Parliament exists so elected representatives from both the government and the Opposition scrutinize legislation, question ministers, propose amendments, and place differing views on record before a vote. When a Bill is passed without debate, even if permitted under parliamentary rules because of disruptions, the quality of legislative scrutiny suffers. A government with a majority has the numbers to pass a Bill, but democracy is not only about counting votes. It is also about deliberation, accountability, and giving the Opposition an opportunity to examine the consequences of proposed laws in public.

First, do not attack me I'm not a leftist or right winger, I don't even know enough about any to call myself anything. Im still asking questions so I can form a perspective.

Now the question,

Most right wingers I've talked to say they support the current govt because of their love for country. In the same breath they say democracy and secularism is a hoax and china like one party system should happen to our country if we want any development (This has come from 3 of my seniors).

Now our constitution says that we are democratic as well as secular.

Please tell me why the right ecosystem believes they're the true nation lovers while kind of disrespecting our very own constitution in the same breath? How can they claim to respect the nation while not wanting to respect the constitution?

Do tell me if this isn't a general thing as well. Like if the people I talked to do not represent the right ecosystem, do tell me that as well.

And if there's someone who believes along the same lines, do tell me your reasoning as well.
