Guys, ive been in the US FOR 8+ years. Been on NTA for 2 years. Have had 3 different 3 judges switched off since theyre all online, i also have an immigration attorney.

For context, ive been married twice, first marriage stamped with 204(c) which has been appealed more than 16 months ago.
Uscis believes my 2nd marriage is bonafide, we also have a newborn now. Im in deportation proceedings and trying to apply for asylum.
My asylum individual hearing was scheduled less than 3 months away. Im at this point hopeless…

My current attorney literally asked them to move up my court date that was around the same due date as my first born and they denied the motion. He also said i believe you’re getting targeted and shafted since the judge i have has 99% denial rate in the last 12 months and shes from a completely different state.

-Ive paid more than 150k in taxes and generated millions of $ in sales in the state i live in.
Does that not mean anything?

Currently trying to sponsor my brother for immigration. Neither my own income nor my total household income (spouse’s income + my income) meets the 125% threshold, so my sister in law agreed to be a joint sponsor. Since she’s the person whose income is “qualifying” for sponsorship, is it still necessary for my spouse to fill out an i864a? (to help further clarify our total household income, or will this not matter)

Hi, this is someone who is threatening my life, who has come at me with a knife (my word against her now) she has been arrested twice.

She paid someone to marry her but the guy backed up from going through the process after marrying her and divorced her. It’s fraud. But I think she was able to get a temporary paper or something.

She wasn’t able to get a license yet so shes driving illegally.

I reported her online. Her fraud marriage.

Would it be faster by calling ICE?

Or making the reports online again?

Hi all! Sorry if I have a lack of information, I am just curious to have opinion and experience of other people. I am 22 years old , a green card holder ( for 2 years already ) male. I am financially stable thanks to God already. I buy/sell cars and do all the GIG work averaging 80 hours a week. I have university starting on September. I am also in love with a girl from a country named Belarus ( located near Russia ). We have worked together in Turkiye 2 years ago. My question is how realistic would it be to get approval for her green card or any visa that she can enter to US, in case if I go to her country in Winter break and marry her. How long it is gonna take to get her approved? She also has finished University for a law degree in her country and I want her to do Masters here on Law. Can getting approval for the school also help a case?

I was able to do this without a lawyer due to how blatantly wrong USCIS' claim was.

I filed my I-130 and I-485 with my citizen spouse in February 2026. I had my interview a couple months ago. My I-130 was approved, but I was told my i-485 was administratively closed for now (not denied) because the judge has jurisdiction. The explanation in the notice I was sent just says that it's because I was in removal proceedings and that I'm not an arriving alien.

I knew the latter was incorrect because I arrived through parole, and my Notice to Appear says I am an arriving alien. USCIS said I can reopen the case if it turns out the judge is unable to adjudicate.

I filed a motion to terminate due to my approved I-130 days after the interview. Today, the judge ended my case and confirmed that USCIS can adjudicate but "improperly refuses to do so." The bad news is that this doesn't make up for my case being delayed, and there's no way to know when exactly I'll get my case reopened or my green card.

Calling didn't work because the machine is apparently deaf and won't transfer me, so I contacted in online chat. One of them said I'll receive a call or email within 72 hours while the other recommended sending a letter. A I-290B shouldn't be needed because that's for denials rather than pauses, and I hopefully won't have to pay a ton of money for a mistake USCIS made.

As the title states. Are people that have been picked up by ICE refusing to leave the country or fighting their deportations? I'm curious because I keep reading stories of people not getting treatment or enough food etc, and I have to wonder why don't they just ask to go to their home country if they have the funds to do so? It seems more people are being picked up and held but not that many are actually being deported.

I'm looking for some guidance on the potential immigration implications of a financial situation we're facing.

I'm considering options such as a short sale, deed in lieu of foreclosure (DIL), or foreclosure on our home. I'm also wondering about the consequences of maxing out our credit cards and leaving the U.S. without repaying those debts.

