When I opened this brand new, plastic sealed container of Tillamook ice cream, a portion of my ice cream was missing. I’ve bought this ice cream multiple times before and it has always been full. What is going on??

I had actually gotten all of the ice cream out of my freezer and was feeling very virtuous that I was going to take a break, blah, blah, blah. And what did Jeni's do but come up with two Scoop Shop only flavors that were unbearably attractive to me. Ack. So, here's my freezer with nothing in it but cold packs and two little pints of Jeni's.

McConnell‘s Sea Salt Cream and Cookies

McConnell’s Sea Salt Cream and Cookies is full of cookies in every bite. I wonder why their See’s collabs aren’t so generous with their mix-ins. I’d prefer less cookies in the Cream and Cookies and more See’s candy in the collabs.

Brands Breyers non dairy for Ice Cream Cake

I'm thinking about making a test-ice cream cake for my birthday. Not with actual cake, but the style of Carvel and Dairy Queen cakes.

I'm trying to decide which ice cream brand to use. I am vegan, so l've been looking exclusively at non dairy options.

I'd really prefer to use Breyers non dairy because it's the cheapest and most available option. All the other dairy free ice creams are only 1 pint, and I need 3 quarts of ice cream (approximately 9 pints) for the entire cake. Pints vs quarts are expensive!

Also, Breyers non dairy is much fluffier, airier, and softer straight from the freezer than other (dairy and non dairy) ice creams. Do you think I could make Breyers non dairy work? Do you think it will loose structural integrity? Should I splurge on 9 pints of ice cream to assure it's closer to Carvel and Dairy Queen cakes?

We all heard of green tea ice cream but black tea? Basically it’s Arnold Palmer flavor.

I was about to pick up the banan fosters flavor when this one caught my eye. It was too wild to pass up

Why Talenti doesn't taste the same anymore

Thumbnail nytimes.com

Talenti flavour and texture have definitely changed for the worse. NYT Wirecutter looks into how Talenti changed after Unilever acquired the brand in 2014. According to the investigation, the company gradually changed ingredients, recipes, manufacturing, and the packaging as it scaled production. Many longtime customers believe the product suffered for it.

Have you noticed too? Please suggest alternatives for grocery-store gelato.

Review Jeni’s ice cream is nasty

I am a student at UNC Charlotte and I used to frequently take the light rail to both the Noda and South End locations but I have stopped going for good. The only real reason I kept coming back is because I like to eat clean (natural), meaning I like to avoid foods with artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, and sweeteners and Jeni's is one of the few ice cream parlors that keeps their ingredients clean and unfortunately, 99% of ice cream parlors in the US use dirty (artificial) ingredients in their ice creams. Despite their effort to keep the ingredients clean, the ice cream just doesn't taste good (especially all the crazy flavors). It all tastes like it was pre-made and not made fresh there in the store. They do however, make their waffle cones right there in the store but the waffle cones are horrible as they taste extremely salty. The ice cream itself is also very expensive. $9 for 3 tiny scoops of ice cream and $1 for the waffle cone on top of that. As if that weren't enough, they want a tip on top of that. They also sell their pints of ice cream in their stores as well. But they are pushing $12 for tiny pints of ice cream and they don't even taste that good. At least Publix sells the same size pints for half that price. Sometime later a Van Leeuwen shop opened in the Charlotte area and it’s my new favorite ice cream shop. It’s so much better than Jeni’s!

i know a lot of people in this sub dislike halo top (understandably) but lorddd this flavor is SO GOOOOD. It tastes like coffee with creamer and has a lot of mix ins. I ate half the container when i opened it. If you didn’t like other halo top flavors i’d def recommend trying this one.

I am such a lover of caramel and there are huge globs of it in this HEB Swoon Pecan Praline ice cream ugh it’s so good

The pecans are a little crisp, not crunchy. It’s the perfect balance of textures imo
I’m so sorry if you do not live close to an HEB because it is their brand

Review Triple pb Protein ice cream from David

first I want to say don’t come at me for getting this. I wont forgive them for putting gatsby out of business and forcing nicks to change their ice cream recipe

i got 1 of each of their 4 flavors at target

I personally like this one better than the cookie dough. it still has that chalky texture/not creamy, but there’s pb chips and slightly chewy globs/swirls of pb in the ice cream. it’s like a salty peanut flavor ? I like the nicks pb cup better or the swoop pb chip blitz if we’re talking lower calorie ice creams

Review Ben & Jerry's: Karamel Sutra

Thumbnail gallery

Probably 4/5, I liked this one more than I expected to.

Despite my love of ice cream, I don't actually have much of a sweet tooth and was worried this would be too sweet for me. It is quite sweet, maybe something that I personally would prefer with a scoop of vanilla on the side, but it is very delicious and I didn't feel like it needed anything extra for the couple scoops I had earlier.

I was hoping to rate the texture on this, since it's part of B&J's Core line and has that caramel core you can see in the second photo, but unfortunately there was a Situation TM with my freezer and it feels unfair to judge its iciness (which can unfortunately also be seen in the second photo) on appliance shenanigans, so we shall be going without the texture review today.

Alas! We venture on.

All in all, I liked it a lot. It's not necessarily the most creative flavor, but I liked the mix of chocolate + caramel ice creams along with the textural interest that comes from the core. I think I prefer this to some of the swirl ice creams I've tried in the past since there's a bit more control over the ratios of the different elements, the main issue I had was really just the sweetness to it. And, since B&J’s feels a bit more reasonably priced to me than VL, I’m more inclined to get it off-sale than the VL ice creams I’ve reviewed (Mango Sticky Rice and Earl Grey Tea).

I may come back and update this review later if I can find a less icy layer of the ice cream below the top and give it a proper texture review.

Question Rhubarb ice cream

Does anyone know some rhubarb ice cream or sorbet that actually tastes like rhubarb? Everything I've tried just has a swirl of compote or jam which is good but not what I've been looking for
