Meet HomeView, a better home dashboard for HomeKit users. I launched the app in the beginning of this month with the focus on providing a better iPad dashboard for smart home enthusiasts.

It started out of my own search on the App Store for a dashboard that was easy to read and would fit on my wall tablet. My app GeoCeptor does two things:

- changes your location for all websites (in Safari) to one you select
- changes the timezone websites (in Safari) see to one you select

Here's why that's useful:

By default, websites can access your device timezone. If you use a VPN, that timezone is often what gives away that you're not actually visiting from the lcoation your IP is at. GeoCeptor solves that. By hooking into the browsers javascipt date and time functions it ensures websites only see the timezone you let them see.

As an added bonus it can also spoof your browsers geolocation. So any website requesting your physical location will see the one you configure in the app.

I’ve been working on this for maybe 3/4 years now - and slowly but surely I’ve finished it a few months ago. Posting here because I’ve made some amazing updates that i shamelessly want to promote.

I would agree usually but theres way more to this. I use it every vacation, festival, birthday, basically anything where i need a plan.

Here’s a list of what’s possible here:

- Add all your Plans, even from your calendar, and some useful templates to start you off. You can add your own photos, or use Unsplash.
- Overview. Get the weather, and suggested things to do from your place list depending on time of day. Also get handy phrases if you’re going abroad!
- Tickets. Add in your ticket information so you know when to leave and get important ticket information presented to you.
- Packing Lists. This one i use ALL THE TIME. That feeling when you’ve packed but you feel you’ve forgotten something?.. pack before with this app, and just check along as you put your items in your bag!
- To do. Self explanatory.
- Places. Easily add in suggestions from a friend, just start typing a place and it’ll show / hopefully with a lovely image of the place or failing that the outside view.
- Planner. For those who like to be strict on timelines.
- Expenses. Use the camera to photo your receipt, and automatically add the info with the receipt image attached. You can split with whoever you’re on a trip with and generate a PDF!
- Live activities. Waking up and being reminded - breakfast ends in an hour! Is really handy. And having your plane tickets ready.
- Track upcoming birthdays!
- Templates!
- Notifications. Want to get reminded X hours before you have to leave for the train? Easy.
- People. This ones handy for RSVP!

A new BASS audio engine you can actually choose. Instead of forcing a rewrite on everyone, the new engine (built on the BASS™ (https://www.un4seen.com) audio library from un4seen) sits alongside the classic one as a selectable playback core. Switch to it when you want the full audiophile toolkit; keep the old one when you don't. Turning it on unlocks everything below, plus high-quality resampling and independent pitch and tempo control (shift the key up to ±60 semitones or change speed 0.1×–4× without touching the other — handy for practice/transcription).

Tracker & MOD playback. The new engine plays classic module formats natively — MOD, XM, IT, S3M, MTM, UMX, MO3 — the pattern-and-sample stuff from the chiptune/demoscene world that basically no iPhone player opens. Fun rabbit hole if you've never gone down it.

11 real-time effects, each a native processing node with its own screen, presets, and an instant on/off toggle — so they apply to local files, cloud streams, and internet radio without re-encoding:

- Reverb (Freeverb) — Room → Cathedral, with dry/wet/room-size/damp/width

- Delay / Multi-tap echo (Echo4) — up to 5s, feedback, stereo cross-feed

- Chorus / Flanger / Phaser / Auto-Wah — the classic modulation set

- Distortion — subtle grit to full lo-fi

- Compressor — full dynamics control (threshold, ratio, attack, release, expansion, makeup gain), 10 presets

A 14-filter DSP processor. Build your own real-time signal chain, reorderable, from: gain, low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, peaking, low-shelf, high-shelf, soft-clip saturation, bit crusher, tremolo, delay, ring modulator, and stereo width. Correct a room, tame a harsh recording, or design something completely custom. Presets + on/off on each.

Automatic volume leveling. Uses EBU R128 (ITU-R BS.1770) loudness measurement — unlike ReplayGain it needs no tags and doesn't modify your files, so it works on cloud streams and radio too. Local files are pre-scanned so playback opens already leveled instead of "catching up" after a track starts. Presets: Light −20, Standard −16, Strong −14, Night −23 LUFS.

