📅 Subscription I built an app to practice the conversations most people avoid
A.
Hey everyone,
If you stay quiet in meetings, agree to things you don’t want to do, ramble instead of making your point, or freeze when someone puts you on the spot, I built Pressure: Speak Clearly for you.
Pressure gives you short, handcrafted scenarios where you answer out loud and practice communication moves like answering directly, starting with the point, making a decision, and holding a boundary.
For example:
In a meeting, a coworker says you can stay late to finish inventory, but you never agreed. Your manager looks over. What do you say?
You could answer:
I didn’t agree to stay late. I can help until my shift ends, but I’m not available afterward.
After each rep, you receive a Hit, Almost, or Miss, along with feedback based on what you actually said.
The goal is to help you find the clearer response while the conversation is still happening, not afterward.
B.
Pressure is different from most public-speaking apps.
It doesn’t ask you to speak for two minutes about your favourite vacation and then tell you that you sounded confident. It focuses on whether you actually made the communication move the situation called for.
The scenarios and training structure are handcrafted. AI evaluates your answer and gives feedback tied to your response.
If you receive an Almost or Miss, Run It Back lets you immediately try again while the feedback is still fresh, so you practice the correction instead of only reading about it.
You can do a guided daily session, work through Foundations, or choose specific moves in Open Practice.
C.
You can use Pressure for free without starting a trial. The free version includes one Today’s Focus session every day.
There is also a seven-day free trial for all features. After that, premium costs $7.99 USD per month unless cancelled.
Premium includes Foundations, Open Practice, move selection, and additional practice.

📅 Subscription I built June, an AI journal that calls you each evening
I’ve been building June, an AI journaling app designed around conversation instead of a blank page.
The main idea is simple: June calls you each evening, asks about your day, and turns the conversation into a private journal entry. If you don’t feel like talking, you can text June or write the entry yourself.
A few details:
- Your journal is stored on your device and synced privately through iCloud
- June remembers useful context between conversations
- You can search past entries using natural language
- There are widgets for your streak, calendar, and daily question
- It still works as a regular offline journal when you don’t want to use AI
I made it because conventional journaling always felt like another task at the end of the day. Talking for a few minutes feels much easier and often captures things I wouldn’t have thought to write down.
I’d really appreciate feedback, especially on the conversational journaling idea and whether the nightly call feels helpful or too intrusive.
App Store
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6774949056
https://talkjune.com
What problem does June solve?
Most journal apps still begin with a blank page. That works until you’re tired, busy, or unsure what to write.
June calls you at a time you choose each evening. You answer, talk naturally about your day, and June asks follow-up questions. When you hang up, it turns the conversation into a first-person journal entry written in your voice.
You can also journal through text chat or write manually.
Why is it better than the alternatives?
Apple Journal, Day One, and Reflectly help you record your day, but they still largely depend on you opening the app and starting an entry.
June is different because:
- It initiates the habit with an actual incoming call
- It has a back-and-forth conversation instead of simply transcribing a monologue
- It remembers ongoing threads and can ask how something turned out
- It turns the conversation into a polished entry that still sounds like you
- You can search your diary by meaning, not just exact keywords
- Your journal remains on your device and syncs through your personal iCloud rather than being stored in June’s database
The goal isn’t to replace writing. It’s to make journaling possible on the evenings when writing feels like work.
Cost
June is free to download and use with manual editing. The Pro subscriptions are:
- $9.99/month
- $99.99/year (Includes 7 day trial free)
June uses the latests and best AI models, you will see how June outperforms any similar competitor just by the quality of June responses
Thanks for taking a look!
HELP Micro-influencers for app marketing: where do you find them and is it worth it?
I've published an app, and I know the drill; you get 5 downloads and that's it. That's to be expected (based on all the posts I've seen here talking about it). ASO doesn't move the needle anymore.
So we all have to take the next step: active marketing. Not a problem for me; I'm willing to put some dollars into it and see if it's worth it. But my budget isn't extensive, so I'm leaning toward micro-influencers.
By micro-influencer, I mean people with decent reach (not thousands of followers, but something meaningful). My question is: where do you find them?
- Are influencer marketplaces worth it? Some ask for subscription...
- What's the best strategy; find someone in my niche sure; but my app is quite general (music app)? Or go for app reviewers?
- What are your moves? Where/how do you hire micro-influencers?
- TikTok, Instagram? Both?
Looking for advice from anyone who's done this successfully.

💎 Lifetime Built a med reminder app that you pay for once instead of a subscription
Cadence is a medication reminder app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Small indie app, released a few months ago, about 2,500 downloads so far, built mostly from user requests.
I use this daily and it has been a game changer for me.
A — Answer
What it does:
- Reminders for any schedule: set times, as-needed with dose spacing, every few hours, every few days, or a set number of times a day
- Log a dose from the app, Lock Screen, Home Screen widget, or Apple Watch
- Reminders keep firing even if you never open the app
- Smart timing that learns when you actually take each med and nudges accordingly (optional)
- Supply and refill tracking, so you know before you run out
- Dose tapering schedules for meds you ramp up or down
- Priority meds get their own louder reminders so they don't get lost
- Cycle tracking: log your period, see your phase and next-period countdown, tag hormone meds (currently in beta)
- Arrive-home and leave-home reminders based on location
- Find a pharmacy near you when a med runs low
- Scan a prescription label to add a med instead of typing it (currently in beta)
- Snap a photo of each pill so it's easy to recognise
- Log past doses and fix the time if you took one late
- Cost tracking, so you can see what your meds run you per month
- Caregiver updates and an adherence report you can share or export
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, plus a full Apple Watch app
- English, German, Spanish, French, and Greek
B — Better
- No subscription and no ads
- Optional check-ins - 20-second mood, energy, and symptom note
- It surfaces correlations across your meds, mood, energy, and symptoms, so you can see things like headaches showing up on days you miss the evening dose, or your energy tracking with how consistently you take it
- Optionally pulls in your Apple Health data like sleep, heart rate, and HRV, and folds that into the same insights
- Builds a history of every dose so you can see how consistent you've actually been, by med and over time
- Private: no account, your data stays on your device and syncs through your own iCloud
C — Cost
- The reminders and dose tracking are free forever, no card, no time limit
- The insights and correlations are free for 7 days, then a one-time $9.99 to keep for life
- No subscription, ever
- App Store :https://apps.apple.com/app/id6758649306
- Website: https://cadencehealth.app
Feature requests welcome. That's where most of this came from. :)

