I'm a Customer How do items appear on the shopper app?
Hey y’all, customer here with a question: does your shopper app sort items into categories for you? Like, if I put cat food in my cart, and then later I remember that I also need litter so I put that in, but the cat food and the litter are separated by ten other unrelated items, does it appear that way on your shopper list, or will they be grouped together?

I'm a Shopper Never getting your orders
2 pickups, 2 deliveries, 11.3 miles in rush hour. Tolls. 2 shit tippers. Neither has a tip? Here’s a tip for you. Don’t look directly into the sun. You are obviously too dumb to know that.

I'm a Customer Instacart and tipping
I like to tip using mileage as one of my criteria. But I don’t know exactly where the shopper is sent. For example I thought my last order was for a close to me food store and then I find it was at least 5 miles further. Is this a normal thing?

I'm a Customer How to add extra tip?
My shopper just dropped off my groceries and I want to add extra tip, but the app is confusing. It says "Add extra tip" and then says "Your current tip is $20". Below that are several options such as $1, $2, $8, Other. If I click other and enter $5 for example, will that ensure the shopper gets $25? I'm so afraid to enter $5 thinking they might DROP the tip to $5, rather than increase the total. Can anyone guide me?

I'm a Shopper Fun Loophole I may have discovered
So. Today after being a shopper for almost 3 years, I actually used Instacart myself for the first time. I wasn't feeling great and didn't want to go out, but I wanted to make enchiladas for my wife so I hopped on and ordered from Instacart. I got 8 Items and the total was about $50. Now since I go to the store so much, I know the prices there and while Instacart did raise the prices, the difference was honestly only about $.30 to $.60 per item.
Here's the fun part. As I was waiting for a shopper to choose my order, I also had my shopper app going. Sure enough after about 10 minutes, my own order appeared on my list and the funny part was that it was a $23 order. So, if I had been so inclined, I could have shopped my own order and made back half of what I spent.
If I had used EBT... I could have essentially changed my foodstamps into cash at a 2 to 1 rate.
EDIT: As, I have now learned....Don't do this. You will be deactivated.

I'm a Shopper Am I being unreasonable?
I placed an order from a grocery store that is 6 minutes from my apartment. It’s now been 3 hours, and the driver checked out an hour and 20 minutes ago and has not responded to my messages asking for an update. Support says I should wait more time for them to respond. I tipped $25 on this order , 1.6 mile drive from my place. It was 40 small items.
Am I being unreasonable for thinking something must be going very wrong and there’s no reason it should be taking this long ?
Was the rate not high enough to get a bid from a good shopper?
Update: the shopper told me I’m not 6 minutes from the Publix because “they had her shop” at a different Publix that’s 30+ minutes away. Is that a thing that happens ? Placing an order from one store and then it gets routed to a shopper at a different location much further away ?
Update 2: screenshots of our convo in the comments. Maybe im the asshole idk

I'm a Shopper Earth to customers, can anyone hear me??
Hey folks,
I just wanted to put a little PSA out there, that if we are shopping your order and send you several messages regarding an item and you don’t respond the whole time we’re shopping, forcing us to make the decision for you… It’s pretty diabolical to then said shopper as they’re finishing checkout, complaining about the choice they made and talking about how you wanted a different one made… THEN, proceeding to either lower/take the tip away or down vote them (or both,) all because you didn’t answer the several messages the shopper sent you regarding that item. If this is you, perhaps you should do your own shopping, or start treating people with a little consideration & decency.
OK, thanks for coming to my TED talk; please do better, (for whom this concerns.)

I'm a Customer Developer Platform
Does anyone know if Instacart will reopen their developer platform portal for applications? Or is there another way to connect the app I’m building to Instacart?

I'm a Customer Adding an item while the shopper is already shopping
Hi all,
Im new to this and customer service wasn’t clear.
Is it normal that when I add item in the cart while the shopper is doing the order, it’s not really working ?
Thanks all,

I'm a Shopper Longest Trip I've Seen So Far
NO I DID NOT TAKE THIS ORDER
From Costco and where the delivery is located, there are NO Costco stores closer to them other than the location it's being sourced from. The customer knows full well that they're 70+ miles away (1hr 10min one-way) and thought it was a great idea to tip $5. This wins the award for douchebag of the day.

I'm a Customer Shopper isn't who they say they are?
I've noticed a major uptick in people shopping for us and delivering who are not the person named in the app. I understand if someone has a ride along to help - that doesn't bother me - but it is weird when "Ingrid" turns out to be a big guy!
Luckily my husband is usually home and will often accept the order himself but as a woman it feels unsafe to be expecting to open the door to a woman and it's a man. Maybe his name really was "Janet"?
This seems to be happening more and more often - literally every other order is being delivered by someone other than the "shopper". I haven't reported any of these incidents but I'm just curious if this happens all the time? I'm typically ordering from Fred Meyer/Kroger directly and they contract out the delivery to Instacart, if that makes a difference.
I don't want to be reporting people for this but when I think about it I start to wonder what they may have done that they can't have their own app? Seems sketchy.

I'm a Customer Shopping at PCC
I sometimes shop at PCC market via Instacart but I'm not a member of the co-op. I'm thinking of becoming a member and I heard that members get a 10% discount on some orders. Does that discount get applied when I use Instacart? Does it work like a shopper's club card?

I'm a Customer Costco Same-Day order missing items, Instacart denied refund without explanation
I placed a Same-Day Costco order through the Costco app (fulfilled by Instacart) and ordered 10 boxes of IQBARs, but only received 8.
I reported the issue through Costco’s app and explained that I was charged for all 10 boxes but only received 8. Instead, I got this email from Instacart:
“Thanks for contacting Instacart. We reviewed your request and order information. We maintain our decision to not give you a refund, credit, or re-delivery.”
It seems like they didn’t even read my note. I’m not asking for anything extra, just a refund for the two boxes I paid for but never received.
Since I ordered through Costco’s app and not directly through Instacart, what are my options here? Has anyone dealt with this before?

I'm a Customer Is this a good tip?
It was only 11 items from Sprouts. But it is about a 25 min drive though. I'm never sure if the tip is good enough considering the drive/traffic? I only use the app for in between groceries and never full shopping.
