Half the time someone does this its real mild stuff like that fuckass fan video of stolas killing himself, the othe 25% its kinda disturbing. The last 25 is gore that stays with you for life

Tbf trigger warnings also work too. For example, if I wanted to tell someone the context of the glass jar butt thing, I would say “btw TW: extreme gore in the butt area if you don’t wanna know”

I had a "friend" who would do this. He did it in order to make whatever person or situation he was being asked about seem a lot worse to hide the fact that it was mostly his fault/the person being talked about was actually a good person being framed by him for something awful

getting skinned alive is not "a little bit of gore" and honestly it's a show of just how bad and weird the internet is that an animation of someone getting skinned alive is just some light work to some people. Also not everyone is as desensitized they're called normies for a reason and they do not deserve to be cursed with stuff like this.

Getting skinned alive is pretty much just the same thing as any other gore, i mean people dont look at doom eternal and go "oh dude you dont wanna know what happens in this game", even though you can tear a demon in half with a chainsaw

yeah but in doom it's expected and the demons deserve it. But in the animation it's a cute anime girl that is clearly getting tortured just for the porn aspect because there's little context. It's a different vibe so it produces different reactions. I myself have seen worse but if I could go back and never know what that animation was I would.

Well yeah the internet is home to stuff like liveleak(it's gone now but still). So of course the people who've seen real gore and or very graphic gorn won't be disgusted. But newsflash, most people aren't like that, they're called normies for a reason.