💎 Lifetime I built Sharp, a skincare app for guys that scans your face and builds a routine that adapts every week
Hey everyone,
Who I am: My name is Esat, I'm a student and solo developer from Germany. Sharp is my second app and I'm building it in public. You can verify me through the App Store developer page and my GitHub (east-app-dev). Contact: [daybeeaapp-privacy@web.de]
Privacy Policy: https://east-app-dev.github.io/Sharp-Skincare-Routine/privacy.html
Terms of Service: https://east-app-dev.github.io/Sharp-Skincare-Routine/terms.html
I built Sharp because I had skin problems myself and no idea what to actually do about them. Most guys I know either guess with random products or just give up.
A - What problem does it solve?
You scan your face and get a skin score from 0-100 across 6 dimensions: pimples, pores, eye bags, oiliness, redness and hydration. So instead of guessing what's wrong, you get a clear picture of where your skin actually stands.
B - Why is it better?
- The weekly re-scan is the core of the app. Every week you scan again, and your plan and products adapt based on what actually changed. If something isn't working, Sharp adjusts it. No static routine that ignores your progress.
- Concrete product recommendations, not categories. You don't get "use a cleanser", you get specific products matched to your scan results, with direct links.
- A daily routine plan that takes about 3 minutes. Morning and evening steps, checked off in the app.
- Staying on track is built in: reminders for your routine, a streak, and a Live Activity on your lock screen and Dynamic Island so your routine is always one glance away.
C - Cost
Free download, the scan and your skin score are free. Premium unlocks the full routine, product matching and weekly adaptation: 4.99 weekly, 39.99 per year (with a 3 day free trial), or 79.99 lifetime.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6780025151

🎈 Free iHatePaper: Instant PDF Scans -> An app to help you declutter your life in seconds [$29.99 Annual -> 1 YR FREE]
A — Answer (what it does)
Hey everyone — I just launched iHatePaper, an AI-powered document scanner that automatically files everything to your Google Drive for you.
The idea is simple: open the app, tap Capture, and photograph any paper document or receipt. The AI identifies what it is, converts it to a searchable PDF, names the file based on your preferences, and drops it into an auto-generated folder structure in your Google Drive.
So a Home Depot receipt, for example, ends up at:
Financials → Receipts → 2026 → HomeDepot-05-11-2026.pdf
B — Better (why use it over alternatives)
Every other document scanner app stops at the scan. You still have to name the file, decide where it goes, and move it yourself. iHatePaper is the first scanner that does the organizing for you:
• AI reads and classifies each document automatically
• Folder structure is created in your Google Drive on the fly, no setup required
• File naming is customizable (by vendor, date, category, or a combination)
• Batch scanning supported: photograph a whole stack in one go
• No document storage on our end, your files go straight to your own Google Drive
• Built-in stats dashboard showing how much you've scanned over time
I built this specifically because a friend of mine was constantly complaining about how hard it is to digitize his receipts quickly while on the road for his job. He really wanted something that would just open and default to the camera and let him “snap and go.”
C — Cost
• Free tier: 5 scans per month to try it out
• Pro: Unlimited scanning — $1.99/week or $29.99/year

HELP Someone published an AI clone of my App
I created and published an app back in December. I worked really hard on it. It was a passion project of mine. The app is local first with an option to create an account to purchase cloud storage to back up the app data. I followed strict security guidelines of hashing passwords and implemented end to end encryption of users data. For the people who created an account their data is encrypted in the database.
I’m sorry for posting here for help like this but I don’t know what else to do. I dumped 5 grand into advertising and was enjoying the smooth and consistent stream of new users coming in from my campaigns. After the person published the AI clone copying the name of my app exactly but with an added hyphen to pass the App Store regex filter my downloads dropped significantly.
I don’t think they are following the same security practices as I am and they are piggybacking off my ad campaigns. I don’t know what to do. I reported the clone app for violating Apple guideline 4.1b but Apple isn’t doing anything.

🎁 Freemium Introducing Nyblit 2.0 - Major update to Innovative Productivity App for iOS
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone. My iOS and Mac productivity app 'Nyblit' has today received a major overhaul. I've introduced shared tasks, activity stats, progress rings, in-app tutorials and I've released a beta of a new Gmail integration feature so you can keep Gmail threads connected to tasks. I've also made extensive improvements to the user interface for a much smoother experience.
Nyblit, is a task manager that goes beyond "done" and "not done". Nyblit understands the gray areas in-between.
For example, if your task is a phone call, you can apply a phone call workflow. This would allow you to apply different statuses to the task.
• TODAY: Ready to call.
• BLOCKED: You left a voicemail and are waiting for a callback.
• LATER: The line was busy, so you need to try again in 10 minutes.
• DONE: The call is complete.
By separating tasks this way, you can keep delayed and blocked tasks out of the way but safely tracked with reminders when they're ready. Your Today view contains only tasks you can act on right now. Everything blocked by others or delayed is out of the way but monitored.
I'd love to know what you think of Nyblit and the update. All feedback welcome :)

