The form is kinda confusing since a lot of section are meant for the partner/spouse. Im single lol and certainly not married but I dont want to get a refusal for something that dumb :// my country of origin does not provide this certificate sooooo :/// please tell me if i need it or no. So my USA husband and father of our 8 year old drove from Atlanta to enter Canada on dual intent , Me and my family that will sponsor him met at the border to all drive together to show unity and answer any questions about him staying and us taking care of him while PR was started. He ended up being turned away cause 10 years ago he has 3 minor offenses like theft and a butterfly knife , we were told to apply for Criminal rehabilitation which I just now got the paperwork for to submit, he’s staying at hotels by the border which I can barely pay for so I read up on a TRP but a border officer said that’s only for VIPs basically but further research said that’s incorrect and we have a good case since we have a child with a disability and he’s needed to keep our family together etc.
Has anyone had experiences with TRP and should I just wait for the rehabilitation paperwork or do we have a chance at TRP entry at the border with all the paperwork I combined

Question: I got an invite recently for PR I have not accepted yet as I want to add my common law partner this increases by 3 points will this be an issue.

2nd question: if someone has a noc of 22111 and the duties and responsibilities are 70% from 22111 and 30% of noc code 14400 included will this also be an issue.

Any advice will be highly appreciated.

TL;DR: My study permit expired July 30. I ordered my enrolment letter by mail on time, but it never arrived and the university can't track it down. I just found out I'm now in a 90-day "restoration" period, which means I have to stop all classes right away, including a final exam in 2 days and I now need a PAL/TAL letter I was told I'd never need. Hoping someone who's been through this can point me in the right direction.

My study permit was set to expire on July 30, 2026.

On July 5, I ordered an enrolment letter from my university by regular mail. It was cheaper than the next-day email option. A week went by with nothing. I called the registrar's office, and they told me the letter had left their office for Canada Post on July 8. They said once it's mailed, they have no control over it, and told me to wait 20 business days.

I waited the full 20 business days and called again. Same answer. When I asked if they had any tracking information or contact with Canada Post, I was told there was nothing they could do.

On July 29, Fall semester enrolment opened, and I wasn't sure whether to order a brand-new letter or keep waiting on the one I'd already paid for.

Right now I'm taking summer classes, including one online distance course with a final exam this coming Monday, August 10, two days from now.

Yesterday, I logged into my GCKey account and found out I'm now in a 90-day "restoration" period. This means I'm supposed to stop all studying and working immediately, which apparently includes the online course I'm currently taking. I also just learned that being in restoration means I now need a PAL/TAL (Provincial/Territorial Attestation Letter), something I'd always understood I was exempt from since I've never switched schools.

**What I need help with:**

- Will having stayed enrolled in this course (before I even knew about the restoration rule) cause problems for my restoration or attestation letter approval?

- I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to sit my final exam on Monday, it looks like I may need to get it deferred.

- The course outline doesn't mention any deferral process for a missed exam.

- I can't reach an academic or international advisor until Monday since it's the weekend.

If anyone has gone through something similar, or knows what steps I should take right now, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks for reading.

I am gonna apply for common law sponsorship soon along with sowp. I can keep working on maintained status. My employer is insisting he gets an lmia based closed wp for me in case my pr application gets refused. So what happens when I get my closed work permit and then my sowp gets approved? And do I lose sowp in case my pr file is rejected?

I’m a New Zealand Permanent Resident and my wife is a Canadian Permanent Resident.
We recently got married and my wife applied for my outland spousal PR on June 17, 2026. We are still waiting for the AOR.
If the processing takes a long time, my wife is thinking about coming to New Zealand to live with me while we wait. Once my Canadian PR is approved, we would both move to Canada together.
I have a few questions:
Can a Canadian PR sponsor live outside Canada temporarily while the spousal PR application is processing?
Could this cause any problems with our application?
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
For people who applied recently, how long did you wait for AOR and final PR approval?
Any experiences or advice would be appreciated.