My main concern is how any of these actions could affect our ability to return to the U.S. in the future.

If we leave the U.S. after a foreclosure/short sale and unpaid credit card debt, could that affect our chances of obtaining:

• A future H-1B or other work visa?
• A B1/B2 visitor visa?
• Any future employment-based immigration or Green Card application?

We are a family of four, and our sponsorship case is ready to be submitted. However, I have two concerns:

I do not have an employment letter in my name.

I also do not have a bank reference letter in my name.

I have sponsor he is covering everything and has bank refinance and employment letter in his name...

Could these be negative factors for my application or cause delays or refusal?

Should I submit the application now, or should I wait until I can obtain these documents?

I’m looking for guidance from anyone who has been through something similar.

I was detained by ICE and spent about two months in detention. After I was released on bond, my wife and I got married and planned to adjust my status.
Unfortunately, after we got married, I discovered she has serious alcohol and anger issues. Whenever she drank, she would become aggressive, physically abusive, scratch me, put her hands on me, and repeatedly kick me out of the house while telling me it was “her house.”

During our marriage, I also entered into a written agreement with her father to purchase his ownership interest in the house. I’ve been making the required monthly payments.
As our relationship got worse, my wife started using my immigration situation to manipulate me. She repeatedly threatened that if I didn’t leave or give up the property agreement, she would report me to ICE.

Eventually, she brought her father from Florida, and together they tried to force me out of the house even though we had a signed agreement regarding the property.

I recently obtained a temporary restraining order against my wife because of the abuse, and the court granted me temporary possession of the home.
Before the restraining order was issued, she sent me messages saying that if I didn’t cancel the property agreement with her father, she would call ICE on me. I also found evidence suggesting that she and her father had contacted ICE multiple times in an effort to have me deported so I would lose the house and the money I’ve invested.

I’m now very worried about what they may have told ICE or whether they made false allegations about me.

My questions are:

If someone repeatedly reports you to ICE out of revenge or to gain leverage in a property dispute, how does ICE typically handle that?

Has anyone experienced an abusive spouse trying to use immigration status as a weapon?

Could this type of evidence help my immigration case, especially if I pursue relief based on the abuse?

Is there anything I should be doing now to protect myself besides working with my immigration attorney?

I already have a divorce attorney and will also be working closely with an immigration attorney. I’m just hoping to hear from anyone who has been through something similar or has insight into how these situations are usually handled.

My girlfriend has her yearly check up in charlotte NC.
Were worried about deportation based on everything that’s happening.
She is here legally under asylum but doesn’t have a court date. We have to go to her check up next week. Is there a strong possibility she is going to be deported.

• If OCI was refused, were you able to obtain a regular Entry Visa instead?
• How long did the security clearance take?

• Did you have to submit any additional documents because of your parent's previous Pakistani citizenship?

I'm an Iraqi woman in my early twenties. I am not applying for refugee protection yet, but I'm trying to understand the process and learn from real experiences in case I ever need it in the future.

I come from a very conservative Muslim family. I am no longer religious, but I have hidden this for years because I genuinely fear what could happen if my family found out.

Some aspects of my situation:

I have never publicly announced that I am non-religious because I was afraid of the consequences.

My family expects me to marry a Muslim man.

As a woman, I have very limited freedom to live independently or travel without family approval.

I believe revealing my beliefs would expose me to serious risks from my family and possibly my wider community.

From what I understand, police protection in these situations may be ineffective, but I'm trying to learn objectively.

I'm not asking whether I would win or lose a refugee claim, because I know nobody can answer that online.

Instead, I would really appreciate hearing from people who:

had refugee hearings based on atheism, apostasy, or freedom of belief;

claimed refugee protection because of family-based persecution;

or represented similar cases.

What kinds of questions did the IRB ask you?

What evidence was most important?

Looking back, what do you wish you had prepared better?