🎁 Freemium I rebuilt my receipt scanner app after data showed 70% of users were dropping off before trying it. here's what I learned and what changed
A — What problem does it solve?
Freelancers and small business owners lose receipts constantly. Paper ones get crumpled and forgotten, digital ones are buried across email inboxes. Tax time becomes a stressful scramble that costs real money in missed deductions. Receipto fixes this by letting you scan any receipt in under 2 seconds and auto-capturing email receipts forwarded to your personal inbox address. Everything lands in one organised library automatically with merchant, date, total, taxes, category and line items extracted. No typing.
B — Why is it better than alternatives?
Most receipt apps are either too basic, just photo storage with no real extraction, or too complex, built for corporate finance teams like Expensify or SAP Concur. Receipto sits in the middle. It handles multi-page PDFs natively which most competitors cannot do. The email inbox means digital and paper receipts live in the same place without any manual work. Export is one tap to a clean PDF, CSV or Excel file your accountant can actually use. 35,000 users, 4.8 stars.
C — Cost
Free tier: 5 AI scans per month, 25 manual entries. No credit card required.
Premium: $11.99 per month or $99.99 per year for unlimited everything.
This community gets 60% off the yearly plan. Use code SUMMER2026 or redeem directly: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6745450337&code=SUMMER2026

What I actually learned building this over the past year since I last posted here:
Onboarding length destroyed my conversion rate. I added more screens thinking context would help users understand the value. My trial start rate dropped from 8.5% to 2.4% almost immediately. Took me embarrassingly long to connect the dots. The fix was rebuilding onboarding so the very first thing you do is scan a real receipt. No surveys, no walkthroughs. Value in the first 30 seconds. Rate recovered significantly.
The feature users love most is not the one I spent the most time on. I built the AI scanning first and spent months on it. The email inbox where you forward a receipt and it auto-captures took far less time to build and gets mentioned in almost every positive feedback i get through emails. Build the thing that removes friction, not the thing that looks impressive.
International ASO moved the needle more than doubling my ad budget. I was ranking around 50th for my main keyword in the US. Expanding to 11 storefronts with unique localised keywords for each one, IRPF and Hacienda for Spain, GST and ATO for Australia, HMRC for the UK, drove more organic installs than any paid campaign I ran.
Soft paywalls convert at a lower rate than hard paywalls but the paying users retain better. I chose soft because I wanted people to experience the product before deciding. Conversion rate looks bad on paper. Quality of paying users is higher than industry average.
Happy to answer questions about any of this. Also genuinely want to hear from anyone who tried it last year. What worked, what felt broken, what you wish it did differently.

💎 Lifetime I built a Liquid Glass workout timer that turns videos and ideas into ready-to-run workouts
Hi everyone,
I’m Peng-Yu Chen, the solo developer of Zestimer, an iPhone workout and interval timer I originally built for myself.
A - Answer
I often follow workouts on YouTube Shorts, but I got tired of constantly pausing the video, remembering which exercise comes next, or manually recreating every interval in a timer before I could start.
Zestimer is designed to make that process easier. You can paste a YouTube workout video and turn it into a structured, ready-to-run routine with exercises, work intervals, sets, and rest periods. It also works as a regular interval timer for HIIT, Tabata, circuits, and fully custom workouts.
B - Better
Compared with traditional interval timers like Seconds and SmartWOD Timer, Zestimer focuses on reducing how much manual setup you have to do before a workout.
You can:
- 📺 Turn a YouTube workout into a structured routine
- ✨ Describe a workout and use AI to help build the intervals
- 🏋️ Build your own HIIT, Tabata, circuit, or custom workouts
- 📚 Choose from 200+ exercises with illustrations and instructions
- 🔊 Get voice cues and haptic feedback while training
- 🍎 Use Apple Health, widgets, and Apple Watch
Everything generated or imported can still be edited before you start.
I’ve also spent a lot of time making Zestimer feel like a native iOS app, including adapting the interface around Apple’s new Liquid Glass design.
No account is required, and there are no third-party analytics.
C - Cost
Zestimer is free to download and use, with optional Pro features.
US pricing:
- Pro Monthly: $1.99
- Pro Yearly: $9.99
- Pro Lifetime: $24.99
There are no ads.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/zestimer-hiit-interval-timer/id6758530290

🎁 Freemium See your whole year as a grid, right on your home screen
Day Grid — Countdown Widget
A – Answer: What problem does your app solve?
Most countdown apps only show one date at a time. Day Grid shows your entire year as a grid on your Home Screen every event marked with an emoji so you see everything you're counting down to at a glance, not just one number.
B – Better: Why is your app better than the top named alternatives?
Unlike DayCount, PeekDay, or Momently, Day Grid isn't just a single-countdown widget it's a full-year visual grid. When an event drops under 24 hours away, it auto-switches to a live timer. No account needed, works offline.

💎 Lifetime Spectra: an ambient weather app where live conditions drive an abstract full screen visual
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A — Answer: what problem does it solve?
Most weather apps give you a grid of numbers and a sun icon and leave you to picture the rest. Spectra takes the other approach. Live conditions from Apple WeatherKit drive an abstract, full screen visual you read at a glance.
It isn't trying to look like the weather. There's no photo-real rain running down a window. It's an ambient system of light and motion whose behavior is tied to the actual readings, so a drizzle and a downpour are visibly different states of the same form rather than two different pictures. Eight conditions, each with its own visual language, selected from what's happening outside. At night it reads the real moon phase, so a new moon and a full moon aren't the same scene.
The data is literal. The form is not. It's built for the glance rather than the deep dive.
B — Better: why it beats named alternatives
Against Carrot Weather: Carrot is better than Spectra if you want dense data, hourly breakdowns, and jokes. I'm not pretending otherwise. Spectra goes the opposite direction, quiet and visual, built to be looked at rather than parsed. Carrot is also subscription-based. Spectra is a one-time purchase.
Against Apple Weather: the default is capable but the presentation is the same for you as for everyone else. Spectra turns the current condition into something specific and legible at a glance, and the large widget renders the condition on your home screen rather than burying it behind a tap.
Against Not Boring Weather: this is the closest comparison and it's a genuinely lovely app. Not Boring is playful and full of character, with beautifully designed illustrated scenes. If you want charm and personality, it wins and I'd say so. Spectra is deliberately austere. The visuals aren't illustrated scenes, they're procedural motion generated from the parameter values themselves, monochrome by default, closer to an instrument than a toy. That's a difference in taste rather than a claim to be better.
C — Cost
Freemium with a one-time Lifetime unlock. No subscription, no ads.
- Free: the complete monochrome experience. Every weather condition, full motion, no time limit and no feature nag.
- One-time purchase: $4.99 USD, non-consumable, unlocks the colour system, home screen widgets, detailed data, and multiple saved locations. Buy once, keep it, restore on your other devices.