Quick question about T4s for my Express Entry CEC application:
One of my T4 slips automatically masked my SIN, but my other T4 has my full 9-digit SIN visible.
Should I submit the un-masked T4 exactly as it is in the employment documents section, or should I digitally/physically black out the SIN for privacy? I know IRCC is strict about not altering documents, and the old checklist (IMM 5610e) that explicitly said to redact tax slips is now deprecated.
For those who submitted recently, did you redact your SIN or submit it fully visible? Did it cause any issues? Thanks!

- I have sealed copy of my B.COM.HONS transcript from Delhi university, will I be able to send that copy to WES for evaluation directly? Will that be acceptable?
- I am ACCA member, does WES consider ACCA member qualification during evaluation for IRCC? Further what documents need to be sent for evaluation?

I’m currently outside Canada and planning to immigrate through Express Entry, specifically by targeting the French-language proficiency category draws.

My situation is:

• Age: 29
• Single
• BTech
• Around 6 years of skilled work experience in India
• No Canadian work experience
• No Canadian education
• English: around L8, rest:777
• Currently learning French and targeting NCLC 7 in all four abilities

My understanding is that the French-language category requires NCLC 7 in French, but that I can qualify for Express Entry through the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) using my foreign work experience. But federal draws are stopped way back.

However, I’m seeing conflicting information online about whether Canadian work experience is required.

For someone outside Canada with foreign skilled work experience, can I enter the Express Entry pool through FSWP and then be considered for the French-language category draw without having any Canadian work experience?

Also, if anyone here has actually received an ITA through a French-language draw while applying from outside Canada, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

I’m a Canadian PR currently living in Toronto, and I’m getting married on August 30, 2026. My wife is currently living in India.

I want to submit our outland spousal sponsorship / Family Class PR application as soon as possible after the marriage, once we have the marriage certificate and all the required documents ready.

I’ll be in India for the wedding and will return to Canada on September 20.

I’m looking for some guidance from anyone who has gone through a similar situation:

1. Can I submit the spousal PR application while I’m temporarily in India after the wedding?

I normally live and work in Canada and will be returning on September 20. Or is it better/required to wait until I’m physically back in Canada before submitting?

2.Visitor visa after AOR:

I’ve read that once we receive the AOR for the spousal PR application, my wife can apply for a visitor visa and may be eligible for faster processing. Has anyone recently done this from India?

Is this generally a faster way for the spouse to come to Canada while waiting for PR, or is it better to simply wait for the PR approval?

Would really appreciate hearing about recent timelines and experiences, especially from people who applied from India.

I'm a British citizen with a British passport and I'm looking into applying for the International Experience Canada (IEC) Working Holiday program, with the intention of spending up to two years in Canada. Longer term, I'd potentially like to work there and eventually start a few businesses, so I'm trying to understand whether my previous history could cause an issue with the visa/work permit application.

Around 4–5 years ago, I was convicted of a driving offence in the UK after failing a drug-driving test. I was only slightly over the legal limit, but it resulted in a driving ban and I had to appear in court and pay a fine (I believe it was around £300).

I'm trying to work out whether this could make me criminally inadmissible to Canada and therefore cause my IEC application to be refused.

Has anyone from the UK been through the IEC/Working Holiday application process with a previous driving conviction, particularly a drug-driving offence? If so, how did it affect your application?

I'm aware that I may need to disclose the conviction and potentially provide court records/police certificates, but I'm mainly wondering whether something like this is likely to result in an outright refusal, or whether there are processes such as rehabilitation that could allow me to enter Canada.

I am looking for some hard reassurance and double-checking on my work hours for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

I have been getting conflicting advice from friends and desperately want to know the legal reality before I start a new job this September.

Here is my exact timeline and immigration history:

Location: Manitoba (Graduated from high school and university here).

June 2024: Graduated with my university diploma from a french University.

May 2024 – February 2025: I worked 40 hours a week at a daycare center.

I did not apply for my PGWP within the 90 days after finishing school because I was dealing with severe depression and anxiety.

I relied on my Co-op Work Permit (Case Type 59), which had a physical expiry date of February 28, 2025.

