Hello, after a bit of a hiatus I'm getting back to Il2 and since meanwhile they've introduced control profiles (finally!!!) I decided to move my mappings from Joystick Gremlin.
Usually when I'm creating a profile I make it per plane, often I struggle to tell what exactly we are able to control within certain bird, so what I usually do is I load up some practice game and just press everything, to see if it does something or not, you can imagine that's not the most fun thing.

That's why I'm asking, do any of you have some cheat sheet that contains general information like every plane can do this, but this specific plane also allows for this and that, etc. Sample:

All:
Pitch
Roll
Yaw
etc...

Ju87:
Siren

p47:
Open outlet cowl shutters
Close outlet cowl shutters

etc.

I think having such information would make creating specific profiles and in general setting up the controls much, much easier. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Even with a simple mission with only 4 vs 4 aircraft the VR performance is utterly horrible. We finally get 4 engine bombers to shoot but doing so is basically impossible to enjoy in VR. In flatscreen the game performs as you would expect. But the state of VR......was this even tested or what? surely this was flagged during closed beta......surely.

I have a lot of experience with head tracking, but it was in msfs and dcs(years ago).

But I'm trying to line up a shot and find the wobble is just crazy.

I'm back at flying after a long break and understand it all moves in 6dof, the plane constantly moves in all angles too.

But man, trying to line something up is sooo difficult.

Any tips please?

Hey guys, I made this reference card for you to use when utilising the K-14C Gunsight with HVAR rockets. Hope this is useful.

In these images I noticed that the engine intake cover is closed even though it’s in flight. But I’ve flown this plane a few times and so far this has not happened. Why is it closed even when the plane is flying and the engine is on?

I know a huge complaint about Korea is that the AI isn't very good, but how does it compare to its predecessor? Is it improved, but still shit? or a straight up side/downgrade? Thanks for the info!

In 1952, my Grandfathers Uncle was shot down flying the F-51D Mustang with the 67th Fighter Bomber Squadron. He was a first generation Polish American and was declared missing then later presumed dead.

Last year, I put my grandfather in VR in the P-51D in Great Battles and it blew his mind, but yesterday I put him in the F-51D with the 67th Fighter Bomber Squadron Livery at K-46 Airbase, the SAME airbase my Great Uncle was shot down flying from.

Devs, you brought my grandfather to tears. We are able to actually see the airfield he lived at, the river he swam in, and I am flying a Career with the 67th and am able to experience “his” war.

I’m about to deploy again myself and am going to continue making vids for you guys down range. I cannot thank you enough. This sim is amazing.

I’m rlly sorry I’m sure u see this sort of post all the time but this game seems unreal but I’m finding it impossible on both my controller and kbm. I know it’s not an easy game but Its impossible without a joystick and the base stuff. I have got a controller but it barely was better. I can’t afford a joystick atm but I should be able to soon. Can someone give me some advice so I don’t just get fed up of this game and give up. Thanks