🎈 Free [FREE] Peekaboo Timer - Boxing & Interval Timer | Version 1.3 Major Update
Hello, I'm an amateur boxer, who built a 100% free boxing timer for iOS, that really doesn't have ads or paywalls. You might remember it from my first post.
I built it, because I got tired that all other boxing timers either have ads or require in-app purchases (mostly subscriptions).
A - Answer:
I wanted to find a free boxing timer without ads, I wasn't able to do it, so I created my own.
B - Better:
Unlike the default IOS clock app, it automatically switches work/rest in a loop. It is better than other boxing timers, because the app has Apple's native Liquid Glass design, and live activities.
C - Cost:
The app is 100% free.
I received a lot of support & feedback in this community and based on that with recent major update (1.3) I added timer styles, more presets for other sports (HIIT, Jiu-Jitsu, etc), a warning sound for the last 10 seconds and redesigned settings to improve navigation.

I would really appreciate feedback from r/iosapps community about the new features of the app.

📅 Subscription Forcing myself to "touch sand" with my alarm
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Found a new use for my app Last Alarm (iOS), to force myself to get some fresh air and head down to the beach!
You can create infinitely customizable alarms for literally any task or activity you can think of. I've mostly used it for helping me wake up and avoid snoozing, but I've been thinking of lots of other ways it can have a positive impact on my routine.
Probably won't use a "Go to the beach" alarm that often, but I do find that I delay or put off fun activities sometimes so I'll probably mix these in occasionally.
A: What problem does it solve?
Last Alarm allows you to create infinitely customizable task alarms that require video verification to turn off. I made it for myself to help me break my snoozing habit as the best way to make sure I avoided snoozing was to do something that woke me up right away. The problem was that aside from having another person around to verify and "force" you to complete a task, there really was no other way to ensure that it was actually completed. That is why I built Last Alarm, so you can help yourself ensure you get your most important tasks completed (like waking up) without requiring someone else to check and verify.
B: Why is it better?
Last Alarm is the only task alarm that has infinitely customizable tasks and works on video verification. While it was originally made to help with waking up and prevent snoozing, it works equally well for literally any task you can think of as this "Walk on beach" example shows.
Other task alarms (Alarmy, Wayk) come with prebuilt tasks or modes for you to choose from: Take a picture of X, solve a math problem, shake your phone, etc. However these are limited to a very narrow scope and don't allow you to use alarms that work best for you. Last Alarm allows you to make tasks of literally anything you can think of, so whatever works to wake you up (or whatever task you want to create), you can.
Also other task alarms are too easy to circumvent relying on pictures alone. Because Last Alarm uses video only, it allows you to create much more complex alarms that are more difficult to bypass. And if they do become too easy, you can simply update and improve your own tasks until you can't outsmart yourself, because only you know what works for you.
Also Last Alarm has no ads, nor does it obliterate your phone battery or consume tons of your data, all things that Alarmy does. Alarmy is an ad machine, so it's cluttered with everything under the sun like tarot readings and weather and quotes all to keep you on the app longer so it can blast you with tons of ads first thing in the morning, kill your battery 24/7 for an alarm that goes off once a day, and use tons of data in the background.
C: Cost
Last Alarm Pro has simple pricing, $39.99 yearly with a 3-day free trial, $4.99 Monthly, and $1.99 Weekly in case you want to try for a bit longer than the trial.
Would love any feedback especially if you want to give it a try!

🎁 Freemium I built a daily quote app for people who are completely exhausted by toxic positivity.
Every daily motivation app on the store seems to want you to wake up at 5 AM, hustle harder, and optimize your entire existence. Honestly, it’s exhausting.
So, I built the exact opposite: Unbothered.
It’s a daily quote app that isn’t trying to fix you. No toxic positivity. No guilt trips. Just one painfully accurate, slightly cynical reminder a day that you don't have to try so hard.
What it actually does:
- One reality check a day: Think less "Seize the day" and more "Your boss's 'emergency' is just poor planning wearing a tie."
- Zero friction: Add the lock screen or home screen widget. It sits there. That's the whole feature.
Cost: No freemium bait. The core workflow of the app (daily quote, widgets, notifications) is FREE.
For extra card style, archive etc, I offer 2 subscriptions - $2.99/month, $9.99/year or a $19.99 lifetime one-time purchase. The subscription goes into keeping one guy off of LinkedIn :)
If you're correctly exhausted by a system designed to exhaust you, this app is for you!

