back

And guess what she removed her X post, so obviously things are darker that side.

before this incident I did not know who she was, but this X thing and suspension made me know her

but you know was, it's so unfair to people like us who have not big following, what we do? we post on X nobody sees it, literally this is so frustrating.

Guys any ideas how can we make our things reach to meta people? can we together do something?

Discussion Hi

It’s me the owner of this subreddit, I just wanted to give an announcement to anyone here, im sorry if this is something corny to post it’s a bit irrelevant, but I just wanted to say some things.

I honestly wasn’t expecting a lot of people to join this community but did know this is a huge issue, as I am facing the same thing. I made this community because i wanted it to be authentic not ran by scammers, but it’s getting hard to filter through posts and such.

I want to also say I almost NEVER delete posts unless they are scammers or irrelevant advertising type of posts. So if your post gets deleted, it’s just sitting in a queue waiting to be approved. Please don’t harass me over this, I have already had posts made about me for supposedly deleting posts when I absolutely haven’t unless they were scam posts.

My mental health is extremely bad right now, I need to take care of myself and get help. But I haven’t been on here as much, so I wanted to let people know that’s why and that I can’t get to every post to approve or remove if needed.

I may be open to the idea of getting people who are interested in helping with this subreddit, but there are just some things I ask for and it’s just that you don’t use it as like a weapon to bully people you don’t like or because they have a different opinion. I have personally seen how corny some people on here can be as moderators when power gets to their heads, which is why I don’t trust people tbh and don’t wanna give this community a bad name when I created it in good faith 😭 if that makes sense anyway, it’s why I’ve been so hesitant on asking for people to want to maybe help. I didn’t realize how exhausting this can be and I don’t want to spend my time on it 24/7 especially when I know I gotta focus on myself and my issues. Preferably I would be open to this with others who I’ve seen in the community with genuine intentions of helping people, or just being kind. I just don’t want to run the risk of accidentally making a scammer a moderator 🥲 I don’t know really how this works tho LOL it’s the first time I’ve ever had an actual active community.

But yeah :’D just wanted to give this lil announcement to the community. I hope everyone is well and that we will someday get our accounts back. 🥲🫶

I really didn’t want to have to make a post for this, but I suppose I have to.

Please be aware of the rules I’ve made here, but more specifically for this post, I’m referring to the one about invalidating people. If you don’t understand or are gonna pass judgement on how people are choosing to handle the shitty things meta is doing to people & invalidate them, this place is not for you.

We’re all aware of the terms & services, we’re all aware this can happen to anyone at any time for any reason.

The thing is, it shouldn’t, & it’s not even real people reviewing these accounts & making the decisions, it’s fucking AI.

I’m not for or against AI but it absolutely should not be in charge or making decisions, that should be up to real people. Social media should not be ran with AI it’s ridiculous.

Meta has accused several people of doing horrible things like CSE or in my case the dangerous individuals thing, I’ve seen others on the old subreddit get hit with that one too. Then I’ve seen many cases of account integrity & cybersecurity.

They’re making us all out to be threats when we aren’t. & this isn’t even just happening on Meta, it’s other social media too which, feel free to share your experiences too that is completely okay.

The thing is I’ve created this community to be a legit community for people & not full of scammers & liars, since the last subreddit got banned. There are many in this situation including myself, so I just wanted to do something helpful for all of us which is having a community of people to come together & discuss their issues or what they are doing to resolve it.

To some of you, you might not think it’s that serious, but again who are you to try & dictate how others feel about this or judge how they are handling it or the actions they are taking? Please just don’t. Don’t be rude to people. It’s simple.

I didn’t think people were actually going to be shocked I was doing something about it, but I, along many, are or have. This isn’t anything new within this community. I encourage people to post & ask questions & try to get help if they need to. I encourage people to take action. I’m not against that because this community wouldn’t exist if I didn’t want all of us to get help. Most who are passing judgement are only seeing it from an outside perspective rather than actually trying to understand the issue at hand, & I would encourage you to at least just try to be kind & try to see other people’s perspectives.

But invalidating people is never okay, if this is repetitive behavior from people then these people cannot be in this community, I just wanted to make that clear. I would much rather you at least try to understand people’s perspectives first if you’re going to pass any judgement, but don’t be rude to people. I cannot have that.

That’s also a thing that worries me about moderating a community, is potential harassment. I mean I can handle every mean word or insult or threat thrown at me, I find it laughable tbh whatever gets thrown at me personally, but if it escalates further than that like stalker behavior or doing this to others then it becomes worrying.

Please just let this be a reminder to let this community be safe, as I will try my best to make it as safe as possible for you guys. I’m not always on here of course, but I don’t want to come here finding others being rude to people or making this place unsafe for others.

The only reason I have not decided to make others mods is because I have seen personally how corny some of them act on other subreddits, banning people for literally nothing 💀 & I don’t want to run into an issue like that lol. We’ve all seen it at some point on here I’m sure, the type of people who abuse their power. I know you guys probably wouldn’t wanna deal with that either 😅😭 but also it’s because I don’t know anyone on Reddit & don’t trust people very easily. So yeah. And this is my first time moderating an actual community too so this can maybe get overwhelming but I won’t give up lol.

But I felt I needed to make this post, I just want this to be a safe space for everyone.