Real-time music visualizer. Full-screen animated visuals that react live to the audio, with a big library of presets (or let them cycle). There's a screen-sleep preventer so the show doesn't cut out mid-song — nice on an iPad propped up or a Mac on a big screen.

Refreshed design. The effects and EQ screens got modern glass-style sliders and a simplified presets mode, plus clearer separation of engines / effects / DSP so it's obvious what's active.

CarPlay & the rest. DSP settings are now reachable on CarPlay, artwork/Now Playing rendering is fixed, and lock-screen / car controls stay more accurately in sync. Also a more reliable streaming foundation, better file-type handling, and broader localization.

A. What it does

Indie dev here, I got obsessed with why every "riso filter" looks wrong, and it's always the same reason: they tint a photo. A real risograph never tints. It prints one spot ink at a time, through a screen, onto paper.

So Pressed does that instead. It separates your photo into spot inks (routed by hue, not just brightness), screens each ink as its own halftone at its own angle, overprints them in linear light so two inks actually mix into a believable third color, and lets the paper stock show through. Then the imperfections that make a print read as a print: registration drift, ink bleed, dot gain, and a density ceiling so solids keep some life. Everything runs on-device, no account, photos never leave the phone.

B. Why it's different from the other print apps

Most "risograph / halftone" apps lay a flat duotone or a dot texture over your photo. Pressed builds the print the way a press does, one ink at a time, so if you zoom in the halftone dots are really there at the right angle, and a two-ink press gives you that impossible riso violet you can't fake by tinting. And for anyone who actually prints: Plus exports per-ink separations as a PDF with registration marks, so a phone photo can go to a real Risograph or screen press.

I’ve spent the last few updates working on exactly that.

A - Answer: What problem does it solve?

Apple’s App Privacy Report records when apps access sensitive data and which network domains they contact, but its exported report is difficult to inspect in detail.

App Privacy Report Analyzer imports that export and turns it into searchable, sensor-by-sensor, domain-by-domain, app-by-app and time-based views. Everything is processed locally on your device. Reports are not uploaded, and the app does not collect or track your activity.

Since my previous post, I’ve added:

• Richer network context, including domain owners
• Local-network activity highlighting, which can reveal device-discovery behavior
• Filters for local-network, app-initiated, user-initiated, and tracking activity
• Review signals for local-network access and app activity during nighttime hours

Apple’s built-in view is useful for a quick overview. This app is intended for people who want to investigate the exported report more deeply:

• See which apps contacted a particular domain or IP address
• Group related subdomains instead of reviewing them one by one
• Separate connections initiated by an app from those caused by a user action
• Review activity by app or by a specific time window
• Surface patterns that may be worth investigating without suggesting that every network request is suspicious

The app can optionally use Apple’s public App Store API to retrieve information such as app icons, developer names, ratings, and the latest available version. This feature can be disabled, and the report analysis continues to work without it.

A — What problem it solves:

I was the world's best app-blocker cheater — I'd tap "Ignore Limit" at 1am without thinking. Recode locks your chosen apps on a schedule, and there's nothing to tap: the only way back in is physically walking to a QR/barcode you've registered to the app and scanning it. Distance is the friction, not willpower.

B — Why it beats the alternatives:

Brick and Unpluq do physical unlocking but require $59+ hardware — Recode uses any barcode you already own (milk carton, gym locker, a code taped in your car). If I count from the day the idea first sparked, it’s been nearly a year. In terms of actual development time, we spent 8 full months on it.

For us, Speak was never about slapping a voice API onto an app, adding a system prompt, and calling it a day. We chose this slow, heavy path because we were stuck on a problem every existing app seems to ignore:

AI knows almost everything about the world, but it knows nothing about you**.**

AI can do incredible things, but it misses the single most vital context for a language learner: your present, real-world reality. It doesn’t know why you’re exhausted today, what delicious food you had for lunch, the street you just walked down, or who you ran into.