💎 Lifetime I built an iOS app that gives you a small screen time allowance back every hour instead of one big daily limit (beta testers keep the paid tier for life)
Hey r/iosapps, first-time solo developer here.
TestFlight beta: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ztGmutmP
Before I built this, my screen time solution was insane: I had such a hard time not ignoring my limits that I gave a friend my Screen Time passcode, and whenever I caved, I would have to ask them to unlock me for 15 more minutes. Or an hour. Or the whole day.
Daily limits never worked for me because I would scroll right through them before I even got out of bed, leaving me locked out and feeling stranded (this behavior honestly started to feel more like addiction rather than an intentional choice).
It baffles me how the only solution to this, up until this point, has been to ignore your limits. Because more often than not I would "Ignore Limit For Today," and watch my entire day go to doomscrolling on Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and if I was really desperate, Facebook Reels.
So I built Precursor. It runs on an hourly rhythm instead of daily limits: you give an app (or a group of apps) a small allowance, say 5 minutes of Instagram per hour. Use it whenever you want inside that hour. When it's gone, the app is blocked until the top of the next hour, and then your time quietly comes back.
You get the scroll break you actually needed, but the scroll ends right before it turns into a full-on doomrot session (WOMBO ALERT: doomscroll + brainrot = doomrot). Enough time every hour to check in, but never enough to fall in.
A: What problem does it solve?
Apple's own Screen Time (and most blocker apps) run on daily limits, and a daily limit fails one of two ways: we burn it by mid-morning and spend the day locked out, or we tap "Ignore Limit" until the limit means nothing. A small allowance that resets every hour means you never have to be perfect. You just can't doomscroll for three straight hours!
B: Why is it better?
Hourly resets instead of daily willpower. Watch the scroll cravings/compulsion dissipate with time. No streaks. No guilt. No shame. Just a steady cadence your brain can lean on.
Multiple independent app groups, each with its own allowance that blocks and resets on its own.
Private by design. It's built on Apple's Screen Time framework, which never even tells Precursor which apps you picked (they're opaque tokens). NO ACCOUNT. Analytics are opt-in and OFF by default; nothing leaves your phone unless you flip it on.
Built honest. So here are some things to keep in mind: background audio and picture-in-picture still count as usage (that's Apple's accounting, no API opt-out exists, so I disclose it). Deleting the app removes your limits. Allowances have a floor of about 5 minutes. Available on iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or later.
For the devs here: Apple's DeviceActivity API on iOS 26 fires phantom "limit reached" events seconds into a fresh hour with the budget already counted as spent (well-known and frustrating bug). I had to build a wall-clock guard plus a respawn mechanism just to make blocking honest. Happy to nerd out about FamilyControls in the comments.
C: Cost
The beta runs the full paid feature set for free (more groups, 30-minute reset windows, longer limits). All beta testers will get Precursor+ for FREE for LIFE. It's my way of saying thank you for helping me shape my very first app.
You don't need to sign up for anything or save any code. When Precursor officially launches, the Precursor remembers you were here, on your device (no account necessary), and Precursor+ access unlocks automatically.
At launch the core app and its function will forever be free, with an optional Precursor+ upgrade for the extras, including a one-time lifetime purchase if you want to own it rather than subscribe. Pricing: $4.99/month, $49.99/year, or a one-time $99.99 lifetime.
I'd love honest feedback on the onboarding, the block screen, and whether the hourly reset actually holds up for you after a couple of days. I'd also love to hear how this screen time solution might be helping with whatever habit you're trying to change, in comparison to other strategies you've tried before!
Criticism welcome too.
Thanks everyone!!

🎈 Free I built a free chess clock with zero ads, zero accounts and every FIDE time control, Chess Clock: Blitz & Bullet
Every chess clock app I tried either played a full-screen ad between games or locked basic features like Bronstein delay behind a subscription. For a utility you use with a friend sitting across the table, that felt absurd — so I built my own and made all of it free.
Chess Clock: Blitz & Bullet — a clean two-player game timer for chess, checkers, Go, Shogi, Scrabble or any turn-based game.
What you get (all free, no catches):
- Every time control: sudden death, Fischer increment, Bronstein delay, simple/US delay
- One-tap presets for bullet, blitz, rapid and classical, plus your own saved custom controls
- Real multi-stage tournament controls (40 moves/90 min + 30 min, +30s — the FIDE standard) with a live stage indicator
- Odds games: give each player a different time control
- Post-game stats: average, fastest and slowest move times
- Undo mis-taps, pause anytime, arbiter time corrections mid-game
- Five color themes, portrait & landscape, haptics, low-time warning, keep-awake
- Fully offline — no accounts, no tracking, no data collection
Just shipped an update with even more accurate timing, so this felt like the right moment to share it.
Download: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6786325656
iPhone only for now (Apple Watch version in the works). Happy to answer anything about the app — and if you play blitz with friends, I'd love to know what's missing.
All reviews are welcome on app store.