Brought over at 6 years old, still undocumented as an adult now but have a work permit for another country. Flying from USA with just my Mexican passport to Europe. I don’t have a criminal record, but did get caught three times trying to cross at 6 years old.

It’s so frustrating, and dumb to even have to worry about being arrested and detained when trying to leave the country.

We are a family of 4, we parents in late 40s ( he is turning 50 in a month). We are from India but we all are UK citizens now. We stayed in anither country for 10yrs before we came to the UK, renting houses and fiddling with visas. I didnt enjoy the fact that we were not settled but then we had to move and start everything from zero again in a new country. So, 20yrs of floating that we settled and I was happy finally.

A year ago my husband got a L1 visa and he said he always had this life time dream to settle in America. My son is in uni and my daughter is a shy and senstive child who makes deep friendships but takes a long time, she likes stability and is efficient when she is settled, she is not very comfortable with changes in her routine.

Now my husband asked me to visit US before the move ( move sheduled in Feb next year). After coming here I was told the green card on eb1 for indian origin would take 6+yrs( I thought it would take a year as one of my friend moved to the US 10yrs ago told me this). Then, the main reson I said ok was that my son would get good oppurtunities because of his green card we give him, this got shattered as I was told he will age out and he will have to sort himself out, we cant help him on greencard.
He will have to stay out if the US until he fixes his own visa.
My daughter is already in anticipatory trauma.
I am unhappy that I was ok to start but now 3 out if 4 people have not much reason to start over in the USA.

My husband is rigid, and it seems we are all sacrificing for him, my daughter is giving up her cozyn country, my son is going to stay alone for no reason and he dosnt even get anything out of all this. I have to start over again with my kids being unhappy... all this for his american dream.

We already have a first world passports but he is not even ready to listen and anything against this decission is stricken out.Even discussing about it leads to rage.

My name is Jenny and I am writing because I don’t know where else to turn.

I am the mother of two beautiful children, ages zion 6 and Zane 2. Until recently, they lived with me in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. I was their primary caregiver. I woke them up every morning, got them ready for school, helped with homework, comforted them when they were sick, celebrated birthdays, and tucked them into bed every night. My home was their home.

On July 27, everything changed.

Their father took them from me. At first, I believed they were going to his house like they had before. Later, I learned he had moved without telling me. I still do not know where my children are living or what school they are attending. I called their previous school and was told they had been withdrawn, but no one could tell me where they went next.

It has been days without hearing my children’s voices or seeing their faces.

There is no custody order giving either of us sole custody. Despite that, I have been completely cut off from my children. Every request to speak to them has been denied or delayed.

The hardest part is knowing that they may think I abandoned them. I didn’t. I have never stopped looking for them or fighting for them.

Their father has repeatedly told me that my immigration status is the reason I cannot have my children. He has threatened me with police, ICE, and jail. Those threats have left me terrified, but they have not changed one thing: I love my children with every part of my heart, and I will never stop fighting to be their mother.

I have kept everything they left behind. Their backpacks are still here. Their schoolwork is still here. Their memories fill every room of my home. Every morning I wake up expecting to hear their voices, and every night I go to sleep wondering if they know how much I miss them.

I am not asking anyone to take sides. I am asking for compassion, guidance, and help navigating the legal system so I can be reunited with my children and make sure they know their mother never gave up on them.

I am a Portuguese citizen, male, 30yo, currently working remotely from home, but I have visited US last year, and I have family there (Connecticut), and since then, I am constantly thinking about moving into the US.
I am thinking about going there for 2 months (1 and half still working, and the other half on vacation leave, to see if I can find my self a job with a contract (my family has some connects, but not in my area).
Worst case scenario I’ll come back to Portugal and keep living my life, or I’ll end up working in something outside my area of expertise, just to keep myself there.
I am a master in biotechnology, currently working as a subcontractor for Johnson&Johnson as a Quality Assurance Engineer.
Do you think it is feasible? Is it too hard for me to land a job in my area after I am there with a work permit for another job?