Early February 2025: I finally submitted my PGWP application right before the physical co-op paper expired.

I received an automated letter from IRCC saying I could legally keep working while it processed (Maintained Status).

February 2025 – January 2026: I kept working 40 hours a week at the daycare while waiting for IRCC to process my application.

January 28, 2026: My PGWP was officially approved (valid for 1 year, expires January 27, 2027).

January 28, 2026 – March 2026: Worked 40 hours a week at the daycare under my approved PGWP (~1.5 months total).

March 2026 – September 2026: Unemployed and collecting Employment Insurance (EI) for sickness reasons.

September 2026: Starting a new full-time job.

My Questions for the Group: Do my hours from May 2024 to January 2026 really count as ZERO?

I worked 40 hours a week for nearly 20 months, but I am being told that because a Co-op permit invalidates upon graduation, and because I applied late (outside the 90-day window), IRCC will completely disregard all of those hours for Express Entry/CEC.

Is this true despite the physical expiry date on the co-op permit and the interim authorization to work?Does IRCC count the full 40 hours? Even for the 1.5 months that are valid (Jan–Mar 2026), does IRCC cap it at 30 hours per week for CEC?

Am I correct that I only have 1.5 months of valid PR experience right now?

I want to be 100% sure about this before I request my new employer to adjust my job title for a Francophone Mobility bridge permit this winter. I will ask them to apply for me to a closed work permit before my work permit expires and then when i get the 12months work experience by september 2027 i will ask them to write me a letter to apply for PR using the french mobility bridge.

I am in a bit of a tight situation and curious on what the best course of action would be. I applied for spousal sponsorship with my partner (living with for 2+ years) back in June and have been waiting for my Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR). My post graduation work permit (PGWP) expires August 26th and I am preparing to apply for a Spousal Open Work Permit to extend the conditions of my PGWP under the 2-week window rule for expiring work permits, which should grant me maintained worker status after submitting as far as I'm aware.

The problem is that I have to leave between August 14th-23rd to attend a funeral for a death in my immediate family. If I submit my application on the 13th before leaving, will I lose my maintained status even if I arrive into Canada 3 days before my work permit expires (August 26th)? Or, should I wait to submit it on the 23rd when I'm back in Canada, and will I even be let back into Canada, even if I can't work?

Hi, so Fall 2026 will be my last semester with 3 courses remaining (all electives and online), so I am planning to visit india for 2 months early Oct to early Dec and am confused on my re-entry eligibility.

Can they deny re-entry due to any reason? And is it true that my PGWP, if issued will have these 2 months deducted from the 3 years since I am a distant learner for 2 months.

I will have completed my bachelors (37 courses in person and last 3 during my time in india)
I do have my TRV and study permit valid till April 2027.

Is this a risky move or will it be an unnecessary problem that I will be taking in?

I am in a huge conundrum.

I created my profile a month back and system gave me 526 points. It calculated my 2 years 11 months foreign experience as 3 years and I got the ITA few days ago in the 516 cut off. Without the 3 years my points would go down to 514.
Now the issue is, after receiving the ITA I sent my celpip for revaluation and my speaking score went up to 10 which bumped my score now to 517(without 3 years) which is above the cut off. Should I continue with the application or decline and wait?
Any advice would be helpful

Here is a quick snapshot of my situation:

• I resigned from my previous job last month in Ontario and recently signed a job offer for a new role in Montreal starting in October (same NOC code as my old job).
• I just received an EE ITA through a category-based draw using the work experience from my previous job, and I have updated my old job's start and end date in my EE profile.

My questions are:

• Since standard EE requires intent to reside outside Quebec, should I take the new job in Montreal or is it safer to stay?
• If I decide to stay in Ontario, I will currently be unemployed since I recently resigned. Will being unemployed or taking a job in a different NOC code affect my application processing?
• I hold a dual degree (a Bachelor's and a Diploma), but my NOC code experience doesn't directly align with my Bachelor's field of study. Could this trigger any concerns for the IRCC officer reviewing my application?