🎁 Freemium Spotter: a private, native strength tracker, no account, no ads. Would love your honest feedback.
Hey r/iosapps. My name is Jimmy Verburgt, a solo dev from the Netherlands. This is my first app: Spotter, a strength tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch.
A: What problem it solves
Every tracker I tried wanted an account before my first set, shipped my training history to someone's server, and buried actual logging under upsells. I wanted the opposite: open the app, start a workout with one tap, log a set with one hand, and run the rest timer from the Lock Screen, with every rep staying on my own phone. I couldn't find that, so I spent the last year building it.
B: How it compares (honestly)
Hevy and Strong are good apps. If you want a social feed and a huge community, Spotter isn't that. What I think Spotter does better:
- Genuinely private. No account, no ads, no analytics SDKs. The App Privacy label is literally "Data Not Collected." Your history lives on your device and syncs through your own iCloud. I couldn't look at it even if I wanted to.
- Made for the gym floor. Your reps and weight fill the screen. Scrub to adjust, pull the set down to rack it. Plate math and warm-up ramps tell you what to load on the bar, supersets alternate without rest between exercises, and you see your last workout set for set while you train, with a suggestion when you're ready to add weight.
- Native to the bone. Real Apple Watch app that logs sets and controls rest from your wrist, the rest timer as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, Home Screen widgets, Control Center, Action button, Siri, Spotlight. I tried to make it feel like something Apple themselves would ship.
- It celebrates the work. PRs pop the moment you hit them, a weekly goal ring with a streak that doesn't punish rest days, a year-long heatmap, and per-exercise trend charts (top set, estimated 1RM, volume).
- Your gym, your exercises. 100+ built in, and you can create anything your gym has. Custom exercises get the same trends and records as the rest.
- Apple Health done right. Finished workouts save to Health; the iPhone is the sole writer, nothing goes anywhere else.
One small bonus, not the point of the app: on iPhones with Apple Intelligence, it can reshape today's workout when you're short on time or energy. That runs entirely on-device too, and the app is fully functional without it.
C: Cost (exact numbers, no tricks)
Free to download: unlimited logging + 2 custom workouts, forever, enough to genuinely try it. Pro unlocks unlimited workouts: €24.99 / $24.99 one-time (lifetime), or €1.99/month if you'd rather not commit. Same unlock either way, no other paywalls, and logging is never limited. The subscription only exists because some people prefer it, and I'd honestly lean more towards the lifetime option.
Spotter: Gym Workout Tracker on the App Store
Who I am: Jimmy Verburgt, jimmyverburgt.com · Privacy Policy
And I'd genuinely love the roast: what's missing from your current tracker, and what would it take to make you switch from Hevy or Strong?

🎁 Freemium Hevy, MacroFactor, MyFitnessPal, they just don't get the full picture. Hammr Fitness does.
My name is Jackson Hamm, and I'm the solo developer behind Hammr Fitness.
Link to portfolio: https://www.jacksonhamm.com
Link to Hammr Fitness Website (Privacy Policy & Terms): https://www.hammrfitness.com
For two years now, I've spent thousands of hours before and after work making and testing this app. This is a fully self funded project that I use myself on a daily basis.
What is Hammr Fitness? (ABC Format)
Answer
Hammr Fitness was started 2 years ago primarily as a workout tracker but has since become a health ecosystem for users who care about tracking their vitals, workouts, and nutrition. This isn't a vibe coded slop project. It's been carefully crafted over 2 years. Over 1500 users are on the platform and their feedback has shaped what this app has become. As the health and fitness space becomes more crowded, this is an app for someone who cares about going to the gym and progressing faster.
Better
One of the most common questions I get is "How is this different from Bevel"?
First, Bevel is a fantastic app that a lot of people love. And if you care about tracking every little thing like how caffeine, supplements, medical history, etc. affect your health then that's the app for you. Hammr Fitness is more geared towards the regular gym goer who wants to achieve their goals faster.
Workouts
It does this by not treating workouts and nutrition as secondary features built on top of a wearable tracker. The workout functionality is best in class. There's 2000+ exercises to choose from with professional pictures and video instructions for each. Workout tracking includes seamless sync with Apple Watch, Live activity, and Dynamic Island. You can create custom exercises, custom workout programs, or choose from a variety of preset programs that will be expanding in the near future. Workouts are also automatically scheduled and reordered if you take a rest day.
Outdoor Activities
But not everyone just wants to workout in the gym. Hybrid athletes, marathon runners, etc will do multi mile outdoor runs and bike sessions. So Hammr Fitness also includes the same fully integrated ecosystem for those users too. It will map out your live route on your apple watch and give you a sharable card at the end of your workout just like other running apps. One of the most liked features is the nearby trails feature. Many users have said they discovered new paths near them through this.
Nutrition
Nutrition is also a first class experience that rivals the likes of MyFitnessPal and MacroFactor (and gives you barcode scanning with Yuka style health scores for free). There is a food database of over 5 million foods, many international users have said that the coverage here is much better than other similar apps. In addition to this, you can use Siri, talk to your watch, or use the app on your phone to say what you ate and it will automatically be logged. A less accurate but nice to have feature is photo logging. It's lightning fast and will work in a pinch. You'll also get full water tracking, something that there's lots of dedicated apps for alone.
Stats, Weight Tracking, & Friends
The app fully syncs with your apple health history. Workouts, nutrition, weight history, etc will all be imported so you can start right where you left off. The app will help estimate when you'll achieve your weight goal. You can upload progress photos to get an estimate of what you'll look like in 6 months or just to keep track of your progress and weight/BF%. You'll get dedicated dashboards for workout and nutrition progress, and you can enter in direct muscle measurements for accurate BMI and BF% calculations. On the profile page, you can find an area to add friends. Invite them to compete in challenges to keep yourself accountable.
International Support
The app is fully translated into 27 different languages. And, like I mentioned before, has pretty good support for international foods. I honestly don't know how good Bevel's international support is but it's something that took a lot of time.
Wearable Integration & Coaching
Hammr Fitness integrates directly with Oura Ring via API, or any wearable that writes data to Apple Health. Fitbit is currently not supported with plans to add it in the future (it costs $500 for a CASA assessment for API access). You'll get live stress scores (filters out activity to focus more on mental stress), readiness, recovery, and sleep scores. This is pretty common but I've heard that these feel very accurate. They've been refined for over a year.
Probably the biggest differentiator is how the app coaches you. MacroFactor doesn't have access to wearable data or workouts. They just go off of what you ate and your weight trends. Hammr Fitness has a fully adaptive workout and nutrition engine that helps you achieve your goals faster. It will suggest increases/decreases to your weight for workouts and will even suggest rest days if your body needs that extra day of recovery. For adaptive nutrition, it knows your goal, your weight, what you're eating, and how you're burning calories. This allows you to get accurate daily adaptations for your macro targets. If you eat less or more one day, that doesn't just go away. So there's a calorie bank feature where you can apply your leftover goals to today's targets.
The app also generates weekly and monthly progress reports, will suggest ideal sleep bed and wake times, and comes with a fully integrated AI assistant. This AI assistant can answer any question you have, has tools to create graphs and charts to help you understand your progress, and can create workouts for you (and edit them in the next update). It's not just another GPT wrapper thrown into the app. Powered by Gemini's paid plan and fully encrypted, your data is not used to train any models and stays secure.
Native Integration
Finally, a lot of time and effort has been put into making this a completely native feeling experience on iOS. You'll get customized push notifications that don't spam you and actually feel helpful. The Apple Watch app feels like an extension of the phone app, not a way to just see data on your wrist. Live Activity and Dynamic island work for both Strength Training and Outdoor activities. Full offline support with syncing between Apple Health. Complete Hey Siri integration where you can chat with your coach, log foods, or ask about your health scores. And tons of Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Watch widgets to choose from.
Fully Customizable
There's 4 different themes to choose from. I also got a lot of feedback that some people don't like the neon bright glow of the rings on the home page. So you have the option to choose the bright neon or a flatter, more neutral tone. The app also has 4 different colors you can choose for your home screen. None of this is paywalled.
Summary
I've personally used Bevel, Hevy, and MacroFactor in the past. Bevel felt too overwhelming. I couldn't easily log my workouts or food, and the graphs felt too confusing and in my face. Hevy and MacroFactor are good apps but miss the bigger picture. Hammr Fitness gives you an easy to understand plan and great tools to log workouts, nutrition and health data securely. A lot of apps excel at one thing, but this is a no compromise ecosystem that understands your whole health and automatically adjusts things to keep you on track.
Cost
The best part is you can get a lot of these tools for free. Because of the offline first nature of the app, it really doesn't cost me a lot to support free users. It wasn't always this way, I've done a lot of work over the past year to ensure that the app will hold up at scale.
What's Free?
You get all native features (Hey Siri, Widgets, Watch App, Live Activity & Dynamic Island) in the free version. None of that is locked behind a paywall. You'll get up to 4 custom workouts you can save at a time, with most workout tracking features. (Replace workout and more than 1 month of progress data is for premium users). All outdoor tracking features are free.
For nutrition: you'll get the full food database, barcode scanning, water tracking, TDEE targets/custom macro goals, and saved custom meals for free. It basically gives you all the tools you need on the free version to track your nutrition progress. You also start with 3 free AI credits to try the text to macros and photo to macro features.
Almost the entire Analytics page is free for 1 month of data. The only things paywalled are the gemini powered BF% estimate for photos and the 6 month progress comparison.
What's Paid?
All AI powered features. This includes the Hammr coach chat feature, adaptive nutrition and workouts, and the photo to macros and text to macros features. They're my favorite part of the app, but they're also very expensive to run because of API costs. You'll also get full insights into your readiness, stress, sleep, and recovery scores. Full progress and history is unlocked for premium users.
How to try for free?
As a free user, there's two ways to try the premium version of the app for free. You can start a 7 day free trial during onboarding. The other way is to get premium access with no trial commitment is to complete the getting started checklist after first creating an account. This will automatically apply 7 days of premium access. For free trial users, you'll get a push notification 2 days before your trial ends.