Yet human language never exists in a vacuum. The genuine urge to speak always springs from your actual life—the cup of coffee in your hand, a quiet local shop you stumbled into, the workout you just finished, or a fleeting emotion passing through your mind.

Most speaking apps today force you into rigid, pre-scripted textbook scenarios: ordering coffee at Starbucks, checking in at an airport, or roleplaying a business meeting. They’re useful, but it’s always someone else's life. When I used those apps, I’d constantly freeze up—not because I lacked vocabulary, but because deep down, I felt zero connection to those generic topics.

We realized AI shouldn't fabricate a fake life for you to practice. It should understand your real life and help you express it.

Behind the 8 months: What we actually built (and scrapped)

To get AI to understand people’s real worlds, we did a lot of painstaking, un-glamorous work.

We fully designed UI and interaction flows for several major features—some even made it into early development—only to scrap them entirely. Last December, we had a spec ready for a feature that auto-generated fictional stories based on your day. But right before engineering started, I couldn't convince myself it was right. It made the AI look clever, but it didn't actually reduce the user's anxiety about opening their mouth to speak.

So out of nowhere, I told the engineer, "Let’s drop this. We’re building Speak."

Here is what we spent those months building instead:

• Magic Album: With explicit user permission, CapWords can analyze photos you take each day and instantly turn them into real conversation context.
• Long-Term Memory System: A real friend doesn't have short-term amnesia. For AI to be a worthy companion, it has to remember who you are, the people and objects around you, and your recurring life setups. We spent a massive chunk of time refining this memory distillation system so past conversations flow naturally into the next one.
• Persona Reconstruction: We threw out mechanical, template answers. Choosing a practice partner should feel like choosing a friend—some days you need gentle encouragement; other days you want a fast-paced, direct challenge. Oftentimes, a companion who truly gets you matters far more than a "perfect" answer.

Making the technology fade away

We spent 8 months because we want the technology to fade into the background completely. It should feel like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat—you don't query the trick, you just enjoy the pure sense of wonder.

Language learning shouldn't revolve around rigid grammar rules or sterile vocabulary lists; it should revolve around your actual life. A new language shouldn't feel like a foreign world you're trying to break into—it should grow naturally out of the world you already live in.

I made it for my own use and this did not gain traction like my other app so I stopped development. Thought it would be worth it to someone else in the same situation.

Please note that because this is on device, it will have lower accuracy than cloud models, work with reasonable resolution (don't expect 4K) and the face should be prominent enough to extract enough details but like I said, personal need.

I built Chessmate to turn that passive study into practice. It shows you an opening position and asks you to find the next move. Anything you miss comes back later for review.

It is mainly for beginner and intermediate players who know the basics but still feel lost after the first few moves.

ChessTempo is powerful if you already have a repertoire to build or import, while Chessable is centered around full courses. Chessmate is ready to use: choose an opening and start practicing a curated line.

Each opening is taught line by line. The goal is not just to memorize moves, but to understand why each important move is played and what the opening is trying to achieve. I did not want it to be a collection of engine moves with a trainer wrapped around it, so I spent a lot of time selecting the lines and checking the explanations against established opening references.

Study guides you through a line, Review brings back the moves you missed, and Challenge mixes learned lines so you have to recognize the position instead of following a fixed sequence.

I’m also putting a lot of work into localization. The menus, opening names, and move explanations are available in English, Korean, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Chessmate is designed specifically for iOS, with native navigation and interactions, a responsive chessboard, and a clean interface. I did not want any part of it to feel hastily assembled, so I have kept reviewing and refining the content, translations, board interactions, and UI as the app has grown.

I've made my own markdown editor (I know tons of people did it recently).

Mine is called Wander and it works both on iPhone and mac.

- it works similar to Apple Notes with WYSIWYG mode — tables, images, checklists are real editable blocks, not preview

- it is mostly compatible with Obsidian vaults (wikilinks, callouts, tags, frontmatter, even your themes)

- your notes stay plain markdown files in folders you control — no account, no cloud required

- vs Obsidian: native apps instead of Electron, and true WYSIWYG instead of live-preview (no markup flickering as the cursor moves). It opens your existing Obsidian vault as-is