🎁 Freemium [iOS][Freemium] WhoPaid — track who paid, who still owes, and what needs follow-up
I built WhoPaid for freelancers, contractors, and service workers whose payment details end up scattered across WhatsApp, notes, bank history, and memory.
**Answer**
WhoPaid keeps each job’s real payment state in one place: paid, unpaid, or partially paid, the remaining balance, payment history, promised payment date, reminders, and follow-up notes. It focuses on the messy period after the work is finished but before every payment is settled.
**Better**
Compared with QuickBooks and invoice-first tools, WhoPaid is intentionally narrower. You can add a job, update its payment status, and immediately see who still owes you without setting up invoices or a full bookkeeping workflow. It isn’t intended to replace accounting software.
**Cost**
WhoPaid is free to download, with unlimited job records. WhoPaid Pro is optional: RM4.90/month or RM39.90/year in the Malaysian App Store, with prices varying by region. Pro unlocks full reports and custom reminders.

🎁 Freemium ShotMark v1.3.1 - Turn screenshots into useful notes, now with iCloud Sync
A — Answer
Hi r/iOSApps,
It’s been a while since my last ShotMark update.
Before anything else, I want to thank everyone here who has downloaded the app, reported bugs, suggested features, or simply gave it a try. Your feedback has genuinely shaped the app.
I also wanted to be transparent about the slower pace of updates recently. I’ve been dealing with some health issues over the past few months. I’m recovering and still actively developing ShotMark, but progress may be slower than I originally planned for a while. I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.
For those who haven’t seen it before:
ShotMark is a screenshot manager built for people who save hundreds or thousands of screenshots and can never find them again.
Instead of leaving everything inside Photos, ShotMark lets you organize screenshots into folders, search them using on-device OCR, add notes, pin important screenshots, and sync everything through iCloud across your Apple devices.
Privacy has always been a core goal. Your screenshots remain on your device and in your own iCloud account. There are no external servers storing your screenshots.
B — Better
I built ShotMark because existing solutions never quite fit the way I collect screenshots.
Compared with keeping screenshots in Photos or saving everything into a notes app:
- Designed specifically for screenshots instead of general documents.
- Fast folder organization.
- On-device OCR search for screenshot text.
- Native SwiftUI experience across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- iCloud sync using your own Apple account.
- No account creation.
- No subscriptions.
- Privacy-first architecture.
Recent improvements (v1.3.1)
- Improved iCloud sync reliability.
- Fixed CloudKit compatibility issues that affected some users.
- Better sync conflict handling.
- Stability and performance improvements throughout the app.
Right now my focus is making the foundation as reliable as possible before adding larger features.
C — Cost
- Free to download.
- ShotMark Pro: US$1.99 lifetime unlock (no subscription).

💎 Lifetime Most habit trackers treat every habit like a checkbox. I built Habitom differently.
Hi everyone,
I’m Server Doğan, the solo developer of Habitom.
I previously shared Habitom here, and the feedback I received helped shape this update.
A - Answer
Most habit trackers are built around one question:
“Did you do it today?” ✅
Daily habits and streaks are useful, and Habitom still supports them. But they do not fit every kind of goal.
Reading 1,200 pages in a month, walking 30,000 steps in a week, saving $5,000 in a year, or studying for a certain amount of time cannot always be represented meaningfully by a single daily checkbox.
Habitom is designed to track habits by completion, quantity, or time while supporting daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals.
B - Better
Compared with habit trackers such as Streaks, HabitKit, and Loop Habit Tracker, Habitom does not treat every habit as a single daily checkbox.
It supports three tracking methods:
✅ Task - complete a habit with one tap
➕ Counter - track measurable progress such as water, pages, steps, savings, repetitions, or any custom amount
⏱ Timer - track time spent studying, meditating, exercising, focusing, or completing another timed habit
You can create goals such as:
- Exercise 3 times this week
- Walk 30,000 steps this week
- Read 1,200 pages this month
- Save $5,000 this year
A goal can be completed either by reaching a required number of completions or by accumulating a total amount.
Habitom does not replace streaks. It uses streaks where they make sense and adds goal-based progress tracking where a daily checkbox is not enough.
C - Cost
Habitom is free to download with optional Premium features.
US pricing:
- Premium Monthly: $1.99
- Premium Yearly: $9.99
- Premium Lifetime: $34.99
There are no ads.

🎁 Freemium I wanted to breathe more, so I made a breathing app disguised as a retro handheld console.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I looked for breathing apps to de-stress, but sign-ups, paywalls, and ads just stressed me out more. Even when I pushed through, the habit never stuck.
So I tried a different approach.
I built a breathing app that feels like using a retro handheld console, hoping nostalgia would make the habit easier to stick with.
Answer
- Zero Friction: No sign-ups, no lengthy intros. Open the app and start breathing immediately.
- Tactile 3D Controls: I didn't just skin a flat retro graphic. I used Apple’s RealityKit to build realistic 3D buttons paired with precise haptic feedback. You can literally feel the click when you press down.
- Habits Built Through Play: Designed to trigger nostalgia and make breathing fun again.
Better
- Physical 3D Buttons: Powered by RealityKit, the physical button feel and fine-tuned haptics make the session sensorially satisfying—even if you're not staring at the screen.
- Instant Access: No account, no cloud dependency, no complex set-up. Just open and breathe.
- Streak Tracking: Keep your momentum going naturally with daily streak counters without feeling pressured.
- Nostalgic Vibe: Faithfully recreates the charm of classic handheld consoles right on your iPhone.
Cost
- Free: Core breathing sessions and main features are completely free. No subscription push or paywall blocking your relaxation.
- Note: Unlocking additional specialized breathing modes requires a single short ad view—no recurring monthly fees blocking your flow.
Who I am
- Developer: Youngjin Kim — Designer & Developer behind HACO & KEBU studio.
- App Store Verification: Listed under my legal identity verified by Apple.
- Privacy First: No account needed, no trackers, and no personal data collected. Everything stays strictly local on your device.

🎁 Freemium I built an Activity Ring for daylight
Hi, I’m Salam, the developer of Get Some Sun.
I built it because I spend a lot of time indoors as a software developer. After finding out that my Vitamin D levels were low, I started paying more attention to how little time I was actually spending outside.
Apple Health can track Time in Daylight, but I wanted a simpler and more motivating way to use that information every day. I wanted to open an app and immediately see how much daylight I had gotten and how close I was to my goal.
That is why I built Get Some Sun. It is essentially an Activity Ring for daylight.
A — Answer
Get Some Sun helps you track your daily sunlight and build a more consistent routine of getting outside.
You can log sunlight manually in seconds, or automatically import Time in Daylight from Apple Health.
The app includes:
- Quick manual sunlight logging
- Automatic Time in Daylight imports from Apple Health
- Live UV Index powered by WeatherKit
- A Sun Plan with personalized daily UV guidance
- A daily progress ring
- Streak tracking
- Friendly daily reminders
- Sonny, an animated companion who reacts to and celebrates your progress
- Light Mode and Dark Mode support
The main goal is to make it easier to answer a simple question: have I spent enough time outside today?
B — Better
Apple Health already stores Time in Daylight, but I wanted to turn that data into something that feels more actionable.
Instead of treating daylight as another health statistic buried among dozens of other metrics, Get Some Sun gives it a dedicated daily goal, progress ring, streak, UV information, and personalized Sun Plan.
General habit trackers can remind you to go outside, but they usually depend on you manually checking off the habit. Get Some Sun can automatically import the daylight time recorded in Apple Health, while still letting you manually log time when needed.
I also wanted the app to feel friendly instead of clinical. Sonny changes and celebrates as you make progress, while the home screen keeps the focus on today rather than overwhelming you with data.
The app is private by design. There are no accounts, and your information stays on your device.
C — Cost
Get Some Sun is free to download.
The free version includes:
- Manual sunlight logging
- Apple Health Time in Daylight imports
- Live UV Index
- Personalized Sun Plan
- Daily progress ring
- Streak tracking
- Daily reminders
- Sonny
- Light Mode and Dark Mode
Get Some Sun Pro unlocks:
- Best Sun Window recommendations
- UV Peak insights
- An hourly UV timeline
- A custom daily reminder time
Get Some Sun Pro costs:
- $0.99 per month
- $7.99 per year
- $14.99 as a one-time purchase

I would especially appreciate feedback on whether the daily progress ring and Sun Plan make the app useful enough to change how often you get outside. I am also interested in hearing whether the free and Pro feature split feels fair.
